I’ve been to the walnut bus stop restaurant a few times. It’s one of the few restaurants in the area. I’ve ordered meatball heroes, gyros, and a few other sandwiches. I would recommend the gyro but overall give the walnut a 3 out of 5 stars for slightly above average meals.

Besides Iced Coffee & Fresh Cake everything is Crap. Good 5 – 10 $ lunches for underpaid work crews. Avoid unless you need beers to go or on the fly delivery

Although I doubt that anyone will actually read this, I’m compelled to post my review. I work in the area, the south Frigg’n Bronx, and there is nothing here but these guys. This is supposed to be a Greek corner diner, but the food is horrible. For God’s sake, the gyro is frozen strips of beef byproduct. Everything tastes the same. The owners are lucky that this area has the last stop on the BX33 bus, and so many factories, moving companies, and fat overly useless Triboro/RFK bridge employees, who come here, using company vehicles. They are the only deli/restaurant in the area that delivers anymore. And their prices reflect their overly inflated view of themselves… YOUARENOTINMANHATTAN, $ 6.00 for a Philly cheese steak, with no flavor, and no real Philly to identify it. Come on Man. Really. A one egg, bacon and cheese on a roll for $ 4.00. Really. A hero with fake ham or plastic salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and may for $ 5.50. Really. Stop pretending to serve the public, you are serving your own pockets, on the backs of hard working people. The best part of this place is the beer… and if your lucky you get to meet the drunk mail man, and listen to his rants. Due your self a favor if you work in this area. Make a stop at the Grand Bus Stop Deli at the 6 Train Cypress Ave stop. This is the real deal in this area. Heroes, with real Boars Head products, breakfast egg sandwiches that are made with two eggs. To be honest, if you are cheap and looking for good food here, the lady that sells homemade tamales, for $ 1.50, in front of the subway station is better than this place.

There is very, very little else around here so this place earns bonus points for that. I’ve had turkey sandwiches and they’ve turned out well pretty much every time. Not fancy but there is a pretty decent diner-esque eating area if you want to eat in. They serve beer too. There appears to be a pool table in the back as well but I’m not sure how open it is to the public. Lotto scratch off vending machine too, for you impulsive types.
