Integrated environments that encourage viewer participation and community involvement have always been the focus of my artwork. I started as a graphic artist and painter, but my work quickly expanded to include fine art and large-scale public art. Several decades ago, I started Weitzman Studios, Inc. as the entity to handle my private commissions and site-specific public art installations. Since that time I have created dozens of projects including outdoor urban environments, commemorative and figurative sculptures, as well as major highway installations and bridge designs. In 1998, I founded Creative Design Resolutions, Inc. to address the aesthetic needs of highway infrastructure and urban development projects. Shortly after that, I also established Creative Form Liners, Inc., the leading manufacturer of custom form liners and FŌTERA® color-controlled concrete.

Steven W.
Business Owner
As an artist, Steven Weitzman distinguishes himself by refusing to be restricted to any one type of art discipline. Many of his artworks show a true-to-life representation of his subject; other pieces abstract the form to become patterns that recall the subject matter. His career comprises an elite list of commissioned appointments from the Smithsonian, United Nations, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Arts Commissions and Universities across the country, a quarter of state Departments of Transportation and scores of other national clients.
One of Weitzman’s key achievements has been his invention of a revolutionary process for concrete and epoxy resin, FOTERA®. As an artistic innovator, he developed this new method for casting structural concrete in full color, producing designs of any images he created, and with FOTERA® terrazzo, he was able to refine the traditional process to craft two and three-dimensional art in 100% full color, all without the need for metal dividers.
