The service is the worst in the Bronx. Ive been treated better at Burger King. Dont be black because you will wait like you don’t matter because you don’t speak Spanish! I love the fish and shrimp. if you want to be disrespected and ignored this is the restaurant for you. I have patronized this restaurant since it opened the service has declined drastically… Won’t be going back!

Delivery Order of broiled fish and shrimp w. fries, broiled fish w. plantains, chicken and broccoli w. rice and baked clams at 4:41pm… Food arrived at 5:10pm(reasonably fast) still hot where it’s currently 43° outside. Onto the food. Everthing came and appeared very presentable for a delivery order. The food seemed seasoned lightly, but was very good… Everything was cooked perfectly. Very satisfied with the entire order. Ordered from here numerous times, where the food was always perfect. Would also recommend the Mojito grilled chicken… Good stuff…

This is my go to when I’m craving a great meal. I literally have to drive here cause I live no where near it, but it’s so worth my trip. Their menu has everything and it’s great for eating there or take out. I love their bento box dishes and their shrimp is delicious. Their crispy yuca cups made to order Filled with succulent crab meat are my favorite appetizers. Their specialty drinks are tasty as well. The staff is very friendly and the place is always clean. Hope they never leave the Bronx. #bronxjewel

First time coming here with my boyfriend, they have pretty good food. I’ve been to some chinese/spanish restaurant, but this is pretty good compare to others that I’ve been to. It’s was pretty packed when we got there, but thank god the wait wasn’t long for the booth seatings. We first ordered some appetizers to start off. We ordered the Stuffed Clams, it was okay, I’ve had better. They put too much stuffing on it so it wasn’t as crunchy. Then we ordered Teriyaki Chicken which was pretty good. We also ordered the Shrimp Tostones a la Vinagreta which was really good, it was refreshing with very nice presentation. Not a heavy appetizer at all. We also ordered a avocado salad on the side to share, the avocado was fresh which was good. For entrée we both ordered the Steak and Fish. My boyfriend order the Shrimp Fried Rice on the side, it was okay, not that bad. The Steak and Fish is really good. I like my steak medium rare and it came out just right, not too bloody but you can still see red. The steak taste really good, but the garlic on the fish was just so amazing… It was SOOO good that I try to finish the fish even though I was sooooo full! Overall, it was a really good experience. I will def recommend my friends to come and try this place.

I would not say this restaurant serves authentic spanish food. However, they do have some unique and very flavorful dishes. My favs are: squid rice, tostones, broiled fish and shrimp, broiled clams. I would say that the service is either a hit or miss. Some of their staff are just rude and look like they just want you to leave. But there are some that are very outgoing and cheerful. So just go in there and enjoy the food, it will withstand your rude waiter if you do get unlucky lol.

I am always surprised to witness interesting things that most people overlook when patronizing eating establishments. At this restaurant I usually sit in the back at one of the booths. I usually face the only television abutted on the wall and directly above the entrance to the restroom. I do this because I am usually alone and hence, this keeps me entertained as I await the food to arrive. I’ll get back to this later. For the past several years, I have been patronizing this establishment serving pseudo Latino style food. What keeps me returning is the prompt service, the cost(reasonable), as well as the friendliness of the staff. During my many encounters, I’ve met the owner who goes by the pseudonym«Roberto,» and is a former partner at Saborsura Restaurant on Castle Hill Avenue. Needless to say as one reviewer wrote, the food is almost identical as far as taste, style, and portions served. On meeting Roberto, I’ve learned that these guys of Chinese descent, have lived in the Dominican Republic where they have learned the food of this Caribbean Nation. In fact, if you have visited Saborsura, you would have noticed the display of beautiful pictures depicting the wonderful landscape of the Dominican Republic. When this restaurant opened it’s doors, the food seem to be good. However, as in many cases where popularity and the number of people patronizing grows, they have failed to maintain the quality of the food served. Lately, I had the occasion of returning over salted food. I hate to do this because I am always leery about the replacement plate, if you know what I mean. On many visits I order the baked clams that are freshly fished from the bubbling tank displayed in the dining area. This is always a great choice for me because you can literally witness the netting of these crustaceans. I often follow this appetizer with my main plate of steak or the fried fish. They both have arrived too salty for consumption and served on plates slathered with oil. During my last visit, again arriving alone, I take my usual seat in the back. On this occasion I noticed a stream of cooks entering and leaving the restrooms in the back. What I also noticed was that the noisy air drying machine that are contained within these rooms in place of paper towels, were never activated after these men entered and exited the rooms. Looking more closely, I also noticed that these guy’s hands were not wet or even hinted a sign of moisture after relieving themselves. This, my friends, perhaps explains the over salted food served.

I went to school a block away from this place and I never visited till about 2 years ago and WOW! the food is so good and fresh and I love that they speak spanish. the food deserves a 5⁄5 it taste fresh and flavorful. Service would be 4⁄5 they are so nice and responsible but i personally like it when one person attends. location/looks 3⁄5 never been a fan of castle hill, and i find the restaurant to be sorta small for the nice clientele they have. the price i find it to be a bit expensive. Given, the food is amazing but for the location it shouldnt be this much. over all this IS my FAV restaurant in this side of the bronx take it from a big guy is good!

One of the unexpected surprises I found in the Parkchester area is Sabor Latino Seafood Restaurant. The food is very good and the portions are large. Whenever my Wife and I go there we have a hard time deciding what to have next from their menu. While the menu is mainly done with a Spanish flair they do offer some Asian style food such as the Mussels in Hong Kong style Butter-Garlic sauce(my personal favorite!). You’ll also Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Stuff Clams, stuffed Shrimp with crab meat & Mofongo! There is something for everyone here! If you do come to Sabor for a meal bring CASH as they do not take credit /debit cards(???) but the food is definitely worth the trip! If you want a family meal I suggest their ‘Best Family Meal Deal 4′. You get a family size order of Fried Rice(like two quarts worth!), a whole chicken either fried or grilled(the grilled chicken can be either mojito or teryiyaki style) or instead of chicken you can get the bourbon style boneless ribs– all for under$ 21! If your in the Bronx or around the Parkchester area Sabor Latino Seafood Restaurant is a MUST!!!

This was the first time I ever dined in the Bronx and I loved this restaurant! My favorite was the broiled clams and shrimp! I also loved the sizziling steak! The waiters were so funny. I never met asians that spoke spanish before and I thought that was so cool! I also loved the fried cheesecake. I am coming back next week!

Not a fan. I should have known when I picked up an order of the highly reviewed fried cheesecake. It looked like a long, thin eggroll and the contents were scorching hot even 30 minutes after having gotten it. It tasted like a piece of everyone’s meals from the past year was intermixed from them not changing the oil. Alas, I’m a sucker for the Mojito Grilled combo at Sabrosura and since everything looked suspiciously the same, including most of the waitstaff, we tried it this past Tuesday night. My friend and I ordered the same thing, the Mojito combo with chicken, shrimp and pork chops. The chicken smelled/tasted uncleaned, two of my shrimp were not deveined(ewww, wth?!) and the porkchop was half meat and half fat. We also had their«fresh squeezed lemonade» which was suspiciously as Country Time as the staff was Sabrosura-esque. I really wanted to love this place, especially since I live across the street and there is absolutely nothing to eat in the area except a Crown Fried Chicken shack and Chinese. I will not visit this place again.

Kinda surprised that people don’t like Sabor Latino but love Sabrosura when it’s practically the same thing. Same menu, same weird forks wrapped up in plastic, same yellow décor, same Chinese staff that speaks fluent Spanish, same sangria and pina coladas… the list goes on and on really. The only differences are that this location is on Starling Avenue, the menu is pasted on the windows outside, and the wait staff is a large percentage much friendlier than at their sister restaurant further south. I guess, though, I shouldn’t call them«sister» restaurants in the event that the old Sabrosura staff pulled a mutiny on the Bounty. I came here with the partner in crime initially headed to Taqueria Tlaxcali but got distracted by the brightly colored dishes on the outside window, and cheap prices. We went in and were greeted, and offered a seat by the door. It was slightly chilly, but the wall of the counter offered a little privacy. Like Sabrosura, the menu is extensive and covers everything. We were given garlic bread that we were not offered at Sabrosura for some weird reason that was tasty, and ordered fried wontons to share. I must give props to a restaurant that gives you a squeeze bottle of duck sauce. I ordered mofongo this time, as the savory, starchy treat is a rare one for me, with shrimp skewers. All I can say is that this dish was a hit with deliciously meaty and fatty gravy with garlicky shrimp decorated with cilantro. I have a weakness for cilantro. The meal was overall filling and tasty, and cheap. We were even given a complimentary wall scroll calendar! I see here that there is a strong community. There are regulars and the place is noisy with activity. Quiet restaurants scare me, who wants an awkward situation that’s not conducive to conversation? Brotip:(Again) Like Sabrosura, no credit, cash only!

Two stars, based on poor service, and the two items ordered. In fairness to this restaurant, I saw some broiled jumbo shrimp plates walk by that looked pretty tasty. They have an interesting and extensive menu that might offer some charms… Wait/cooking staff is all Chinese, yet they serve mufongo. Go figure. Place has absolutely no character – basically a crass, overlit diner, with the cooks and waiters yelling across the room. Don’t plan on a romantic evening here. When the waiter finally came, I ordered the Chofan Marisco, a fried rice seafood dish; my daughter had chicken wings and fries. ‘Murdered’ is a better word than fried. If you like your food seriously oversalted and overcooked, this is the place for you… I tried, but couldn’t really eat it. The wings weren’t overcooked, but again, all that salt… They have some broiled(not fried) seafood dishes on the menu that might be pretty good, but for $ 18.50 a plate, I’d rather eat in a quiet, tastefully-lit restaurant that sports tablecloths and not utensils wrapped in plastic.

My girlfriend had the CamaronFongo and let nothing for me to clean up I did get the chance to steal a nibble. So if your looking for the Original Sabrosura staff look no ffurther.

For now its a 3 star review. I have eaten there twice and both times the food was a little to salty for my taste. But I will go again and try it out a third time to be fair. Its kinda one of those places you want it to be good because its in your neighborhood.

OK so lets start with, Yes Gesselle C. the place is noisy and the waiters yell but they are O SO delicious… I must say I am a regular, which happens to be such a bad thing for some… but I have yet to taste a plate that I am not amazed at… Last night I had broiled chicken and shrimp with such flavors that intensified in your mouth with each bite!!! Their crab cakes and their seafood patty is to DIE for… Maybe I over exaggerate, or maybe its the fat girl in me that screams to have Sabor Latino right down the block from me… MINDYOU. I LIVEINBROOKLYN and I travel to the BX for this food! If ever you want a dessert the Fried Cheesecake is SLAMMING!!! My mother always told me to enjoy the dessert you have to have it as a meal and therefore when I am in the mood for it, I order it before my meal instead of after!!! OK, so it is noisy and the waitstaff may not be the best mannered but it is quick and great… LOVELOVELOVE this place!

Yeah this place is horrible, sorry sis. My sister loves the food here but the atmosphere is too horrible. The waiters yell across the restaurant to the kitchen guys in Chinese. They drop the plates in the bus bins and make a lot of noise.
