Very busy on a Sunday morning, but the waitresses were so sweet and cheerful, the wait was not a bother at all. Breakfast was delish!

Nice local place, close to where I work every Tuesday. Classis local restaurant with good service. I can say I would drive from far to eat here, but whenever I am in Lydig, and after years of eating at the small mall which is not far from here, I found this local place. The prices are fair, which makes it a good spot for lunch if you are in the area. They are not trying to be something that they are not, and this is enough for me to rate them 4 stars.

Great place to eat. I come in the weekends and their breakfasts are great, my daughter loves their pancakes. You feel at home with a friendly staff at all times and they are so clean. I recommend it n give it a five!

Went at around 11am and it was so crowded and the service was surprisingly very quick and the food was great too! I’m in love with their sausage but the potatoes that come with the egg platters are kind of bland for my liking.

Love this place. My favorite diner in the area. FYI: It’s a bit small and closes in the afternoon but you should check it out. The staff is very friendly and the owner genuinely gets to know her customers and is great. The waffles are amazing and so is the coffee.

Yea I would come back. It has some of the best waffles I’ve ever had. They have a decent selection of food too. Not a big fan of their sausage among maybe a few other items. Service varies a little, usually good however.

Always enjoyed the food from breakfasts to lunch. Burgers are excellent as are omlettes. Love their homefries and coffee as well. I like the overall ambiance. Friendly and laid back. It’s small and cozy as well.

The one thing I miss about the Bronx is the Lydig Coffee House. My wife and I would go for breakfast on Saturday’s and always had a great meal. We loved Mary, one of the owners. When my wife was pregnant with our first child, she would always give her a couple of free donuts for the baby. I don’t know where they got their donuts from but this baby enjoyed them too. When my daughter was born and old enough to eat a donut, Mary would give her one. Great local place, great food, great owners and staff. Love you Mary and Lydig Coffee House!

Ordered breakfast. home fries are mushy and tastless, sausage is probably frozen and looks like what I would buy at the supermarket… for 2.99…would only come again if I were really desperate for food!

My weekend breakfasts, whether table service or home delivery, come from Lydig Coffee House.
Great portions, fresh food, extensive menu, AMAZING service, the owner is such a sweetheart, our district’s local rep comes around some weekends and shakes hands with everyone, gives out candy canes at Xmas, such a family joint *where everybody knows your name*, just love this place. They really know how to take care of their people.
Warning: They close super early, like before 5, so this is the spot for an early bird special — but, they also open super early, probably even early enough for a 4am burger after a night out on the town.
Doesn’t get better than Lydig Coffee House. One more thing, if you’re driving, you better display that muni-​meter receipt because the metermaids here are like vultures!

My little family is here almost every Sunday for breakfast. It is your neighborhood diner – filled with friendly faces and great food.
We first started coming when we moved to the area about 9 months ago. The owner is very sweet and the ladies working here make you feel like family. Sometimes there is a short wait especially on the weekends but they make sure you are acknowledged right away.
The food comes out quick and rarely disappoints. Their waffle is awesome as well as the French toast.
My son can be a handful when we go but the staff truly goes out of their way to help in any way that they can.
Make note: this is a cash only establishment! So stop at the ATM before you head in :)

3.5 stars. Interior is small, nothing fancy. Food — huge variety, typical diner food. Great chicken sandwich with bacon. Price was a little expensive. Service was mixed. I would go back though.

This place is great for early morning delivery!!! Awesome grits and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. The servers a really nice. No one there rushes you either!

Typical lunch spot.
The place is small and was packed when I decided on lunch around 12pm. Of course, that’s a good thing.
I sat in the back and put the menu by the edge of the table to show I was ready to order. Apparently, no one saw that. I waited a good 10 minutes while one waitress had a customer adjust what it looked like a heart monitor she had attached to her waist (?!) while the other one just waited on tables.
Anyway, the food was good. Bacon nice and crispy.
It’s a spot I won’t be going out of my way to go to again.
Oh well.

Great diner.
I work a block up from this place and we usually order breakfast and lunch from this place. I love all their breakfasts and I’m a big fan of the New York Wrap with turkey (and a salad instead of the fries!!)
The waitresses make this place so much more enjoyable. They are all awesome ladies and we enjoy going to pick up our food and getting in a few minutes of conversation with whoever is on shift.
One star off because they close around 5pm — which is pretty early since most diners are 24÷7… But they’re always insanely busy when they are open so I can’t blame them for wanting to take a break… but I would have loved to come here for late night munchies!
