I got the meat burek. Had half walking and the other half later. Great lunch for 4 dollars.

How is this place still here? I didn’t have any burek but based on their pizza alone this pizzeria shouldn’t be able to survive in this neighborhood. Crust was hardly cooked, way too much cheese(also undercooked) and a negligible layer of sauce. In a neighborhood of pizza giants, just avoid this store.

Incredible Bureks and very good but tangy yogurt. Been coming to this place since ’98 and the food hasnt changed at all, its as good as it has ever been. Good and speedy service and delicious food, cant ask for much more.

Best pizza on Arthur ave. Their slices are big & taste great. There’s this old guy who is grumpy & has a smart mouth. I guess he didn’t know I spoke Spanish & heard him mumble under his breath when I ask him to cut my pizza. I even tip him before I asked, which I regret after.

If you really like to have a good byrek, you go elsewhere(Dukagjini or Side by Side). If you love microwaved byreks, then this is your spot. Pizza is below average for the area, but mostly MICROWAVEDBYREKS!

Got the plain slice. The crust is doughy more than you’ll usually find, and if you prefer a real crisp crust like I do, this won’t impress. The tomato is a little too overpowering.

Nothing fancy about Tony & Tinas but if you want a damn good slice the size of your face, this is the place to come.

Mehh i had better and cheaper. Maybe if they cooked the meat before they sprinkle it inside the burek it would get 4.5 just because one of the workers is so full of himself.

Just had Burek here, it was just ok. If you want a better Burek go to the one on Lydig ave in Pelham. The pizza didn’t look too good.

Tony & Tina’s serves pizza and burek. I have only had burek one other time before and that was at a Balkan place in Midtown Manhattan. It was so-so — a little greasy but not bad. This place is specifically Albanian run. Unfortunately, the burek here was not as good as that other place. I had a slice of meat burek and it was a good portion size and had a flaky outside. However, it was somewhat dry, had very little meat inside and the dough was way too thick. I grew tired of eating it and ended up throwing the rest of it out.

Don’t eat the pizza. Try the burek. Awesome, I had the pumpkin and it was just fantastic.

Why do people come here for pizza? Ignore the name of the place; this is a place to go for Albanian food. They have amazing burek! My favorite is cheese, but they also have meat, spinach, and pumpkin. Get it with the homemade yogurt and tulumba or baklava or rice pudding for dessert. Great place for brunch! Just remember that it’s cash only.

My fave spot for a slice of pizza after a night of drinking in the area. I’m a Fordham student, and as much as we all swear by Pugsleys Pizza, I actually think this place has tastier slices! One negative is that there’s not that many seats so you might end up eating outside standing up :( … as a side note — I’ve never tried anything but pizza in this place so I can’t comment or rate based on their other food!

I haven’t had their pizza or anything else they offer besides the burek. And its just amazing, definitely a place to cure a crave. Especially when you have it with a cup of yogurt. Place is clean, food is good, service is great. Bonus feature: Menu in Albanian! Priceless.

File this either in the ‘regretted calories’ or ‘should have checked Unilocal first’ category. The place has ‘pizzeria’ in the title, which is what drew me in. I wanted pizza, so I thought going into a Pizzeria might be the logical next step. I don’t know where Tony or Tina learned to make pizza, but the only positive thing I can think of to say about this place is that perhaps some day in the future they’ll decide to stop making pizza. It was downright awful. No need to elaborate. Everything mediocre about medicore pizza is present here. Sorry to be a little mean, but I really feel like I wasted my money here. If you like burek, I hope you’ll read other people’s reviews, because they seemed to really like it here!

Stars are for the burek. I have never had the pizza, nor will I ever. I cannot fathom coming here and ordering anything other than flaky, heavenly burek. For those who are unfamiliar, burek is like a greek/middle eastern pizza esque dish. Layers upon layers of filo dough stuffed with feta cheese, meat, spinach or some combination. Perfect complement to a Fordham football game, especially if you need to be consoled when they inevitably lose. Or to an afternoon of shopping at the Arthur Ave Market. Amen, burek.

Don’t be fooled. It’s a burek place housed in a pizza joint. Burek is like pizza in the Balkans and I’ve had some really great ones and really bad ones. It’s basically some type of pie with meat or veggie. Think spanakopita. Anyway, I was hoping to find some nice bureks with a crispy and flaky crust so I was a bit disappointed that the crust was pretty thick. However it was flaky. One slice is pretty big, I have a hard time finishing one. I think the grease gets to me after a few bites esp it you get a meat slice… you know bureks are not exactly the healthiest thing to eat.

Tony and Tina’s, which should only be referred to as «Burek» in spoken conversation, is pretty much the textbook definition of mediocrity. The pizza is forgettable, nothing too good, nothing too bad. The selection of slices is anemic, easily the worst in the Fordham Area. If you want anything other than cheese, pepperoni, or some sort of vegetable nonsense, you’re out of luck — compare this with places like University or Ivana’s that have a wide selection of interesting specialty slices. The prices are cheap, but that is the norm for pizza places around Fordham. The only thing notable about this place is the burek. Burek is pretty much an Albanian spinach pie. It comes in a few flavors — usually cheese, spinach, and«meat,» each of which has a hot filling in a light, flaky filo dough. It’s tasty, but not mind-blowing. Worth trying once, maybe more if you are a spinach pie fiend. Tony and Tina’s suffers from a problem that I have seen in many pizza places — the slices are just a little too large. If you get one, you might be left hungry, but if you get two, you will have too much to eat. My recommendation is to get one slice and one burek, and you will have a good amount of food. This isn’t a bad pizza joint, but there isn’t really any reason to go here unless you want Burek. If you just want cheap pizza, go to University. If you want something more high-end or with a lot of toppings, check out Giovanni’s or Ivana’s. I feel pretty generous giving this three stars. It probably only deserves two, because in the context of Fordham-area pizza, Tony and Tina’s is pretty low on the totem pole.

Sometimes referred to as «Tony & Tina’s Pizza & Burek» online, I find the reason to stop into this busy little pizzeria is in fact for the burek. It’s pumpkin incarnation($ 3.50) is the only variety that comes wound in a spiral as it would be in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The dough is perfect, and the pumpkin easier to eat than a thick slice of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. I almost wanted to put some whipped cream on top, but thought that might get me chased off of Arthur Avenue. I saw others dipping their meat and vegetable versions in yogurt, but will have to try this on another visit. I’ve never tried a slice here, but those in the display case made it look clear to me that the way to go here is towards the Balkans.
