History
Established in 2005.
Colorado Karate Club was founded in 2005 by Sensei Willy Strohmeier to continue a long tradition of excellence in the Shotokan style of Karate-Do.
In 1979 the Strohmeier began training under Sensei Luis Chiock Wong, and after a few years later earned the honor to represent their country of origin, Peru, in multiple (WUKO and WKF** Sanctioned) international competitions, in a trajectory of over 25 years as members of the Peruvian National Team. Sensei Willy Strohmeier became a US Citizen in 1998 and went on to also integrate the US National Karate Team.
The Strohmeier brothers have been teaching children and adults in Peru and the United States for more than twenty years, training beginners and advanced Karate-ka. They are also bi-lingual, thus, students may be taught in English and/or Spanish as needed.
The Strohmeier brothers have now turned their sight to a new generation of Karate-ka, seeking to continue, in their students, their long, and outstanding «Tradition of Excellence»

Business Owner
Original from Lima, Peru, I began my Karate training in 1979 under the tutelage of Sensei Luis Chiock — a member of the Peruvian National Karate team as a competitor in the early 1970’s and as their coach in the 1980’s.
I also came to integrate the Peruvian National Karate team in the early 1990’s, and after emigrating to the United States and becoming a US Citizen, I came to integrate the US National Karate Team in 2007.
I began to assist my instructor teaching Karate when I was just 12 years old, and have continued doing so ever since.
In the mean time, I earned a BS degree in Computer Science and a MS in Computer Information Systems, working in the technology sector for many years. However, my passion lies in teaching the Art and Discipline of Karate, so after much soul searching, I set aside my career in technology to dedicate myself fully to Colorado Karate Club, and our student family, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
