I agree with Judy J. and had a very similar experience. The company handles ambulance billing from hospitals across the nation. I took an ambulance ride on November 1, 2013 and the ambulance crew did not take any of my information(at least that is what I remember). I know they took it at the hospital, but nevertheless; Digitech had an old address on file that I lived at for merely 3 months over the summer at school. Same thing that happened to Judy — I immediately followed up with Digitech when the bill was sent to collections(probably around September 2014) on my credit report, and I spoke to an extremely nasty and vile woman named Fran(she deals with accounts starting with DCOVE). She was extremely hostile after I told her that they were sending bills to the wrong address, and told me to take it up with the Creditors Collections Bureau whom they referred it to in Kankakee, Illinois. Fed up, I explained the situation to them and they told me to write a letter explaining that 1) I DID have insurance which Digitech failed to inquire about(but they wanted their money so bad and got that bogus address from who knows where) and 2) the dates in which all of this occurred proving that Digitech sent it to the wrong address. I sent the letter to the CCB and a month later(October 2014) they verbally(get everything in writing if possible) told me that they closed the account on their end and sent it back to Digitech. Reluctantly, I decided that I did not want to deal with it anymore and that Fran would call me back if she wanted her money so bad. Now it is January 2015, and I am trying to get my financial life together because college is almost over(thank God). I called Digitech again and Fran said they have no proof of CCB closing the account back in October. She was a little(just a little) bit more nice this time, but not enough to forget how bad she initially treated me. I explained the situation that she obviously forgotten(I thought representatives take notes) and she told me that she does not want to take my insurance because it was no longer in timely filing. Instead, she wanted me to pay the $ 578.45 as discussed. I was not going to let her cheat me out of health care that I pay for, so I called my health insurance company in which they said I can still file a claim if Fran can send in proof of attempting to claim back in 2013. Knowing her, she will probably say she does not want to do it or cannot accept it under some lie. Anyways, I am so sick of dealing with this account and going back and forth. I would have paid it if I did believe that I was wrong; but I am not. I hate when people try to take advantage of others; especially financially. If you have to deal with Digitech; just be prepared, call them immediately once you hear word of your bill, and make them take your insurance.

This company does the medical billing for an ambulance company. First of all the ambulance crew took all my billing information at the time of service, yet somehow only my name, address and phone number was given to the billing agency. I had to again provide my insurance information. I then called to question the charge on my bill for IV(which I did not receive) and I was given all these instructions on what to do in writing and they are not able to do anything about it. I informed her it was illegal to bill for an IV when no IV was done, and looking for a vein is not considered IV. Again — they can’t do anything but if I requested they could send me the ambulance record of what took place. I have been in the medical field for over 35 years and I have probably forgotten more than this company knows. VERYPOORCUSTOMERSERVICE! If I acted like they did I would be fired or I would have fired an employee who did not want to help answer any questions. Believe me, the ambulance service is going to hear my complaint as well. Please send your complaints to the Pearland City Manager and let him know what terrible customer service this billing agency is doing for them. Not impressed!
