They not taking patients so seriously because someone just came in for the heart n they making him wait n he is 70 who does that

This is less than a 1!!! Worst services I’ve ever seen in ER. My dad was bleeding got three days and after six hours still no one but registration has come to see him. Disgusting!!! The wait time reads 2 hours and 22 mins!!! We are six hours in!!! Patients cry for help — mind you who are by themselves and elderly — and pretty much ignored.

My first review for this hospital will go out to the terrible experience I had in it’s triage with a head nurse by the name of Robert Hirsh! He has absolutely no bed side manner and ladies if you are pregnant stay clear!!! He will give you the worst exam and it will scar you like it has scared me! I feel more violated than taken care of! I’ve had my share of «female» examinations and NEVER have I had one like that! Overall the hospital is great and so is the service. With the exception of this person who I will never forget! I had great nurses otherwise while I was in triage and when I wanted to make a complaint I was taken seriously. Once admitted the service continued to be very good. But as a female stay away from that head nurse!!! I promise you, you’ll thank me later!

In short, this is the worst hospital anyone can go to…
If you must go to a Bronx hospital, go to Jacobi.

Place is a joke. Family member goes in with cheat complaints and have her in hallway overnight. No beds available. Is this a hospital or a tent in Vietnam. Sad excuse for a hospital.

I gave birth to my twins on Sept. 11^th here and I think Jacobi is better and i regret not going there again. I had my five year old son at Jacobi and the only thing i didn’t like was that I had to share a room. But here I had my own room which was nice… but the nurses are annoying. And some of their comments weren’t nice. I’m black and my husband is white so my children came out on the lighter side and some nurses had opinions I didn’t care to here about that. My husband was in the army so he wasn’t there and they gave me their opinion on that too. I wanted to be left alone after pushing 2 babies out without any drugs. The nurses are too nosy.

Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Came here last winter for a broken toe (I knew it was broken I’ve never felt so much pain in my life). Anyway I came here they tried to give me X-​rays but the machine kept breaking down the guy had to restart the machine like 3x before it finally started working. The nurse comes back to me to tell me my toe wasn’t broken and the swelling would go down within two weeks and sent me off with nothing but a Motrin prescription. Well a month goes by and it’s still very swollen. I still can’t walk so I decide to take my ass to a hospital in Queens and sure enough my toe was freaking broken. Not only was it broken they said if I had not come in my toe wouldn’t had properly healed itself back. Let alone the wait at this hospital is ridiculous. I waited for like 2 hours and there was only one other patient besides me at like 4am. Fucking annoying. Just avoid this place if you can it’s garbage.

This review is for the third world attitude they have toward the community not medical services.
I waited for 45 minutes for parking to see a friend who was about to have a heart procedure I went around and around. I called hospital and told the operator that all I wanted was paid parking. I asked if they had a lot. She transferred me to the parking department where I was quickly told there is no paid parking. What??? Is this NEW YORK CITY AKA THE BRONX and there is NO PARKING EVEN FOR PURCHASE? Is this Mumbai or the jungles of Brazil?.. This hospital has to plan better for the needs of the visiting public and their patients. If this were Manhattan at least I could park it in a lot. I had no choice but to head back home and try again tonight when hopefully there will be fewer people around needing parking. This stuff goes on in the Bronx because the community is not valued. Shame.

yesterday i accompanied a dear family member to the emergency room where she was promptly triaged for her presenting complaint Everything went downhill from there she was placed on a sstretcher and taken into the main emergency room where she layed on a stretcher and continues to lay a day later. Sshe was seen by a PA-​C who I had to request to see his identification, which he relunctintly showed. No memeber of the staff introduced themselves. I needed to request information after waiting for an update on my mom’s progress. Between the rude neurology resident and the PA-​C (by the way who I believe was not adequetly being supervised by the attending physcian) my mother lay on the stretcher for hours before they could decide if she was going to get a brain scan when she presented with cc of syncopal syndrome and «passing out». she was placed intermittently on continuous cardiac monitoring which was off most of the night. Not one nurse replaced the leads, although her male nurse entered the curtain at times. It was then decided that she would be admitted to telemetry bed after 5 hours although her symptoms initially indicated this. I asked the nurse and the PA if beds were available. The nurse was very short in speech and said admitting will cll us. I pleaded for him to call admitting before I left my mother in the ER. He said they will cal us. Lo and behold as soon as I got home my mother called to say that there were no beds available and she was told either wait in the ER until tomorrow or be transferred to a hospital in the bronx. No one seems to care about the patient. I would like to add. The ER was not extremely busy. No trauma patients. Not even an overabundance of patients. In addition the information dek in the ER was totally useless. The women never acknowledge my prescence although I stood directly in front of her to ask a question. The most helpful and caring people were the security officers and the person who escorted mother to cat scan and gave her a tray. Moving forward I will NEVER bring my mother to this ER again!!!

Came here to visit a neighbor (May he rest in peace). Although my family and I came after the visiting hours the hospital staff was nice enough to let us go upstairs and see him for the last time. The hospital gets my respect and I appreciate all their hard work. Good hearted staff in that hospital.

Great hospital … Great prompt care… People need to learn the definition of triage and not everything is an emergency… Staff is friendly and caring !!

Quality of service overall varies from department to department and from doctor to doctor. I and others I know have had both some of the best doctors on the planet and the worst on the planet affiliated with this hospital. My advice with docs here would be pretty much the same as it would be with doctors anywhere: be careful, be critical, and if there’s something about them that rubs you the wrong way, dump ‘em and find another.
The hospital itself is well equipped and up to date, and inpatient care has improved immensely in the past few years. Nursing staff on the floors has also improved greatly, so if you had a bad experience a few years back, chances are if you have to make a return visit now, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
So why the two star rating then? The answer to that can be summed up in one department: THE EMERGENCY ROOM. Possibly the most important place in any hospital and oftentimes the place people see first and most often, the conditions in the ER make or break a hospital, and this one is by far the WORST I’ve ever experienced. I have spent far, far too much time in emergency rooms over the years, as both a worker and as a patient, so I definitely have a broad frame of reference… one that includes plenty of dingy municipal hospitals and second-​rate community hospitals, but never in my life have I witnessed such blatant disregard for patient care, or such horrifying disorganization. During every one of my past few visits, I have seen patients misplaced and outright LOST for HOURS. People are left on stretchers for over24 hours straight and ignored, instead of being properly admitted or discharged. Some aren’t even provided blankets, and medications seem to be given at the leisure of the mostly slack and rude staff… which sometimes means not at all. Patients are discussed and even INSULTED by staff within earshot of other patients. And the conditions worsen by the day.
I was VERY rudely informed by two different nurses that ‘this is just how emergency rooms are’, but as I said above, I am well aware that this is not the case. Crowding is NOT the problem. Staff who’d rather socialize and argue with each other instead of doing what they’re being paid to do IS the problem. The place is an absolute abomination, and it’s a shame, because this reflects on the rest of the hospital, which independent of the ER, deserves a solid 4 stars.
I cannot say it enough: If you need an ER, seriously, go to Jacobi or even Westchester Square before you so much as consider subjecting yourself to this horror show… but if you can bypass the ER, Einstein isn’t such a bad place at all. And if you’ve already experienced the ER, don’t let that deter you from seeking out specialists or surgeons affiliated with Monte/Einstein…though if you’ve had to endure that, it probably will, anyway.

I plan on giving birth in this hospital and whats great is they offer a tour so you know where your going when the time comes. My only problem is when visitors come in they dont check your ID which I thought was ridiculous. my other complaint is when I went up to the labor and delivery room you’ll walk up to a window and there is usually 2 people there and they look up at you and ignore you! They didnt even acknowledge me. I had to say excuse me like 3 times for one of them to look up and the other one completely acted like she didnt hear me. But other than that when I went inside the triage the nurses were very nice and humorous. they quickly gave me a bed and the dr informed me I was 1 cm dilated and that I could go home for now. I was there for about an hour and half. If I had gone to lincoln I would’ve been there all day. This hospital is way better than lincoln!

We told you he needed around the clock supervision.
