Hardwood Floors By Perfect Image

I just had my floors done by perfect image.
after having seen them around the neighborhood a lot, i asked some locals on a blog i belong to for some unbiased comments. nothing but good words.
well, i would rate them as a 5 out of 10. we had just two rooms to do on the first floor, the family room and the living room and the stairs leading upstairs and the 2^nd floor hallway.
where do i start? how about the fact that all tolled, it was one month before our floors were finally done. let’s start with the first issue, all the carpets were ripped up in all the rooms including the second floor except the stairs. when i asked jim about it, he pulled the estimate out and said, we don’t have the stairs on the estimate. i had to remind him that we also didn’t have the second floor hallway when he did the initial estimate, and i had to ask him to put it on after the fact eventhough he had measured both stairs and hallway. and why would i do the hallway but not the stairs leading up to the wood hallway from the wood foyer? so, he gave me a deal on the stairs.
then, the finish they put on the floors was much duller than the finish on the rest of our floors. i know the color cannot match, but the finish should. but because they had spilled some finish on our older floors, they had to redo all the first floor because they could not just buff out the bumpiness. so, in the end, they ended up doing our entire first floor at just the rate of the two rooms, hallway and stairs.
i can’t complain about that. except that it took a whole month to do, rather than the one week we were expecting. and then we got nickel and dimed for the wood registers (not on the estimate), but don’t you think that that should have been on there? it’s not the first time you’re doing floors, you know i’m going to need wood registers.
anyways, not the stellar job i was expecting. jim is a nice guy though and easy to work with. the workers that came were funny. so overall, mediocre experience.
