History

Established in 1937.

The Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home has provided dignified and compassionate service since 1937. Cyril F. Mullins Sr. founded the establishment on its original location, one of P.T. Barnum’s homes on Barnum Ave. in Bridgeport near Washington Park. In 1953 he purchased a historic estate on White Plains Rd. in Trumbull situated on five acres with a scenic pond, covered bridge and waterfall located on the premises. It was at this time that his son, Cyril F. Mullins Jr. joined the establishment working closely with his father to provide personal and professional service.

In 1966, the Mullins family purchased their second location at 1640 Boston Ave. Bridgeport. This historic house was originally owned by William Chatlas, a prominent builder of the decade. The funeral home is conveniently located to area churches, cemeteries and crematories. In 1986, Holly Mullins-Hart joined the firm, making her the third generation of licensed funeral directors in the Mullins family.
