Currently in a food coma from eating this place’s food as I write this. This place is top notch! Food & service! I had a big craving for Mexican food & I noticed this place awhile back looking from the 6 train. Came inside & was amazed! I had the chimichanga with chipotle chicken & my girlfriend ordered the Enchiladas de mole poblano with chorizo. Food was mouth watering! Everything was fair price. Service was great, waitress was really nice & the bus boys picked up accordingly & offered to refill any drinks we had. The ambiance is good too, family oriented but I can totally see this place being a bit lively at night. Crowd looked happy to be there, working staff looked happy to be there. Good vibes and good food. I will be coming again!

I came here on a Friday around 6:30 PM after the pool. My friend and I order a large size of nachos which was just okay. I had a Corona she had piña colada with Rum and we ordered two sodas for our kids and the bill was about $ 33. This place is nothing special at all besides the mariachi band, but I think they were a little too loud during the daytime.

This is where I go whenever I’m in the mood for great authentic Mexican food in the BX.
I live for their fajitas and margaritas.

Ordered a burrito from this restaurant not realizing it was not the one I intended but my burrito was absolutely delicious! It arrived warm and with all the fixings! I ordered avocado and it was absolutely fresh and delicious with my chicken burrito!

I love their tacos. Their customer service is great! And they have much to choose from on their menu.

Highly recommend their passion fruit margarita and mango margarita. Food was great and the prices were affordable. Will be going back soon.

I come here every two weeks or so with my sister. One of my favorite place to eat. The fish tacos are to DIE FOR. Also obsessed with their shrimp soup and horchata. Staff is always friendly here and I love the authentic vibe of this restaurant.

I ordered a plain tostado salad… no meat, no beans no guacamole… just a plain salad with the tostado bowl… Cost me $ 12.50… I have lived in Manhattan and this place cost is totally absurd… Never again!

Love the nachos here and of course their delicious breakfast scrambled eggs, with steak is a wonderful morning treat! Shakes are natural and not loaded with sugars which is always appreciated.
I will most definitely be back soon!

Used to be good. Just tried to have dinner and drinks.
Tonight it was awful. Tamales halfway frozen, 17 dollar plate of steak? Meat was like cardboard. Utensils were late. Drinks were watered down. My hubby is disgusted with food and service and I can’t blame him. Will not be going back.

What an incredible place! Discovered this little hidden gem today, five star service, five star food, price is very affordable, LOVE IT and would definitely come back here again! One of the best surprises of the Bronx! I cannot stress how good the food is here. The menu seems to go on forever and you just want to try everything. I had the bistec encebollado with the rice and beans and they brought out a plate that would feed a small army. Stop reading this review and just come on over and eat, you will not regret it!

We came here because of the great reviews we read. When we tried the food we were extremely disappointed. We got the guacamole for the appetizer. It did not have salt or lime so it tasted bad. For entrees we had chimichangas, tacos, and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was the better dish of the three that we tried. The chimichangas had no flavor and the steak in the tacos was dry. I will not come back here again.

The food is delicious, undoubtedly. Most of the time I get delivery quickly, within 30 minutes. Twice I’ve had issues with delivery, the first time they never acknowledged my order from GrubHub and I had to call an hour later asking for my food. They delivered another hour later and an item was missing, which they reimbursed me.
Tonight I ordered at 9:08 and I’m still sitting here waiting for my food at 10:57pm. Again called an hour after ordering and had verified they received my order and I could hear the delivery guy arguing with the guy on the phone. I don’t even know what the problem was, they have delivered here plenty of times. So he says he will redeliver, tells me to check the food when it arrives and if I’m not satisfied he will redo the order. Why. Just why? I told him my food was already cold and probably soggy so please redo the order and send it out. So follow these rules if ordering from GrubHub, make sure you
1) call to verify they received your order
2) call after you haven’t received your order in an hour
3) go and pick it up the order yourself if you don’t have 3 sleeping kids at home

The place looks so nice with the brick wall and the art and show pieces they display. It really is a different feel when you enter the restaurant.
The service was good. The servers were very nice and the food came in quick. They give complimentary chips and salsa before you order so that’s a plus. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was pretty good. I could barely hold on to it because everything kept coming off.
This is the spot to go for great Mexican food. The price is fair and I can see myself coming back.

Very good and nice selection of vegetarian/​vegan items. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty and made even better with the assortment of 4 salsas that came out with our meal. I typically avoid salads (boring and ALWAYS pushed on vegetarians) but I was in the mood for veggies so I ordered the taco salad. It was gigantic, stuffed with lots of vegetables and a big serving of guacamole, served in a huge fried tortilla shell. Since I got it without the cheese/​sour cream, they gave me extra veggies for free and offered to add sauteed vegetables for a couple dollars (not necessary but a good deal). The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back.

They forgot part of my order and then two different staff members lied to me when I called inquiring about it.
Basically: I ordered on grubhub an hour later my food arrived. We were however missing part of my order. I called the restaurant and asked them to deliver the missing part of my order. They apologized and said it would be there soon. An hour later I called back and once again they apologized and said it would be right away. The night got late and I was very upset that I didn’t receive my full order. I am contacting grubhub and if necessary NYC consumer affairs. Forgetting is understandable, not delivering and blatantly lying is theft.

My friend Lana became the lead singer of the band P.O.D. (which is partly why they stopped having hits). She told me that she felt so alive now that she was representative of the youth of the nation. She even changed her legal name to «POD-​Lana», and opened this restaurant with the money she made in the band: Estrellita POD-​Lana. I’m not sure why it’s spelled wrong on Unilocal,ah well.

I stopped by here as part of a «Bronx Food Tour». It was pretty good. I had an Asada Taco and a Chorizo taco. They were nice and cheap, they were tasty, they were everything you’d expect from NYC Tacos, as in, not the best, but edible and enjoyable.
I also got a «banana drink» which was a little overpriced, didn’t have a great taste, and was way too icy. The chunks of ice got stuck in the straw. It was a little disappointing to say the least. So I wouldn’t recommend this drink to anyone, although it wasn’t awful by any means.
And if you have a pet Kestrel (it’s a bird) named Lita, then you might prefer Kestrellita Poblana, but if you’re in the Bronx and looking for some decent Mexican food, this place will do you fine. With 119 reviews, I wouldn’t call it a hidden gem. To me, a hidden gem is nearby «El Atoradero.» Best Mexican in NYC, let alone the Bronx. Try it and get back to me.
