History
Established in 2012.
March-April 2011:
The idea of creating a holistic center of medicine emerged from a research study organized by Albert Einstein University in an attempt to quantify the efficacy of acupuncture on patients suffering from muculo-skeletal disorders. As a Pacific College of Oriental Medicine intern, Brian Salazar, worked at the 2 of the 3 Montefiore Clinics, treating hundreds of patients. When the study ended in August 2011, so did the treatment of all the participants of the study, thus creating a great need for a clinic for continuation of care through acupuncture.
August 2011:
Bronx Community Wellness Center was Incorporated and the planning began to create the holistic center of medicine.
May 2012:
After months of planning, fund-raising, and preparation, the Bronx Community Wellness Center opened its doors on May 16th, 2012.
From it’s conception, to its birth, the clinic would not be here if it were not for the help and support of so many people that believed in us.

Business Owner
Brian is the Founder and Director of the Bronx Community Wellness Center. His idea to create a holistic medicine clinic began after spending nine months treating patients as an acupuncture intern at the Montefiore Medical Group clinics in the Bronx.
Brian received his Masters of Science in Acupuncture after an intensive four-year program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the nation’s leading schools for acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbal medicine, and integrative medicine. Although his extensive training has prepared him to treat all the ailments that acupuncture is effective for; he focuses on the treatment of pain, particularly due to sports and dance injuries, as well as those stemming from emotional roots. Besides dealing with pain management, Brian is also certified in Facial Revitalization Acupuncture, a non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process.
