Somers, NY
Central Library, Brewster is a bit pompous. The roof of the library is decorated with figures of the Gothic style. From the looks more like a museum. Open to the public library was relatively recently — in 1991. It was named in honor of the first black measure of Brewster– Brewster Public Library. Currently, the library a large collection of rare and valuable books, divided into periods, but as in any other library.

I feel a bit funny reviewing a library, but there is something cool about this library. Don’t bother coming here looking for extensive sources for your research paper… but it is worth stopping by and getting your library card since they have a mini DVD ‘video store’-esque collection in there with so much to choose from that it makes almost more sense to go here than deal with Netflix. Also, they have a substantial section of ‘libros en Espanol’ so you can brush up and/​or learn some better Spanish. It’s a cutesy library, and an actually visibly appealing building in the middle of downtown Brewster. A dated but quirky, eccentric gem!

Berkeley, CA
Sweet small library, possibly a Carnegie library. They have a modest selection of books and magazines, comfy chairs and tables, and computers with internet access. A good place to pass the time while waiting to pick up someone from the train station.
