If you’re skiing, hiking or boating or just driving through town and you’re in the the mood for a fantastic steak, roast, chicken, pork or house made treat go to Mr. Butcher.
I love to cook, and there is nothing worse than spending good money on what turns out to be a flavorless entrée. When we’re in Maine, I’m cooking for typically a big crowd and Mr. Butcher is my go-​to for great tasting, great quality meat. There is always something ready in the case or ready to be cut for you… just ask… the way a real butcher should be!
Definitely try the Bacon Explosion for your next appetizer, or pick up a homemade berry or apple pie.
Our family’s favorites are Mr. Butcher’s steaks, these perfect breakfast sandwich sized sausage patties (perfect for breakfast on the go) or slab bacon for a Sunday treat. The bacon explosion is crazy hot goodness and a crowd pleasing appetizer every time we serve it (no leftovers!). Then there is this wonderfully creamy blue cheese he gets that is absolutely addicting.
We also special ordered tenderloins for our crowd during the holidays and they were phenomenal.
Great people… a TRUE butcher shop.

I spend my summer in Bridgton and I will not buy meat anywhere else. Mr. Butcher has a great selection of humanely raised local meat with no antibiotics, no hormones and no bull. I was pleased to hear about their bulk specials and for our large extended family, this is a great option.
Nice wine and beer selection as well as cheeses, marinates and other meat essentials like onions and breadcrumbs, as well as some welcome additions such as dairy milk in the glass container you can bring back to recycle. Jim and his staff are very knowledgable and super friendly. I was able to get ground pork while I waited. What a treat to have a local butcher who knows my name when I walk in the door!
Bridgton locals are lucky to have Mr. Butcher in their town, and I hope they’ll support this local small business all year long!
