The pizza is good, not breathtaking but it gets the job done, but let’s talk about the pricing through, now that is breathtaking because i could have spent so less on so much more in another pizzeria. 1st time i go to Giovanni’s, last time for sure, not because of bad food, def not, but the pricing is too much for stuff i can get cheaper elsewhere.

Ordered meatball hero & chicken hero. Only thing good was the bread. Sauce was your standard canned stuff. Meatballs were decent. Chicken nothing special. Cheese nonexistent. You’re almost forced to pay the extra $ 2 for extra cheese.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Giovanni’s has been a staple in the neighborhood for years. Now I live in Maryland and cannot get a good NY pizza(Pasta Mista in Towson comes pretty close) So whenever I’m home in the Bronx visiting family and friends I cannot leave without Giovanni’s pizza. They are the best.

I think that over the years Giovanni’s food has spiked downward in quality. Maybe they have new owners or something. But I’ve convinced our family that we will not be ordering from here again. They just keep raising the prices but the quality sucks all together oh and not to mention the driver had so much attitude. Never again –City island here we come !!

Used to be one of my favorite places to grab a quick slice. Unfortunately the service and quality has declined. No matter what you order you will be waiting about 20 – 35 min if your in the store. If it’s delivery… Take a nap and the food will arrive eventually. Definitely not on my list of must visit amongst other Bronx Pizza Shops.

Just placed an order here and got the WORST attitude from this girl Christina on the phone. She never asked me for my number. I called after waiting 85 mins for my order. She said the delivery man called and no one picked up. I asked what number they called. She read me a number that was not mine, and gave me MORE attitude! She did NOT apologize for her poor customer service or inefficiency. I really hope her supervisor/managers read these reviews because she performed her duties terribly. She also threatened that if no one picked up the phone after the second delivery attempt, that they wouldn’t come back out! As if it my fault to begin with! Order placed Sunday 7⁄57:50pm

Excellent helpful caterers. I had no clue what I wanted when I called to place a catering order and they helped walk me through what I could get for my budget. Quick turnaround as I called the night before an event and they were able to accommodate. Food was delicious and delivered hot they don’t charge for paper products which is rare in this area. Huge servings, what they say feeds6−8 people feeds way more! The only downside is that the delivery guy was extremely rude he refused to leave his car to deliver things even though we were told it would be set up for us and then he refused to walk away until he got the text that he wanted.

I have ordered from Giovanni’s for several years, probably more than a decade, and the food has consistently trended downward in quality and upwards in price. My favorite slice, the BBQ chicken, is now roughly $ 6 per slice. Those prices are barely justified in NYC, let alone the Bronx. The restaurant itself is not very clean, as there have been numerous occasions where Ive found hair in the pizza or a dead roach in the garlic knots. Delivery is another disgrace, as the drivers do not come upstairs. You have to meet them outside to retrieve your food and as one of the other reviewers said, what’s the point of tipping them if they take over an hour to deliver an overpriced pie only a few blocks and don’t even get out of the car? Avoid at all costs.

This place has the worst service for so-so pizza. I only come here when everywhere else is closed which is usually in a Sunday night. There’s always a problem. Now I remember why I don’t come here. Called in when I was 10 minutes away so I could run in and pick up without waiting. This pizzeria is located on Fordham Road which is a business district. Combine no parking and a bus stop right in front and it gets hectic. I walk in, no one asks to take my order after 2 minutes. There’s a man at the register with blood shot eyes that doesn’t ask me anything. There’s another man doing everything by himself while the manager is in the back with 2 young girls. I ask the only man that seems to be working if my order is in there. A couple more customers walk in and he doesn’t know who’s next. He asked«Who’s next?» I ask him again if my order has been placed after he takes another man’s order. I called for the girls and asked if anyone took my order on the phone 10 minutes ago. One girl comes to the front and says«yes» pulls the order from the register and says«it was transferred.» I’m not not sure what transferred means as there was a man at the register who did nothing with the order and the other man never once looked to see if there were any orders there. So now I have to wait for my order to go in. All I wanted was 2 slices with pepperoni and extra cheese and 2 cheese slices. Now I have to wait 10 minutes. Mind you, my child is waiting in the car and I am parked in the bus stop. Finally, my order is ready and now the manager is dealing with three other customers that have walked in taking their payments for food that is not even been prepared yet. He then leaves to the back again with the two girls while I’m standing there with a box of pizza, my wallet and credit card in hand, standing at the cash register. The guy with the bloodshot red eyes is in conversation with one of the deliverymen just happy that it’s almost time to go home. The other guy which was the only one working is busy tending to everyone else in the pizzeria. The two girls are in the back with the manager and it appeared as if no one wanted my money. Finally the manager comes back out and I asked him if he wanted my payment. He actually knew that I called in. It’s been so long that my so-so pizza is cold and nasty. This place doesn’t deserve my money or yours!

Found two pieces of paper in my food! Last time I ordered the delivery dude was super rude saying that it’s cold outside but yet he was INSIDE the car and had me waiting in the cold.

I order from Giovanni’s every few months to treat myself and my kids to some great Italian food. Well today I don’t know what was wrong but what normally takes no more than 40 minutes for delivery took almost 2 hours. I placed my order at 5:32 p.m. I spoke with Christina who was very nice. She said my order would take about 45 minutes which is no problem. I called again at 6:22 pm to check on the status of my order for which by this time it was almost an hour. Christina said my order went out and it should be arriving within a few minutes. Well I ended up calling back again at 6:42 and again at 7:05 p.m. At this time Christina placed me on hold to speak with the manager to find out what was going on and while I was holding at 7:14 p.m. the delivery person called on my other line to say she was downstairs. I do not live that far from Fordham Rd, about 10 blocks and of course when my food arrived it was cold. The manager did discount the price since I waited two hours and I ordered seafood which will be rubbery if reheated in the microwave. Now my problem isn’t the food the food is always great. My problem is the driver told my daughter she was told to go to Wallace Ave. which is way across town. The driver has a phone; my address and telephone number is on the receipt. If she got lost why didn’t she call to ask for directions? Also the cross streets are listed on the receipt as well. I think she took a detour of her own. I reducing my 5 star rating to 3 because of this. Common sense would have fixed everything here. I’m still going to eat my seafood even though they short changed me on the crab cakes(I was told 5 crab cakes come with the order I got 3) and there was no baked clams in the hot antipasto and only 1 shrimp. Needless to say I still love Giovanni’s and will continue being a customer.

They SUCK! The service is slow. The guy never warms the Pizza thoroughly when you go in person, and their delivery is the worst. My office ordered food for lunch at 1 o’clock and did not get it for almost 2 hours. We called to complain. They reduced the cost of the food by ½ but the delivery person called for us to come and get our COLD food. These people are a JOKE and the food isn’t that great. If this was the LAST place in the BX to get food. I’d rather crawl to Staten Island and back before I go to that place again. Oh yeah, it’s over priced! $ 13 for chicken fingers and fries. NOTWORTHIT.

The big issue over the past three months has been the price increases and the delivery service. No matter what day of the week, the delivery is over an hour and the food is cold by time it arrives. With that level of pricing and delivery, there are more options opening up on Arthur Avenue, like John’s Pizza.

I order from here a couple nights a week for dinner. Great food, and great costumer service. Huge portions, so definitely worth the money. I always have left overs for the next day. I usually order the grilled calamari, which is made in a delicious garlic and lemons sauce(great for dipping bread!) Shrimp cocktail, also very good. Just recently tried one of their specialty salads, the toscana salad which comes with grilled shrimp, avocado and crab meat… mmmm soo good, and huge too! Love this place! They also throw in a free order of garlic knots if your order is over $ 25 or $ 30

Just enjoyed Shrimp Scampi, stuffed mushrooms, and angel hair pasta. It was EXCELLENT!!! Only downfall was the delivery time. But my food was fresh, well seasoned, and prefect temperature for me to dig right in!!! Great job!!!

Had the chicken slice and thought it was all right. Not enough room to sit.
