Blind and Shutter Solutions

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Lady came up in here smelling like an ashtray & booze. Not professional but decided to go with them based on decent prices. Extremely late on delivery & installation. Once they came to install, products were wrong. Kept two of the coverings even though they weren’t what I was expecting & decided to cancel the 3^rd. They refused to cancel & actually still owe me like $ 200. Will never use this company & am surprised they are still in business.

What a clusterf*ck.
That sums up my entire experience with Blind and Shutter Solutions (BSS). I got a card in the mailbox when we moved into our brand new home with bare windows. After the boyfriend and I stopped by Next Day Blinds who seemed very expensive I thought I’d give a local small business a try. The whole experience with BSS was comical. And its only funny because thank GAWD I didn’t end up ordering blinds with Melissa, the President.
Here’s the story: I had an appointment Saturday morning at 11am. I get a call a couple hours prior from Melissa saying she has a flat tire and she’s getting it fixed. Ok, fine. Rescheduled for Sunday at 9am. Sunday at 9:20 I get a call asking when I’m going to show up at my house. Um, WTF, I’m sitting in my kitchen waiting for you. She claims she was in my neighbor’s (empty) house measuring the windows, she got confused. Regardless, she rolled up in her car with really no real displays, just some small 6 inch fans of blind colors. There were some books and pictures, but the pictures were all stuck together and were like from a film camera that was printed at the local CVS.
She was All. Over. The Place. I’ll spare you the details, but it was exhausting… tape measure kept getting lost, confused which windows she already quoted… and then her cell phone was misplaced on the way out the door. She left one of her books with me and asked that I keep it on my porch for her to pick up the next morning. Ok. A couple days went by with that book sitting on my porch.
I get a call Thursday morning and asked if she’s met with me yet. Um… really? I got another story about her car being totaled Monday night by a hit and run and she’s getting caught up on her calls. Um, ok… I still have your book.
Well, for many reasons, (mainly because we just didn’t have confidence in the quality and correctness of any order we placed with BSS) the boyfriend and I ended up going with another company, Budget Blinds. So glad we didn’t go with BSS… who knows what our order would have ended up like. And besides, Budget showed us other options other than Melissa who kept pushing the Norman Faux Wood Blinds.
And I still have her book.

RUN, don’t walk away from this business!
We had several companies come measure for our plantation shutters. Three would need to be custom because of the odd size and shape. Of the three quotes we received, Blind and Shutter Solutions was the cheapest, with a middle of the road time for installation. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
The process was a complete train wreck every step of the way. I even had to get the shutter manufacturer involved because the owner/​measurer/​consultant for BSS was so bad. I knew we should have gone with Next Day Blinds for just a little more money, when the President of the company (who is also the saleswoman, measurer, etc) showed up to sign the contract on a Sunday morning obviously hung over, wreaking of smoke and booze.
It took three separate installation trips to get the shutters installed and cleaned properly. I don’t know if it was all BSS’ fault, or if the manufacturer shared some of the blame. I just know that BSS couldn’t keep things straight, would return phone calls at all hours of the night, and even gave us the wrong warranty card and information for some other product we did not purchase.
All over the place. The shutters finally look great and I am glad we got them, but I certainly would have paid just a little bit more to have them installed faster and by a more reputable company.

Still waiting on my blinds… it has been over 5 weeks (I placed the order September 26) since I placed my original order. The second time they came to install they brought two blinds that were incorrect and didn’t bring the one that was too big for the sunroom that had to go back to be recut.
Customer service lacks. When my consultant called me back after I sent an email to get an ETA for the blinds she said it had only been a week. It had been almost two weeks since the last install. She wanted to argue with me. She had no clue to who I was or the numerous issues we have had with our blinds when she called even though we had spoke with her each time after the previous two installs.
REALLY SERIOUSLY? You need to come to my house 3 times (atleast) to install the blinds I ordered? I barely get an apology for the extra times that I have had to sit here and wait for them.
Don’t use this blind company!!! RUN RUN RUN FAST!
