I absolutely love Behans. Super friendly and attentive staff, even when busy. Great spot for a night cap. Killer DJs thurs-sunday for dancing, drinking or socializing. By far my favorite spot late night in Woodlawn

Seems the bar discriminates against people based on their race!!! On New Years Eve 2015 a lady told the Daily News that she was denied entry because she was dark skinned!!! Its sad that bars and clubs can still be racist going into 2016!!! Please boycott!!!

Awful place! The staff here really need an attitude adjustment. They are an embarrassment to the Irish community of which I am a part of. Lots of homophobic slurs thrown around at a friend of mine who happens to be gay– that’s unacceptable and would not happen in Ireland. I had to weigh in on this because I heard the story on the news of their apparent racism! Shame on this place– karma will bite Behan’s in the arse!

Their bouncer totally discriminated against my dear friend and turned her away whilst letting her white friend in without even checking her ID! Ruined her night & not to mention her New Years. Completely disgusting!

Got the best compliment of my life in here. A man looked at me, made the sign of the cross, and said: «You’re beautiful. I’ll say no more». Then he let me alone. I love Irish men. If you love Irish men too, this is the place for you. It’s mostly dudes… until the crazy dance party rolls on! If you want to boogie, be here about 12:30. I danced all night and watched two men have a wrestling match.(It started out as a hug and escalated.) I’m not here every Saturday night, but I like to escape from Rambling House across the street every once in a while to do something different(dance to pop music and watch men fight).

A seemingly overlooked little bar that was right down the street from my old apartment. There is a quaint little seating area that’s perfect for sitting and chatting with friends, until, of course, it gets late and the staff pushes aside the pool tables to clear a dance floor– then, good luck screaming over the music. The DJ was surprisingly awesome and the dance floor was surprisingly packed… the drinks weren’t too badly priced and a super time was had by my friends and I. We stayed until the lights went on and the place closed– and so did everyone else, as the bar remained pretty packed until people were forced out. A good sign, if you ask me. It’s a very Irish bar, being that it’s in a predominantly Irish neighborhood– be prepared for some possibly interesting culture shocks.
