History

Established in 1976.

Sullivan Wood Floors was founded in the early nineteen sixties by Brendan Sullivan who had emigrated from County Cork in Ireland. He quickly built a tradition of old world quality and customer service that was lacking in the industry at that time. In the Nineteen Eighties another wave of Irish Immigrants arrived in New York and among them Gerry Browne and Eddie Scott arrived. Gerry Browne went to work for Sullivan Wood Floors having served his time in Ireland as a Carpenter. Later Gerry started his own Flooring Company «All Around Floor Service». Eddie Scott at the same time was establishing himself as a Wood Flooring expert also having founded Scott Flooring Inc. In late 1999 Eddie Scott and Gerry Browne together bought Sullivan Wood Floors from Brendan Sullivan who was retiring from the business to pursue other interests. Gerry and Eddie merged all 3 companies into Sullivan Wood Floors bringing new blood and experience to an already famous brand.
