Peaches were rock hard, seemed to be picked too early. Left empty handed.

This is the real deal farmer’s market. They sell only what they grow(all fruit) and you get the best of the best. Because its real its SEASONAL folks, so don’t try to get apples in June. The fruits come and go. They make their own cider and the everyone loves the super chilled dispenser with free little cups.

Sunny Slope has great apples, peaches, nectarines and their own special fresh apple cider. All are available only in season fresh from the orchard. They grow several varieties of each type of fruit. For instance during apple season, they have winesap, gala, granny smith, fuji, rome, red delicious and more. They take these different varieties and create their own blend of fresh apple cider. The cider becomes available in mid-October when they’ve had sufficient crop of each variety for their blend. When cider is in season, they also have a courtesy fountain for free samples of their cider. You will have to control yourself from chugging down more than a few cupfuls. If you’ve only ever had supermarket apples or peaches, your fruit has probably spent months in storage and transit. You owe it to yourself to get over to Sunny Slope and taste some fruit that was picked in the orchard that day. There’s no comparison between orchard-fresh and supermarket fruit. Their retail shop is open daily from 8:00 am — 6:00 pm. Going to Sunny Slope is also a pleasant country drive for an autumn Sunday afternoon.

Sunny Slope is one of the oldest and best farmer’s markets in South Jersey. It’s a big outfit and they have lots of stuff to offer. In addition to a wide array of fresh produce, they have a nice selection of preserves. They discount their overripe produce, which are awesome for baking. I’m a big fan of their peaches and cider.
