Never again. Bait and switch. The tech says one thing, then they bill you for something else and tell you that the tech performed services that you were never made aware of. Dishonest, unreasonable, and unprofressional. A call to the service manager proved fruitless as he immediately was confrontational and aggressive.
Based on the amount of bad reviews here, this is not uncommon practice. My father relied on them years ago, but it must be new owners or a new generation of management because they’ve driven this company into the ground.

This is the worst place you can go to for repairs. The technicians are not qualified at all. They can’t detect any problem, all they say is change this and change that. I had a gas furnace which stopped working one day. First the technician charged me $ 200 to diagnose the problem and then charged $ 500 to replace the ignition module. Still the problem remain and I had to wiggle a wire to get the furnace started. They insisted on changing the gas valve which I let them change today morning and they charged me another $ 466 for that and here I am sitting in cold at night cause it’s still not working. I wonder how these people get permits!!!

I have had nothing but great experiences with this company. I would have no reason to write a review of a company unless I had a problem, but recently a technician who had been servicing my unit for many years told me to rate my experience. A few years ago I had an ignitor go bad in the middle of the night. I couldn’t believe how fast the technician arrived and fixed the issue. I understand that some people would be appaled that there system could fail even if it had been serviced. I chose to beleive that all mechanical things can fail even if cleaned and inspected properly. I am in the mechanics trade so I understand this completely. The service industry is one of the hardest businesses to please people in and most people are easy to pull the trigger on you. Three generations of my family have used this company. I continue to stand by them and I say shame on those who don’t realize the nature of mechanics and how all moving things can fail. All of my neighbors use the same company and haven’t had a problem either.

I have been a customer for over thirteen years and am very sorry that I have to give a poor rating to Carey and Walsh after recommending them to anyone and everyone that would listen for almost a decade! I had been happy with the technicians, and although nothing ever seemed to be fixed or installed correctly the first time, they always made sure it was handled appropriately… until recently. I had a new AC unit installed, which had not been working correctly since the install. Had one tech immediately tell me it was defective, had the supervisor at my home on a weekend… we have probably had 5 or 6 different Carey and Walsh employees look at it and give their opinion. I have been calling and leaving messages for Scott (one of the co-​owners) since May, when when I finally got smart and used another HVAC company, and was told that the prior installation (which cost me thousands… and about 5 service visits) was done incorrectly!!! I had the opportunity to speak to him, and explain my situation and was waiting to see what he would do to at least repair the Carey and Walsh reputation in my eyes. Apparently… they must be very busy and not need any more business because it’s now the end of September, and despite man voicemail messages, Scott still hasn’t reached out to me. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Very expensive, and not worth it! I have never minded paying for excellent service and knowledge… don’t like paying top dollar for shoddy work, and NO customer service.

Carey & Walsh came to my house a total of 3 times. The first time was to do a check up on the central air and install a drip pan switch. Everything seemed to go just fine. The bill was just a little high. Later realized the technician must have used my multi tool and never put it back. Also later realized the AC was not blowing cold air. I had to call for another technician to come out and look at it. It turned out the first technician never turned the breaker switch back on for the condenser unit. They tried to charge over $ 200 for this service call. The third time i called was because there was a leak coming from the attic into the bathroom. The leak ended up being of a unrelated cause. The technician spent a half hour, performed zero repairs, and charged $ 289. I was never informed of this extra saturday charge before the technician came out. In short, over a 2 week period I lost a multi tool, over $ 600, and never received a report on how my system was working (which did turn out to be low on coolant). Use anyone else but Carey and Walsh.

We had a maintenance contract with Carey & Walsh, when they came for the service, they hosed off our outside condensing unit and poured bottled water into a small hose on the inside unit. That was it.
We had no air conditioning for 9 days because they were waiting for a «part» to come in. The part was a control board, 2 months after they had installed the «new» control board it had to be replaced again. They would not honor any warrantee. Which forced us to call another HVAC company, who, had a new control board installed the very next day for literally half the price that Carey & Walsh charged us.
The technicians were very nice, the office… ugh. 9 days with no AC, because they could get a part. Totally unacceptable.

Carey & Walsh came in the beginning of the summer to service our AC. They said everything was fine, and charged us $ 150. Within a month, they had to come back twice to fix things that hadn’t been discovered during the servicing. We gave them a total of $ 600 in one month! The last service call they made, I was told that I was only being charged for the part (not labor) and that it was $ 185. I later found out that the actual cost for the part was $ 30. I would definitely NOT recommend this company.
