We wanted to update our kitchen and went with Sears because we were sold on the product and the excellent service they provided. What we were sold and what we got were two very different things. After 2 months they still haven’t completed the job, but we will eventually like the finished product. That is why I give them 2 stars. The problem is with the project manager who sends the contractors out without all the supplies they need to complete the job. This lead to the first delay. We waited nearly 2 weeks before the contractors came back to complete the job. Once again, an item was missing so we’ve waited another week for it to arrive. During this time we started putting the kitchen back together and I found a gap that shows our old cabinets and wasn’t properly refaced and corners were not cut the right length. If you do hire Sears be prepared to be quality control. The drawer slides we ordered were not installed. When I asked about them, I was told«we have them but they are the same thing you have so we didn’t see any need in changing them. I’ll leave them here for you». I replied that we were having problems with 2 of the drawers and we would like those to be replaced. After thinking about it we decided we paid for them and wanted them installed. The contractor said they would do that. It turns out they were sturdier slides and we were glad we noticed this omission or we would have not gotten something we paid for. We had ordered and paid for a soap dispenser. When the granite was installed we discovered it was not with the faucet. I contacted the project manager and he says«you did not pay for a soap dispenser». I then contacted his boss who said we did pay for one and they would get one to be installed. For some reason, the project manager felt the need to call me back and say we did not pay for one. Working with Sears has taken a joyful experience and turned it into a nightmare. I read blogs before we started this and didn’t listen to the bad reviews. It’s your decision, but I certainly wish I could go back in time and pay attention to those who have lived through the experience.
