Empanadas Monumental

Ok so this place has LOCATION going for it in spades. Right next to Yankees Stadium. Right next to Stan’s. The Empanada are large fluffy and only two dollars. Great! Score. Now here is where the place loses me. They named an empanada «Philly Cheese Steak» AWESOME! Read to try it! One bite… Oh man, this is just a regular old beef empanada with some cheese in it.
I guess it wasn’t awful on paper but I got duped.
Listen if you want PHILLY CHEESE STEAK … you either A) go the dam butcher and get the rib eye THIN SLICED! or B) Get to your local restaurant depot and get a box of PHILLYS BEST BRAND. Not Sysco. Not the crap that comes in «pucks» Phillys Best.
And for Godsakes don’t try to pass the regular beef you use in beef empanadas off as philly cheese steak meat. NYC is close enough to Philly where PEOPLE WILL NOTICE!
At the end of the day I got played!
The empanadas were okay and at best a decent value. But Please if the owner can read this or have someone translate it to them. Either A) get a proper Philly Cheese Steak empanada or B) just change the name to «Beef and Cheese» or even «Steak and Cheese» it will still sell.
But the name Philly Cheese Steak should be reserved for Philly Cheese Steak or at least a decent attempt at it.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Don’t ever tell them that they got your order wrong, they will refuse you service if you ever try to give them business again. I have never had a restaurant screw up an order, over charge me for it, then refuse me service for correcting them. Disgusting place. Spend your money with business owners that value their customers.

Absolutely awful service! I ordered online from the restaurant yesterday for pickup. I went to the store for pickup and was told by the woman at the front that they «don’t do online ordering». «Okay, that’s weird», I thought. I called the company I ordered from again to confirm that I did, in fact, have the correct restaurant. They confirmed with the restaurant and I was told my order would be available on 5 — 10 minutes. I go back. Get the food home. The order was wrong! They 1. didn’t give me as many empanadas as I had ordered for my friends and myself but 2. Gave me some replacements for things that I ordered without telling me. Whatever. I call the company and get a partial refund for the food I didn’t receive.
Today, I place another order while visiting with my friends and they wanted something quick. Clean slat, e I think. I place the order and go to pick it up. When I get to the restaurant, I’m told that the manager has decided that the restaurant would not be fulfilling my order because of «what happened yesterday». Yesterday. When THEY MADE THE MISTAKE??? Absolutely ridiculous! I’m being refused service because they can’t get it together! NEVER AGAIN.

First time trying their empanadas and believe me when I say they’re very tasty. Besides taking a few minutes more for it to be done but rather them freshly cooked than being left in a heater all soggy. I’m Dominican so coming from me loving the salchipapa and Yaroa i give credit where credit it’s due and can’t go wrong with these at all. A buen tiempo !!!

This place makes great empanadas I won’t discredit the establishment for that, I for one am actually a loyal customer I come here at least once a week. So my problem starts here I tried to call for a delivery order which is about five maybe six blocks away the store the man who answered the phone said no one

Ordered food delivery 3 times.
First time (1 hour 30 minutes!) okay, hey everyone makes mistakes right?
Second time (2 hours 30 minutes)
Third time (2 hours no food? I call, and they say they never got my order) cmon.
Did I mention by the way, I live 5 blocks away!!!

Second time having their empanadas And they were great! However, I had to wait 10 minutes or more for someone to help me. I think they can be more organize in servicing their customers. Besides that empanadas where on point!

The truth! They have riquitaquis and yaroa. Never had a bad empanada here. Very good picadera dominicana. Plus there is a bar downstairs!
