Shenin Eyebrow Threading

I came by here when my other threading place was closed the Monday after New Years weekend. I was greeted warmly by a lady named Indo and seated as she prepped to thread my eyebrows. As she was doing it. She was very gentle and chatted a bit so I didn’t really feel any pain. It cost 6 dollars and I received a card that I can redeem for free services after a certain amount of visits. I will definitely make this one of my spots for threading/​waxing.

I went here one night out of desperation. My college pictures were being taken in two days and I realized my eyebrows were looking a little like Groucho Marks. Normally I go to a place in the city, but there just wasn’t time. This place seemed viable as it was a short walk from my apartment. Two hours later and I realized I should have just went to the city.
When I came in there were two women threading two customers. I assumed I would be next. When the first woman was done the woman who was threading her decided to call it a day. She sat next to, who I assume was, her daughter and proceeded to tell her not to pick at her henna tattoo. When the other threader was finally done with the bearded lady of Throggs Neck she told me to wait some more and began to give the woman with the child a henna tattoo. What I don’t understand was why didn’t the one woman (who was obviously an employee) thread my eyebrows really quick while she waited 20 minutes for her henna tattoo.
Anyway when all of that was over I had already been waiting there over an hour (remember I was desperate). Finally I was told to sit in another chair and the threading would begin. something that should take around 5 minutes took 40 long agonizing minutes. The reason being is that the woman threading my eyebrows kept taking breaks to talk to the henna woman about how much she should pay for her henna tattoo. One time she left the store and then came back in. It was ridiculous. Anyone who has threaded knows it s best to get it over with in one shot. sitting there just makes you swell more and it is no fun having hair pulled out of swollen skin.
Maybe this place is better during the day or with different employees. Either way I don’t care. All I know is I don’t recommend this place and will never go back.
