I love Family Dollar stores but the one on Ogden Ave is horrible they were recently closed due to a rodent problem & since they have re-opened service is horrible I stayed on line for an half an hour if not longer the line was in the aisle they had 2 cashier then 1 cashier closed his draw stating he needed $ 0.27 before he could reopened it was just crazy unfortunately I needed the item if not I would have left not to mention every time you go to the store boxes are in all the aisle unable to shop very unsafe I will try not to shop @ this store poor customer service very frustrated

I like this Family Dollar. Wait… I like all Family Dollars really! I find mostly everything in a reasonable price.(Not really a dollar). But I can design my whole house with some of the nice, useful things I find here. Plus if I want to grab a quick treat 2/$ 1 candies, a big bag of cheetos for $ 1 or hot pockets 2 for $ 3, can not go wrong(Not really healthy foods =(but you get it). I suggest if you have just gotten your own place and don’t know where to begin or on a tight budget. Check out FD for a few nice things. I would call them specials but the whole concept is special. I have gotten keyholders to be put next to the door, nice curtain rods(like the reviewer mentioned above), pretty curtains, candle holders, etc. Good store… as far as this location. Only negative is disorganized. Other then that, can not complain.

Family Dollar used to be a rural staple. Then, it started showing up in the suburbs. Now it is in the neighborhoods of NYC. What is it? It is most like the old Woolworth’s or a dollar store where some things cost more than a dollar. Still, in NYC, the prices on many items are the same here as they are in the rest of the U.S. This is a good thing, when you want Pringles for a dollar, curtain rods for $ 2 or a pint of Breyer’s Oreo Cookie Ice Cream for $ 2. They even have some larger items. Also, it is the only place to have generic Downy Wrinkle Releaser Spray($ 1.50 vs. $ 6). Although it makes wrinkles less prevalent, the real secret is that if you spray it while you iron instead of using water, it makes the ironing go much quicker!!! Check one out today… There seem to be at least 20 scattered throughout NYC. They only take cash or debit cards(No Credit Cards).
