Special occasion prep– hair was AMAZING, but makeup was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever experienced. I sort of feel badly leaving a negative rating, but at the same time truly hope it’s a wake-​up call to the management to address a service that’s severely lacking at their otherwise wonderful business.
My party was in to prepare for a special occasion, getting both hair and ‘professional’ makeup done. I can’t say enough good things about how fantastic our hair looked. Even those of us who didn’t have clear requests were pleasantly surprised at how incredible the updos looked and held throughout the entire day. The hair stylists went above and beyond to make all of us look special. I haven’t been there before for regular salon offerings such as cut and color but would have complete faith in the stylists if I did. The hair end of things was just wonderful.
The makeup side, however, was just terrible. We were sort of expecting professional makeup, tailored not only for our special occasion, but especially for the important photos associated with the event. This couldn’t be further from what happened. It didn’t even look as though we had makeup on, aside from cheap eyes. Sadly, it was quite clear the artist had no formal cosmetology training. Requests for full coverage were ignored, the artist didn’t use any primer, slapped the same foundation on every member of our diverse group, and (despite requesting natural looks) gave everyone a smoky eye in questionable colors, that had melted down to our checks before we even left the salon. Requests for fixes and changes were no use. And the stylist sat typing away on her phone, oblivious as we couldn’t even tell the people who had had their full makeup done from those who hadn’t yet. Every single member of our party had to remove the makeup and start from scratch, after a few tears from those of us for whom completely wasting $ 50 is a bit of a financial burden.
Regretfully, due to a rush to get to our event, we weren’t able to bring this up with management at the time, but they should be absolutely be ashamed to be charging what they do for crap makeup.
If I was rating separately I’d give the hair stylists a 5 hands down, but the makeup was so atrocious I have no choice but to give a low rating. I wish someone had given me the buyer beware– until they get someone who has an actual professional makeup background, stick with the hair.

Have gotten a good men’s haircut here, from Jenny, several times. She’ll cut it just the way you tell her, and will remember the way you want it done for the next time. Very pleasant.

Last year I had my hair done for $ 150 at another salon and I came home and I could literally see the lines and splotches of hair color, I went back and the woman «fixed» it and it was even worse. Then they wanted to charge me to come back in to even it out. I went to Jersey Waves instead and Joscelyne fixed it in an hour and I absolutely LOVED it! Now I go to Joscelyne regularly, and she does an amazing job every time for an actually reasonable price, unlike a lot of other places out there!

the owner alyssa is fantastic! always aims to please her cusotmers. i have never met a stylist who guarantees their work! i took the recommendation from a co-​worker and so happy i did. i noticed that they use high quality products and hair color. if you’re looking for a friendly salon, that does quality work and guarantees it! look no further! five stars all the way!

Love all things about this salon. I’ve been going to see Alissa since the salon opened!.In addition to getting my hair cut and colored there, I had the opportunity to use their services for special occasions. My sister had Alissa and Joscelyne style her entire bridal party. They did an excellent job getting everyone finished on time. We had the salon to ourselves and brought in bagels and mimosas. it was a perfect start to the day. The atmosphere is always fun, the way a salon should be. The bridal party consisted of 7 girls, with completely different hair types, and everyone’s hair came out perfect and lasted from 9am until 1am when the wedding was over. Can’t say enough good things about the salon for everything from special occasions to just a simple blow out!

I have been coming since they have opened but I have seen Alissa since even before then. The reason I keep going is the laid back no pressure setting. I really like how accommodating and friendly everyone is. I have referred a couple of friends here and they are all really pleased as well. I highly reccomend this salon.
