Overrated, over priced and over it. I’d rather the hero shop that used to be there years ago!

Buffet food was really good, they are just a little expensive. Also very small seating area. Their salmon was delicious so if you ever find yourself in the area go get that!

I live in this neighborhood and come here once in a while. It’s over priced and the service is slow. There are def better deli in the areas that won’t charge so much and where the wait time is not unbearable.

Alright alright… The hype of this place is OVER! Over crowded, disorganized, raised prices. It was great when it first opened up and I LOVED it for being in such a crappy area. But I am so OVER it! I am constantly disappointed. with everything here.

I go to this place a lot. Not because it’s the best but because it’s really the only place in this area that you can get good food. Now that I think of it in terms of options it is the best. You can get a great salad, buffet food, sandwiches, pizza, sweets and lots of different drinks. It’s the only place around here that you can get an ice coffee with soy milk. However it’s a little pricey and you should definitely avoid this place during lunch. It’s super crowded. I would also pay in cash there was a period of time where some shady stuff was going down with credit card fraud.

BESTDELIEVER(that I’ve found so far in the yankee stadium area) Clean, spacious, friendly service, copious eating. Hot buffet with a great selection that rivals whole foods(coming to the bronx?) Great gourmet sandwiches at an unbeatable price 5 – 7 $. Fresh quality salad ingredients. Deli grocery selection is premium with electic drinks and a vast selection of kettle chip brands :)))). Overall: I eat here almost everyday now. Still need to try the pizza which looks killer, brick oven spotted in the back.

Ugh! Again… another lunch hour ruined in the Bronx! I gave this place a couple of tries… I honestly did! I forgave the ‘B’ rating they had for over a year and yet and still a swing and a miss! The food overall is not horrible(if you enjoy slightly salty cuisine), but the ageda that place causes… forget about it! The line is out the door and the employees are less than respectful. I’m not asking you to kiss my feet, but when I have a question I don’t appreciate the side eye from the man behind the counter and the girl standing behind him(Yes… I saw you too, honey!). I admit, they do have a lot of delicacies not so easily come by in the heart of the Bronx, but from here on… I’ll import my own!

For some reason Unilocal deleted my truthful review of this business. On multiple occasions I visited this establishment only to be ignored. During breakfast, their most common attendant will walk away from the counter as I am ready to order and pretend to wipe down the counter while I am standing there. During this time a line builds. My order has been wrong because of his laziness on multiple occasions as well. I also spoke about the very rude attendant behind the cash register, she was a new hire at one time and she never said thank you, or any type of pleasantries. Snatching money from my hand and rolling her eyes at me. Unilocal should not delete truthful reviews, nobody is bashing the establishment.

I always come here for breakfast/lunch whenever i’m around the area for work(family court). I love the fact that they have a wide variety of foods, fast check out process and the food has always been good! I can honestly say i’ve never ever had something bad tasting or i did not like. They make omelettes, pancakes/french toast, sandwiches, muffins and cakes/goodies at the glass counter. They also make coffee very well. Never messed up on what i want in my coffee. For lunch they have the lunch buffet which varies from day to day w fish, meats, veggies, pastas, rice, etc. They also have pizzas, salads and makes other sandwiches/burgers. Definitely a place to hit up when ure around the area. They do have seatings in the back but its crazy packed during lunch time, but not too sure abt the morning since i’m always on the run!

Hands down the best deli/grocery in the Courthouse/Stadium/Grand Concourse161st area. When they opened it was literally life changing, since they are the first to bring a civilized deli environment to our area; we never had this in the South Bronx until Sheridan Gourmet opened. Great for lunch, but even better for those of us that actually live in this area– and need a place to stop by at night to pick up milk/juice or takeout. SPOTLESSLYCLEAN, very good quality experience… they have everything you could want from a takeout/small grocery environment. They should be famous for their pizza, which is delicious ! Try the margarita –they are the only place that uses real mozzarella cheese and fresh basil in this South Bronx neighborhood. Prices are a little higher here — but you get what you pay for in the form of excellent service(very friendly and helpful everyone here) and quality ingredients in everything from the fresh menu items to packaged snacks, sodas, etc. I dare you to try finding Fentiman’s English sodas anywhere else in the South Bronx ! I LOVETHISPLACE — thank you Sheridan for upping the ante here, and giving us an alternative to the scores of dingy, depressing and smelly delis & bodegas that otherwise predominate in GC/161st area !

Good spot to go for lunch if you are in the area. The prices are reasonable and they have plenty of options for your taste The coffee is good, but I am not sure how the pastries are.

Just came from that place this morning. I thank got it’s July 4th because if it wasn’t Fridays are the hardest day to get in that place. In da good way. People are extremely nice, food is fantastic and the place itself is beautiful. I’m in love with the fact that you can order smoothies now. It’s not like any other deli around the area. Police man, firefighters and lawyers. You can see just about any kind of people coming in here and that’s more than enough for me to love it. This place stands on out on its own. I just go in for tea and a bagel every morning. But I enjoy it. I hope they stay open for another 100 years.

This place is conveniently tucked between the courthouse and Yankee stadium(if you’re willing to travel about two or three long blocks). I’ve tried a couple things on the breakfast menu that was decent. That being the oatmeal which was a bit too thin for my taste and the homefries, eggs, and toast. Other than that I normally buy a salad and customize it myself. I can definitely say that they provide a good portion of food for the price. They can get a little pricey but that’s probably because they are one of if not the only establishment in the area serving quality food. No competition there!

Glad to have found a place in the area to grab a healthy salad from instead of being coerced into eating fast food. My spinach salad with their spicy chicken and 5 veggie toppings(they have red beets… yum!) came out to $ 5.99 with tax! I was really quite surprised and was expecting to pay closer to $ 8. The man who rung up was super nice too. Awesomo!(Also check out Cintron’s pineapple ginger green tea by the refreshments. Haven’t seen it anywhere else.)

I am so glad they built a place like this! Coming here, I found my new favorite caramel popcorn, GH Cretor’s, which is 10x better than Garrett’s. Yeah, I said it… better than Garrett’s! I love the food, drink, and buffet selections. I love the Junior’s Cheesecake desserts, including tiramisu or red velvet cheesecake. I love the plain red velvet cake, and I love the pancakes they make to order. I’ve only had the pepper steak & rice, but didn’t like it as much. They have at least 10 other options that I’m willing to try. And every deli doesn’t have the individual Martinelli’s juices, and they do! Will I go back? You bet your ass I will!

(I don’t get it, why is this place a triple dollar sign? It’s not that expensive…) Anywho, this place is AMAZING! I love it! I work at a high school nearby and for the longest time I’ve been packing lunches. BUTNOMORE. Some of my fellow teachers had been taking the five minute trek during breaks to get food from this place and I had always been skeptical when they said that it was called Sheridan«Market.» I mean, market food just has a negative connotation. However, I decided to go one day when all of my co-teachers decided to take a trip there to grab lunch. Oh god, I have not seen such a beautifully delicious hot bar buffet in a long time. I mean, I’m a huge fan of Golden Corral and Hometown Buffet(and albeit they’re actually different types of restaurants), but this place was clean and the food looked fresh! They have a WIDE selection, going from grilled salmon and tilapia to beef brisket and mixed vegetables to honey chicken and fried wings to teriyaki beef and cajun shrimp pasta. The selection is really really impressive! I’ve tried a whole bunch of stuff. I had a Shrimp Alfredo pasta once and the Cajun shrimp penne, and both were very good! The pasta was cooked just right and the sauces were so savory! The Beef steak was a little on the dry side, but the skirt steak and beef brisket were both spot on. The only complaint I’d have with the meats is that the box is really small, so using a fork and knife in their to-go containers is actually pretty difficult(I always have to eat the meat last so all the other foods don’t get smushed). The salmon steak was also really good, considering that I normally dislike grilled/baked seafood. Also had this breaded chicken cutlet in some butter sauce and that is probably my favorite dish here. The main lackluster part of Sheridan’s hot buffet would be their Asian food section. While they do have a ton of variety, most of which I have not tried, the honey chicken and«popcorn fried» chicken were pretty dry and unspectacular. But all of it looks really good! I can’t say much for the rest of the market, though their cupcakes selections looks pretty diverse and delicious. I’ve been going to the gym with fervor recently, so I’m keeping my fingers away from sweets. One tricky thing about the pricing for the hot buffet: If you get any of the fish dishes, then they will charge you 9.99(or 8.99, I forget) instead of the normal $ 6.99, EVENIFTHEMAJORITYOFYOURDISHISNOTFISH. So if you plan on getting salmon and mashed potatoes and some chicken wings, ask for them in separate containers! Anyway, anyone who works around concourse village know that Sheridan Market is the place to be, especially for lunch. (Also, side note, one of my coworkers ordered a custom sandwich the other day and now they’ve started selling it pre-made! She was super excited to see it being sold today).

I work across from this place so I eat here about 2 – 3 times a week. Hot Buffet: The food is pretty good, specially the salmon and skirt steak. The Spanish rice and paella are also tasty; for some reason the mixed veggies are always too salty. I don’t like that they charge you more if you have seafood, yes I know it is more expensive, but wth, just because I have one small piece of salmon you decide to charge me and extra $ 1 per pound? But you are not taking into account the fact the rest of the food is not seafood, so I am paying seafood price for the rice and veggies as well, not fair! Salad: Don’t like it, they don’t have enough toppings and it is overpriced, if you are looking for a good salad, go to Nadal’s up the block. Sandwich: Decent, although the breads can be hard some times. Pizza: Good, love the artichoke spinach, but $ 3.50 for a slice? Am I in the Bronx or Midtown? Service: Very good and everyone is very friendly. Overall I like the food I just wish their prices were a bit cheaper, just because you are by the courts doesn’t mean everyone is on a judge or lawyer salary.
