Gourmet 2 Go

Honestly, I was disappointed at the lack of organic food. Advertising food as gourmet seems false to me if products contains gmo’s, pesticides, etc. I’d love to see more organic options in general throughout town.

We stopped off here for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. Conveniently located opposite Bronxville MetroNorth station, this charming café serves a wide variety of appealing salads and hot dishes, available to purchase by weight.
We chose a mozzarella and tomato salad with an olive baguette on the side. The server was kind enough to slice some of the baguette and wrap the rest to go, and gave us free olive oil on the side for dipping the bread. The bread was fresh and crusty, and the cheese balls were good quality milky– and juicy-​tasting Italian mozzarella, rather than the usual tired, rigid yellowing slices of Italian-​American cheese that one often sees on this side of the Atlantic. The salad used halved grape tomatoes rather than tasteless slices of beef tomato and was seasoned simply and well but without the cacophony of flavours one sometimes finds in such a dish.
All in all a delightful experience. Their pastries looked good, too, but we had no room for anything other than a good cup of coffee.
