Originally a grocery store, Reservoir Wines has evolved into one of the finest full service liquor stores in the Boston area. We offer an extensive selection of wines, spirits and beers. Do you even know what «government-​issued ID» means? Yes that includes Driver’s License, Passport and oh yeah, PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD AKA GREEN CARD. As legitimate as my passport, if not more. Stop IDing people who are actually legal on the basis that I don’t have your definition of «government-​issued ID.» If I can get into bars with my green card, I should be able to buy alcohol with my green card. Easy logic. NOT GOING BACK.

They deserve one star for having a decent selection, but that’s about the only good thing I can say about these people. Nothing is worse than these people’s attitudes. I understand a stringent IDing process, but don’t give me a smirk and rudely slap my receipt down. The young woman at counter seems like something foul crawled up her rear and died. If you’re looking for a liquor store for regular purchase, this isn’t the place. Don’t give these people business they don’t deserve.

Reservoir Wines & Spirits has got a great selection of all kinds of liquor, beer, cider and more. The staff are knowledgable and you can get in and out very quickly. They are pretty ID focused — I’m in my 30s and am usually ID’d so don’t forget yours.

A STRONG word of warning for young ‘uns out there — there are better places to go get your drink on, without getting your ID confiscated. Some are even right across the street. *cough* MaryAnn’s *cough* Take one look behind the cash register, and see the wall of shame. Plenty of IDs, representing all the wonderful states of those great nation.
Beer here is surprisingly cheap, especially for the «this is going to be a let’s get fucked up kind of a night» beers (Read: Coors/​Bud/​Miller). The 24 packs of those beers are the same price as it is at larger retailers, like the Costco affiliated liquor stores nearby.
There is a decent selection of what you need, and the staff tend to be friendly without overbearing. I guess it helps that 35% of their job seems to be ID checking.

A decent selection of beer and whine, this store is obviously aimed at the main clientele: young college students. They do a decent job at that. My main problem with them is that they close at 6 PM on Sundays: that is just kinda lazy. At least there’s Chansky’s up the block and they sell beer late, even on Sundays.

A bit overpriced, but its location means it gets basically all BC students. And even though I’m a total cheapskate and would normally give some place that isn’t as cheap as I’d like 3 stars, their service wins me over.
I’m always a little nervous at Reservoir — we had a little incident where I was told that my very real ID was going to be confiscated — but overall, the service is very good. I was struggling to carry a bunch of soda from CVS, and they gave me a box and helped me back it effectively. They are always good about helping you find what you need.

Amazing selection. Staff is quick and always willing to help. Best prices on 6-​pack craft beer around the Brighton/​Allston area. If I’m in the area and out of beer, I’ll usually swing by and grab some Sam, Magic, or Long Trail.
If I need something quick and cheap they also take credit card with no minimum! This is great if you’re «That guy» and want to just pick up a Smirnoff nip for $ 1 and that’s all you want to buy.
Also, if you plan on going here with a fake I.D., DON’T! They can spot a fake a mile away and they will confiscate and put it on their big board with the others above the registers. If you’re underage, don’t bother even going here. You’re wasting space for the other legal customers.
All in all, a great liquor store!

They always have a decent enough selection of beer. They have just enough that I need to think about my choice. I have been to too many liquor stores dominated by the macrobrews.
They carry Stone, Troegs, and Dogfish Head. I am all set.

This place is ok, and they have a pretty good selection. But what drives me nuts is the fact that the white wines in the refrigerated section NEVER have price tags on them. Granted, the employees are always more than happy to go check out the prices for me, but it’s just kind of a waste of my time. They should just mark them in the first place to avoid all the song and dance of doing the price check.

This place is great. It’s location is awesome and for a city liquor store their selection is great. They carry both inexpensive and expensive wines and have a great collection of beer and hard alcohol. The staff is friendly and they remember you after a few visits which is nice.

Excellent liquor store. They have everything you want. They have Sierra Nevada Glissage this spring and is one of the only place I have seen with this amazing beer. I also love the «cash only» line. It lets you jump in front of a line filled with BC kids and their parents credit cards. Good neighborhood liquor store. Just please, don’t double park, I hate that!!!

Very nice selection of beers, wines and liquors. It’s not a pretty place, but prices are good. I love their one line, no exceptions policy, which is strictly enforced. It’s worth an extra star. Line can get long on Friday nights, but it moves quickly.
Also, if you bring your dog with you they’ll give him a treat! My dog now tries to pull me inside whenever we walk past. Great marketing! ;)

While I wouldn’t buy wine here, this is definitely my go-​to place for beer and liquor, as it’s just a hop skip and a jump from my apartment.
Also, this place is super awesome for moving because they supplied me with all of my moving boxes absolutely free. Just make sure to go in early August and stock up, because they run out by late August /​early September.

This is a nice typical liquor store. Very convenient location
Very very very cheap compared to other stores I have been to. They have a good selection of wine, including one of my favorite red wines, La Crema– for a decent price. It’s pretty hard to find this wine just anywhere.
Also, after drinking a $ 8 a glass Riesling at Fin’s I have actually stopped by this place to keep the fun going, and finding the same Riesling for $ 10. Made me happy and I will continue to get my wine and spirits here.

Compared to your typical liquor store, Reservoir is definitely the cheaper one around. I like the fact that it is considerably lower in prices and I have absolutely no idea how they do it, because they certainly are not Costco.
And I’m also happy that they have more choices, simply because Costco can’t carry everything in their tiny nook. And so Reservoir Wine & Spirits is on my list of places to go when I’m in the area and need a bottle of this or that.

Really only because they let my dog in the store and have dog biscuits to give out.

This place is definitely a no frills kind of place. But I’m ok with that. They are very hardcore with their IDing, which is a plus because I don’t want any minors getting their grubby child hands all over my vodka and tequila: eye twitch:
The prices are pretty reasonable here and they have a nice selection of wine at various prices. They have a bargain bin type thing, but the only annoying thing about it is that you have to by like 2 or 3 bottles in order for the sale to apply. Thank you for fueling my alcoholism… Their beer selection could be a little bigger, but they do carry beer other than Bud Light and Miller, which is a plus. Their hard liquors are pretty vast as well. They also have a nice selection of girly drinks (i.e. Smirnoff Ice, Twisted Tea, etc.)
They certainly pack a lot of punch into a small place, and they get a big plus because they are so close by.
