Sabores Restaurant

The food is average, it is what you would expect from a Spanish restaurant, the service on the other hand leaves much to be desired. I went here for lunch and after waiting for about 10 minutes at a table and practically cleaning our own table (the unoccupied tables had plates on them no one had bothered to pick up) I got up went to the counter and asked if we should order at the counter or continue to wait at the table for someone to take our orders. I was told to wait at the table. To give some context: there were 3 other tables occupied at the time 2 of which had food served and 3 waitresses taking orders at the counter. The place was no where near crowded but they had a few orders for take out yet there was no reason for the lengthy wait time. they could have had 2 waitresses at the counter and one at the tables but apparently they all needed to be together and keep each other company behind the counter. When one of the waitresses finally came to the table she dryly took the order, no apology or anything as if our sitting there caused her annoyance.
That being said, I understand that we all have long days and I would have excused this behavior had it not been because right after she walked away with our order some people who appeared to have been regulars walked in were greeted very warmly and loudly and had drinks in front of them before they could put their tush on the stool at the counter literally.
Moral of the story, be prepared to wait for subpar service and average food or just order take out if you really must eat here but be warned their service leaves much to be desired.

Great simple traditional Latino home cooking. On Sunday’s I have the chicken soup with a side of rice and 2 green bananas. Perfect Sunday brunch. Service with a smile.

I love their food. My favorite is the baked chicken and also the salted fish. They always accommodate my requests. They are so helpful and respectful.
