Perfect Circuit Electrical

Edit: I initially gave a 1 star review because I had issues with obtaining a permit. Perfect Circuit did finally file a application for a permit and resolved my issue after multiple requests.
Initial review:
I’m giving Perfect Circuit 1 star based on their follow through on submitting applications for permits. I got about $ 2000 worth of electrical work done in my kitchen. Their price was fairly reasonable and the work was done in a timely fashion. If not for their complete disregard for follow through on submitting my permit to the town of bridgewater, I would give them 4 stars. I got the work done in February and waited patiently to hear back about my permit. To my surprise, when I called the town of Bridgewater, they hadn’t received an application for my permit. I have called Perfect Circuit no fewer than 5 times to follow-​up and nothing. I hope that they eventually apply for the permit that I asked and paid for.

I had a fan and light fixture installed along with two remote wall switches and a regular remote. On their recommendation, I went to a lighting store and bought the fan, light fixture, switches and remote. They were all Emerson, an expensive brand, and recommended by the lighting store to work the way I wanted it to. After Perfect Circuit came and installed them, the installer said it couldn’t work the way the lighting store said it would work. He said only a couple of the many features of the fan would work using the remote (s). After Perfect Circuit left, I found a piece that they left on my dresser and didn’t install! That lead me to read the instructions and call the manufacturer who said that all the features should work on the remotes! I called Perfect Circuit back, and they had to come again to try to get it to work. They came, installed the piece, which later I found was the receiver! They were able to get the features of the remotes to work, but the hand held one still didn’t work properly, and the wall ones still gave us some issues. I called them again, and I was assured that the owner would call me that evening after 5:00 to make an appointment himself to come look and see what he can do to fix the problems. I waited for his call, but no luck. I have made several phone calls and sent several emails requesting them to come fix the issues going on with this fan and remotes with no response.

I called this company on the recommendation of my HVAC/​Plumbing company. The house we live in now, we moved into about 2 ½ years back. I noticed at the start that our electric bill was unusually high even in winter. With all of our heating being gas it did not make sense. At some point during this time, i started selectively switching on my circuit breakers. What I found out was that if I switch off the breaker to my sewage pump, my consumption would go down dramatically. After about six months of doing this I was able to figure out that somehow the sewage pump was drawing excessive electricity. I had my plumber and a person named Mike from Perfect Circuit come out. They worked in tandem and confirmed my suspicions. The sewage pump was leaking electricity to the ground. Somehow when the pump was installed the ground on the pump was connected to the hot wire. So even when the pump was not running it was drawing like 13 amps of power. Do the math, I was paying about 150 dollars a month in electric bill for this bad connection. The electricity was just going in the ground 24×7. It took Mike sometime to figure this out along with the Plumber, but they did. Both of them had not seen anything like this in the past, but they continued to work on it. Mike is a real good, nice guy and after all of this he did not overcharge me. Their charges are reasonable and if their other employees are like Mike, then they have great future ahead of them.
I did wait a little bit to write this review as I wanted to confirm that everything worked and it does. My electric bill is now back to normal levels and I want to thank Mike for that.

This is second time I called perfect circuit and I was really pleased with the service I received. They were able provide same day service and were quick and professional. They walked me through the problem and were willing to answer any questions I had. It had been over a year since we used them for an electrical problem and I wanted to make sure we used them again. I highly recommend them!

I recently moved into an old house that required extensive renovations in Plainfield. I was fortunate enough to find Perfect Circuit. Since the company was new to me I started with a few simple light instillations. I usually performs these myself but the house was old and didn’t have standard electrical boxes. Instead I was faced with plaster walls and gas pipes with old wiring. They sent a guy named Mike to my house. He was timely, polite, neat and really listened to what I needed and how I wanted it done. I was so pleased with his work that I decided to venture on and discuss the rest of the work that needed to be done. The house had a series of sconces that were all wired separately and needed to be connected. The challenge was that the walls in the room were artisan and could not be cut into so everything had to be accessed from either the ceiling or from below. He brought back another technician (who’s name is also Mike). Together they made what seemed almost impossible happen. They took great pride in helping me achieve my personal vision and brought light into a very dark house. We had extensive conversations about new products, the best way to light the spaces and they gave me options instead of just saying «this is the way that we do it». I really appreciated their expertise. They consistently worked so hard that I found myself wondering when they would take a moment to at least eat lunch. They were tireless in their efforts and ultimately made everything that I asked for possible. I feel fortunate to have found the «Mike’s» and to say that I’m a very happy customer of Perfect Circuit.
So that you don’t think I’m blowing smoke here are the Cons to the company:
The booking process is cumbersome and should be reconsidered. If you are having work done and it turnes out that you need an additional day you can’t book it through the technician that you are dealing with. You have to call the office the next day and see how soon something can be scheduled. This leaves unnecessary a lag time in the process and in my opinion could be handled better. Additionally most of the time when you call you get a tape, not a person and that’s a bit off putting especially for new customers. Lastly there can sometimes be a bit of a communication breakdown between the office and the technicians that you actually meet. We had one billing and booking misunderstanding but it was all rectified quickly and politely.
Overall I recommend them highly and will without question be using them again for future renovations.
