The Cake in a Box

This was my second experience with Cake in A Box, and they were both fabulous! I gave them my ideas and allowed them some liberties and couldn’t have been more pleased! Most recent they made a cake for my friends birthday, shaped and flavored like Fireball Wiskey. I was just expecting standard cake flavors and when they suggested we try to flavor it like it’s alcohol inspiration I couldn’t say no! All of the people who consumed it were amazed at how moist it was and how they managed to capture the Fireball essence in the butter cream frosting!

LOVE Cake in a box! After a bad experience with someone else we will never go anywhere else. Janine not only made the cake look amazing it was also DELICIOUS!!!

This isn’t your average cupcake shop. They have a standard set of delicious regularly featured cupcakes like peanut butter chocolate and red velvet with cream cheese frosting. On any given day you can awesome specialty cupcakes for t h e same price! Cinnamon strusell and anything they make with their fresh Apple cake for a base is my favourite. This a a real hidden jem and a must try.

I just have to say I love Cake in a Box! They have huge cupcakes for 2.99 that are a steal! Everything is homemade from scratch with real ingredients not chemicals! I have gotten several birthday cakes here. The last cake I got was for my great Aunts 90^th birthday. It was a lemon cake with lemon mouse in the middle with their white frosting. Everyone loved it! Thank you to Janine, the owner, for helping me with the flavor and size. It was perfect!
I have tried Arts and Cupcake Charlie’s and they both lack in quality! If you are going to pay a higher price for something from a bakery it should be fresh and not previously frozen or loaded with sugar to the point of tasting horrible. Cake in a Box has cakes down to an incredible edible art!
Cake in a box cupcakes are phenomenal! You can just walk in and buy whatever they have On display. If you just want a plain olé chocolate or vanilla with buttercream or whip cream just ask they will go out back and whip one up for you! Wait for it… customer service with a smile! They are always very welcoming and happy to see you. They will tell you what every cupcake is and exactly what flavors are in them. In fact I will usually ask about a few different ones repeatedly and they are so patient while I pick out a few. Hands down the best cake bakery around!

I am from Ma and now live in NY. I needed a cake/​cupcake cake in a little under a weeks time. I called and emailed and was called right back to set everything up. The owner stayed in contact with me all week by email and phone. And met every request I had. Making the long distant order and set up to pick up perfect. This cake was for my son’s wedding reception. He is in the air force and him coming out was a last minute set up. So I needed a cake quick. I was told about this place by my mother and a friend. Who have used it before. I am now in love with their cupcakes (I got a cupcake cake). I have been to probably a couple dozen different cupcake bakeries. Not a real big fan of sweets but I have a thing for cupcakes. I would def put them in the top 5. All my family live in Ma so i will be going there for parties a few times a year so I will be calling for my cupcakes on my way. Everyone loved the cupcakes.

I wasnt a fan of this place. However, I wasnt the average customer looking for cupcakes and such. I was having a wedding and this place did come suggested to me, so I decided to try it out (THINKING that this place would be doing my wedding cake, because at this point it was suggested to me!
I went there with my now husband and my parents. We had set up this cake testing well ahead of time, and told them it would be both my parents and my husband. And well you go there, its nothing like where I ended up actually buying my cake (where you have a private testing in a private area where you can talk!). NOPE it was a small square table in the front of this tiny place with customers coming in and out. And it was set up with 2 chairs and he said «I didnt know more then 2 would be coming… woops». Oh well – people forget we move on.
The cakes were medicore. My husband did love teh red velvet, i wasnt really a fan of anything but I am not a fan of sweets, so – this was all on my husband to pick! :) :) However, with my diseases comes weak bladder. I had to ask to use the restroom – and wouldnt you know it… they told me I had to go to Dangelos, right next door. You think your going to spend this much money on a cake – youd be able to use a restroom not get sent next door? Oh well, it was an emergency. I was totally turned off after that… and told my husband also.
We ended up some where in marshfield where there was private room for testing, they had a bathroom their customers could use, as well as I am not a sweet fan however even I was a fan! I think if your not spending os much money on a wedding cake – and just looking for sweets to fill your sweet tooth – then it is definately clean place, and the designs on their cupcakes etc were beautiful! Some wild cupcakes from this college town. Big variety. Lots of flavor.
There’s about a dozen cupcakes in the store, and there’s dozens more that you can pre-​order on their website.
There’s street parking, and there’s also a back lot down a side street. It’s north of the Bridgewater rotary.

My husband and I tried the Boston Crème cupcake and loved it… a vanilla cake that was moist with a cream filling and chocolate glaze on top… and a pretty cherry and pink drizzle. A work of art and tasty!!!

Yesterday my mom and I headed to Bridgewater to try Cake in a Box cupcakes. It was easy to find and easy to park on the street. We walked into the tiny storefront and the owner said she would be out in a minute. We peeked at the cupcakes in the case and they were so pretty looking, we soon found out that cupcakes I thought were fake displays were real.
We picked out four flavors: apple pie, red velvet, cookies & cream and cocoa peppermint. These were probably the prettiest cupcakes I’ve ever bought in my life. We dug into the beautiful treats and they are some of the lightest moist cupcakes I’ve ever had and a steal at 2.99 each!

My sister ordered a cake here for my niece’s baby shower. Instead of cake, they made a large sheet of chocolate chip brownies with frosting and put baby blocks on top made of cake. It was awesome and beautifully decorated. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other goodies!

The Cake In A Box is a great new addition to Bridgewater Center, filling it with delicious home made cupcakes.
Cake In A Box offers interesting flavors such as ‘The Candy Shoppe’, ‘Fluffernutter’ and ‘Oreo’ cupakes.
The owners (and sometimes their colourful daughter) greet you and make you feel incredibly welcome.
The selection varies day by day so be sure to stop in and try something new.
Prices are expected for a gourmet cake shop, and definately worth it.

I found no issues (quite the opposite) when coming here to get cupcakes on a whim, but experienced quite the difficulty when trying to order something. I had a bridal shower planned and inquired about placing an order more than a month in advance. I was told that was much too far ahead of time, come back closer to the shower. I liked the cakes and the people there so I thought, sure, i’ll come back closer. I returned two weeks before the shower and again was told no problem, come back a few days before. Both times I had given the specific date, the details of the cake and offered to pay for it in advance. I thought it was a bit strange this time, but waited another week (one week before the shower) and returned a third time. This time they were ready to take my order and payment, until I was then told, after weeks of ‘oh don’t worry’, that they would not do it because they had taken on a project that would interefere timing wise. It was very unprofessional. The whole thing. I came more than a month in advance and returned multiple times. That should have been a clue. Well, no thanks, they lost my business and I found a much better cakery near by.
