History

Established in 2007.

Blooms began in 2007 when owner/​designer Cara Ewald relocated from Pittsburgh. Having studied floral design in American and British Schools, Cara worked in a number of Pittsburgh’s flower shops. She moved to Bridgeport in 2007 and decided to open her own shop.

Blooms is a family business.

Business Owner

Hi I’m Cara, owner of Blooms Florist in Bridgeport. After studying Economics in college, I became interested in Floral Design. I started taking classes at Phipps Conservatory after work. Eventually, I quit my day job to attend Hixson’s Design School in Lakewood, OH and Paula Pryke’s Flower School in London. I’ve been in love with flowers ever since.
