I’ve recently made the decision to become a vegan(I know!) and when I heard that the Italian white bread at Subway was vegan(I called corporate to verify) I was thrilled. So I bounced on over to this Subway location since I was low on gas and it was close to home. I ordered a veggie foot long on Italian white bread and watched as the person who was helping me out, didn’t change her gloves out when she touched chicken and then touched all the vegetables she put on my sandwich with those same gloves. Um… What if I was allergic to chicken? I’m not, but I am deathly allergic to tuna and had that been a tuna incident I would have been dead. I think just in general they should switch out gloves as just a health issue. It’s kind of disgusting. The rest of it was brief and quick, but I’m still annoyed that their $ 5 foot long is no longer just $ 5. I see Subway is taxing you $ 1.75 extra… Guess they joined Lil’ Caesar’s on that front.

After spending an hour or so at the Brentwood Farmer’s Market, the girls and I were beyond ready for lunch. It’s a rarity when we don’t all disagree on where/what to eat. Today, was no exception. I wanted tacos(I always want tacos, tacos or a burger), the oldest and middle girls wanted Brentwood Fine Meats and the youngest… Subway. Okay, we have all been to a Subway… at least once. So, I won’t bore you with what it’s all about. Just know… it’s a RARE occasion that you will find me consuming a Subway sandwich, but my youngest daughter is a huge fan. Back to today’s Subway experience… Subway was the final stop… after getting everyone else what they wanted. When I walked in, all I wanted to do was place the order and get on to eating the taco I had waiting for me in the car. Sadly, the line was to the door. A pair of tweekers(meth users) were at the front of the line, a gang of tourists(who wouldn’t shut up about their plans for cherry picking), a sweet older couple and me with my darling youngest daughter. The line was incredibly slow. Come on people… have you never ordered from here before… have you not memorized everything that is on the menu?! Finally our turn to order… Subway girl: blah, blah, blah Me: footlong italian, salami and turkey, shredded cheese, lettuce, olives and cucumbers Subway guy:(who btw… is helping someone else) we aren’t allowed to use two kinds of meat. Me: I order this for my daughter ALL of the time. I know you do it. I’ve ordered it here before. Just charge me for the extra meat.(I’m annoyed by this pointless convo. Just make the damn sandwich!) Subway girl:(unsure what to do… is standing there… bread in hand… staring at the showdown between me and the Subway guy) Subway guy: blah, blah, blah… new policy… blah, blah, blah… two different meats… blah, blah, blah Me:(ready to leave at this point… I look at my darling daughter who just wants her salami and turkey sandwich) I don’t know what the issue is. Like I said, I order this all of the time. Charge me for the extra meat. Either charge me for double salami OR charge me for double turkey. I don’t care. Subway guy:(to Subway girl) okay, we’ll charge her for double turkey Subway girl:(turns her attention from the pointless bs and begins to make sandwich) The Subway girl, who appeared apologetic because I know she couldn’t verbally agree with me, continued on with making the sandwich and eventually rang up the order. I have no idea if I was actually charged for the extra meat, as I didn’t care to ask for a receipt. I do know this… the entire scene was unnecessary. No, I will not be returning. There are countless other Subway restaurants to chose from.

My favorite Subway in the area. They have never been out of anything that I have wanted and are always friendly.

WOW! first impression was awesome! the girls back there were extremely friendly and professional. They made me feel«VIP» haha! and btw what a selection, no more just chips as a side… now they offer a bag of sliced apples, yogurt, cookies and chips. I guess for whatever your cravings are for the day. good job!
