Very professional establishment. We had to put our family cat to rest after complications of old age and illness. I must say the young lady Alexa is one of the sweetest people you will encounter there, as well as the rest of the staff. They gave us enough time to say our goodbyes without being rushed. I would like to thank them for comforting me and my husband during this difficult time. I recommend this place highly. Bring your pet here if you want good people who care and make the effort to help your pets.

Go here if you enjoy a 2 hour wait to see a vet in an airless, overcrowded waiting room with kind but snippy receptionists.
The animal staff is compassionate. Not so for reception /​billing.

My sister saved a cat that was left in a box on the streets. We noticed she had wounds on her elbows once she was with us for a few weeks and we realized it was due to her sitting on our radiator (which we since have covered).
My sister took our cat to a local vet to dress the wounds (the third vet we’ve seen since rescuing her) and the vet told her that our cat had a congenital heart condition and she had the choice of putting her down or paying hundreds for treatment which may be futile in the end. The prior two vets made no mention of such a condition.
My sister made the hard choice to euthanize our cat because the vet insisted it would be best but they placed her for adoption in case anyone wanted to take her in regardless of her «condition» and uncertain fate; a «condition» which was not disclosed to the shelter when we found her later.
I WAS FURIOUS. We marched down to AC&C and got our cat back as soon as my sister told me she was still alive. This vet gave her a diagnosis WITHOUT any blood testing or exams. Just plain listened to our cat’s heart and pretty much said yep, pay up or put her down. The heck? My heart would be skipping a few beats too if you were taking me to a scary place where I could sense the fear of other animals in the air.
My sister did what she thought was the best decision based on a «professional’s» opinion. How dare this place prey on innocent people like this?! My sis knows better now but this is not her fault! This is entirely the fault of this terrible establishment that only wants your money and couldn’t care less about the actual well-​being of your animals.

Horrible veterinary! If you really love your pet, PLEASE do not take your animal here for any visits. I have been taking my cat to this office for years (when they were originally located on Grand Concourse) and they misdiagnosed my cat. Every year I take my cat for its annual visit and For the past 2 years, I noticed that he had a mass growing on his shoulder. I was told by the veterinary that it was just a hairball and to come it, after coming it out and noticing that it was growing, I took the cat to the veterinary. Once I got there, they said it was too late and that the cat has a tumor (cancer) and it was spreading. Not once was I informed to keep an eye on the mass and if it grew to bring the cat back. The veterinary insulted me and said it was my fault. The doctor also said that when the cat dies it was because I didn’t keep up with the visits. This is not a street cat, it received yearly shots and annual check ups. When I confronted the veterinary, he insulted me and refused to help me any longer. I went and reviewed a second opinion and was told it was too late and that the cat will eventually die. Please do not go to this office. They do not care about your pet, they are only about the money!

Usually i never comment on anything, but this vet was so rude the first time i came… and i wrote a nasty review… this makes me acknowledge that we all have our bad days… the second time i came he was a little friendlier. However the staff are the sweetest girls ever.

This Veterinary Center is a prime example of a business that is purely money-​hungry, utilizing bait-​and-​switch and up-​selling techniques. I was directed here by a pet owner in the neighborhood after attempting a visit to the Low Cost Vet Mobile (another horrible service that claimed they were open, though the doctor wouldn’t be in for several hours– that’s another story for another review).
The doctor we saw (he didn’t introduce himself) was horrible. I paid an extra $ 50 to walk in without an appointment. He was rushing from the moment he began. The general examination was rushed and poorly executed. I adopted this cat from a neighbor that passed away, so I had no medical history. I requested his ears be checked out, as he seemed to be irritated by them, as well as an approximation of his age. The doctor flipped each ear back for about 3 seconds, without using a light or a tool, let alone leaning in to get a closer look! It was almost comical how horrible this doctor was. He gave my cat 2 vaccines and explained that we would need a fecal sample for a test. He never actually gave me the receptacle to collect it– though, in the past, other vets have used a q-​tip or other tool to get a sample there and then. He didn’t even hand me the receptacle once the «exam» was complete.
I also requested his nails be trimmed because my cat is very testy when it comes to that. The vet tech took my cat to the back to clip his nails and the doctor still hadn’t checked him out to see how old he was. I asked, «are you able to tell how old he is, then?» The doctor replied, «oh, right… I’ll have to go look at its teeth.»
Upon arriving home, I see that FOUR nails hadn’t been clipped AT ALL. I called to complain and the woman at the front desk, though pleasant, was definitely trying to get around the office taking any sort of responsibility whatsoever. She offered the clipping of his four nails for free if I was to bring him back in under a week. It was not in my schedule, nor in my budget to take another cab back and forth within a week, to have FOUR nails clipped. My girlfriend had some daytime free and was able to get a cash refund for the nail clipping– because apparently they cannot refund a credit card because the office appears to be decorated during, and is working with technology from the 1990’s.
When the doctor finished his «thorough exam,» the vet tech handed me the pet carrier and the doctor let out a long sigh and asked the vet tech, «eh, alright… what’s next?» Not exactly the sort of tone you want to reveal in front of a customer– and hopefully not at all.
So…what’s next? What’s next is having to go to ANOTHER vet to get an actual exam done, which means having to pay out MORE money.
A few days later, I took my cat to the ASPCA– a longer distance to travel, but the same examination price. They found out he had an ear infection– I am guessing they were able to spot it because they took this tool, equipped with a light, and inserted it into his ear to take a closer look. Wow– technology. Amazing.
Never again. Do not go here. Do not give them money-​hungry people your business.

Let me start off by saying that I live in Yonkers and there is a good amount of vet offices closer to me. I was recommended here by a close friend of mine because she has taken her dog there for years and her bills are great! Well saying that much I assumed this place was going to be a cheap experience and low quality service. The receptionists and clerical staff are really kind and very attentive. They seem to be more of the pet loving people you want to interact with and expect with a the vet himself.
The vet himself… He didn’t really introduce him self so I didn’t get his name till the very end. He was nice to my puppy and checked her motor skills but couldn’t do much more due to the fact I was informed of her real birthday and she was way to young.
So in conclusion it’s a really great place and first impression is everything. Its a good vet place for the price… Can’t beat 45 dollar vists compared to other vet clinics… all and all you get what you pay for.

Took my dog today to get checked out because I thought she had a cyst according to the vet it was an extra nipple. ok the place was super clean however, the vet was rude. he entered the room without even saying his name. no type of respect I guess where he’s from ppl don’t introduce themselves. of course I introduced myself. he said his name but I forgot. his assistant was super nice with my dog, Hugging and kissing her. My bill was $ 40.00 because all he did was look at it and said it’s an extra nipple. I would never go there again. I found him to be very condescending rude and no type of courtesy. he’s short with a pony tail.

Very clean and has good hours. I took both my cat and dog here… My cat had been experiencing frequent urination… she was given medication and then given a «special» diet… We had to return and no blood work was done and they didn’t know how or want take urine so she (my cat) had to spend the night and urine on try… still not official labs were done.
Long story short… my cat was very ill and I took her to another Vet in the Bronx (Amory Cat and Dog) and they did labs, x-​rays as soon as I walked in the door. My cat need surgery because she had a stone inside of her bladder… I would say take your pet here for small issues not major ones…

I took my recently adopted cat here rather than the animal hospital I work at because she is so sensitive and shy, this is much closer to my house and would be less stressful.
I called the day before asking if thy had the FelV vaccine (Feline Leukemia virus) because we are fostering a FelV+ cat in a separate room in the house. They said they did and made an appointment for us to come in.
When we arrived the said they did NOT have the vaccine and that the FVRCP shot is «more effective» which is a joke and an outright lie. They still tested her and gave her the shots she needed but not the one that she absolutely must have.
They just wanted our money and were a huge waste of time; we will just take our girl to the vet I work at where they are responsible and honest. I will never come back here.

I have to say, I’m Impressed! I now know I don’t have to go to Manhattan [which is a pain to find parking] or to Westchester, which can be expensive. The staff, including Dr. Attlee Douglas DVM, was very helpful and accommodating; and what I would have paid for one dog, [about $ 300 for vacs and exam], I paid for two dogs. It was easy to find on-​the-​street parking with 2 hour meters, and the appointment took 1 hour and 15 mins. Even more awesome, my appointment was at 6:30pm. They are open until 8pm on Tuesdays — perfect for those who work. I went is for a simple check up and vaccinations for my 14 year old Ginger and 3 year old Walker — both pitbulls. They accommodated me by providing a room to wait instead of the communal waiting area.

I just came back from the clinic and I had to write a review. First off, the office staff & vet techs were a bunch of really sweet and helpful women! It’s unfortunate that Dr. Vyorst was the one who left a sour taste in my mouth. I called them a week ago to make an appointment last Saturday and i never got a confirmation call! So I rescheduled for Sunday at 10:15am, so far so good. When I got there they gave me a run down on their package and the package price and everything was perfect. When I get to the little exam room, a vet tech was prepping the vaccines and we just waited for Dr. Vyorst… after waiting and waiting, he comes in with no smile, no greeting and no conversation. He didn’t ask about my pups history, about heart worm medication, NOTHING. I’m a manager at a doggie daycare and I used to be a vet tech so I know a few things about canine care and he couldn’t be any less interested about my baby. He gave my pup his 3 shots and left. No blood work, no concern & mind you, my dog is prone to seizures so I had a few questions that I didn’t get to ask. All in all, the price is good ($ 112 for rabies, distemper & a half ass «examination» plus an additional $ 44 for his kennel cough vaccine with no exam fee!) but the service from Dr. Vyorst… thumbs down! My search continues for an amazing Vet at an affordable price.

I have been to this Vet three times to board my dog when I go on vacation. My dog isn’t the most well-​mannered pooch when he has to go to the vet, and the front desk and vet techs are always very understanding of this. On my last visit, the ladies at the front desk made sure a room was available before I dragged my 65lb pup into the office. The seating area and check-​in desk are tight quarters, so bringing a big dog in the waiting area with little dogs already present with their respective owners can be a little tricky. So I appreciate how they roomed him very quickly, lowering both my dog’s & my stress. I really appreciate that sort of attentiveness!
The Veterinarians? You know, I don’t really get any warm and gooey feelings from them when they enter the exam room and look over my dog. There really isn’t any acknowledgements or pleasantries directed towards me unless I initiate. Very little eye contact. Poor bedside manner all around from them. I must admit, I can’t differentiate the doctors (who is Katz vs the other guy) as they have never introduce themselves to me at the start of the appointment. I feel when my husband is present with me (he is usually in uniform) the vets are kinder. Chauvinism? Maybe!
& even though I wasn’t a direct participant, I am almost certain I witnessed one of the Vets make fun of a cat-​owner who was distraught that her pet was ill before entering the her exam room. I was sitting outside of the exam rooms when this occurred. I found that very un-​Vet like and somewhat disturbing? Not very empathetic or animal-​loving type behavior from an animal doc… Ironic.
And for those who are curious about pricing? During two of the three visits, my dog required booster shots in order to board. The prices for shots is pretty steep-​$ 40 a shot. And you have to pay for the doctor visit each time. Racking it up. Oh, and they advertise that your dog will be bathed on the pickup day of boarding… My dog doesn’t always get bathed. No biggy, but I notice everything!
So in closing, my impression is that the clerical and support (tech) staff deserve much of the praise. This isn’t a bad Veterinary office, but the doctors may be experiencing a little burn out sprinkled with heavy cynicism.

My family brought our dog Emma into the vet because we noticed she wasn’t feeling well. It turns out she ate something that caused her intestines to coil and unfortunately she passed away at the center.
Dr. Katz was the most insensitive and unprofessional P.O.S I have ever met. My entire family was in the waiting room crying because we had just lost a member of our family. Dr. Katz proceeds to come into the room (without offering his condolences) and show us a bag with what was found inside her «Here’s what we found inside the dog.».not «This is what we found inside Emma».just «the dog,» like she was nothing. Completely cold and insensitive. We asked to see her and he proceeded to say in the most nonchalant way possible «Oh I have her in the refrigerator in the back.»
Save your time, money and possibly your dogs life because who knows if he was this unattentive and cold towards our Emma and others. If I hadn’t been so upset at the time, I would have cursed him out right then and there, but now I’m going to write a review and hope they lose money because Dr. Katz clearly doesn’t care one way or another.

I love bringing my loving dog here. They are very friendly with her and every time they see my baby they go crazy for her. I have a Rottweiler which can look pretty intimidating to many people although she is a butterball and the staff just love her. In respect to Dr. Vyorst I have been going to him since he was in Grand Concourse and I trust him. The office is highly clean and the staff are friendly. It is what I call a Montefiore clinic for my Arizona. Their prices are very reasonable as well. I thank them for taking good care of my girl and sad to say that we will be moving out of New York, but if I had a choice we would pack them in our suitcase. Arizona will miss you guys. You have taken good care of her since she was 5 weeks old.

I initially was very happy with the vets here although I found the office staff to be ghetto. Gradually I started having bad experiences with the groomer, then with the incompetence of the office manager and office staff, which ultimately cost me a day of work. I also found them to be overpriced. I would not recommend this vet to anyone.

Very Inattentive and unprofessional! This was my first time bringing my dog to this clinic the vet on duty was Dr. Vyorst I was called into the exam room and waited about 10 minutes while Dr. Vyorst was loudly discussing something about a customer he had seen.
whatever he had to discuss with his colleague was something I did not care to hear, it would have been great if he did it behind closed doors Great first impression!
He walked into the exam room and did not even greet me until I said good morning. I feel he did not listen to what I was trying to communicate to him. He was not attentive at all. The only positive thing I can say is front desk staff was very friendly. I was really excited to try this veterinary clinic because of all the great reviews but I will not return. This vet needs some people skills!
