Always a great experience here. All staff is friendly. I have been bringing all my cars here for years.

Too expensive for a generic service. They are twice the price of Horizon. She would not even discount any amount. A smog is a smog. Looks like I will go to Horizon tomorrow when they are open.

My husband took his car to be smog there yesterday and ran into bad customer service. They had a bad attitude and explaining what their policy was for having a reinspect after 30 days would not go back here. They just don’t have a good attitude as far as wanting to help out it’s a take it or leave it kind of attitude do not recommend. We also had an error message and they wanted an exorbitant amount of money just to hook up their machine to tell us what it was.

Smog Express always able to make a prompt appointment. They get you out in about 30 mins. They send the report automatically to DMV and they are able to process your renewal fees as well. Today they fit me in for a last minute appointment with friendly service. They were finished in about 10 minutes and they were fitting other people in as well. Diane at the front desk is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have had 4 cars done here over the years, no complaints

HIGHLY DECEPTIVE AND RUDE BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! I initially brought my BMW into Smog Express for a smog test and was told it couldn’t pass because the check engine light was on. I took my car to a BMW specialist. They ran numerous diagnostics and couldn’t determine a problem. They said the car ran fine. My wife called Smog Express, she explained this and asked if there was a way to run the smog and have it pass, even though the check engine light was still on, because the registration was now overdue. Carla the receptionist said, «Yes, bring it in.» I explained this again to the owner Mike Lucca when I brought the car in. They ran the smog and Mike came out to tell me that the car didn’t pass because the check engine light was on!!! I explained that my wife and I made that perfectly clear to them, that we were told by Carla it could potentially pass anyway, and that I would’ve never brought the car in to simply be told the same thing I was told when I brought the car in the 1^st time. I told Mike there was obviously a miscommunication and that I didn’t want to have to pay for the smog. With a terrible attitude Mike said, «Oh no, you’re going to pay for it!!» Then he looks at Carla and says, «She told your wife that the car wouldn’t pass smog with the check engine light on» and Carla said, «Yes I did!» THAT WAS A FLAT OUT LIE!!! WE WERE TOLD EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE!!! THEY FLAT OUT LIED IN ORDER TO TAKE ANOTHER 55 BUCKS FROM US!!! They would not back down. We paid and told them WE’LL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN!!! IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, I’VE NEVER BEEN TREATED IN SUCH A DECEPTIVE AND RUDE MANNER BY ANY BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT!!! UPON READING THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS THE THEME IS CONSISTENT — DECEPTIVE AND RUDE!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INCREDIBLY UNETHICAL SHOP!!!

Unprofessional and sneaky! beware. My daughters car received a new engine hood several years ago resulting from a collision. The body shop did not transfer the smog decal containing the VIN number and details about the car. She had no idea. She went to this smog shop to renew the registration. The unfriendly mechanic inspected the car and conducted the smog test and it passed. She was called to the receptionist to pay the bill. The clerk confirmed that it passed and collected her money. Once the transaction was completed the clerk informed her that while it passed she would not be receiving a smog certificate because the smog decal was missing. When my daughter asked to speak with the mechanic he arrived several minutes later and was even more unfriendly saying no certificate would be issued until she replaced the smog decal. He provided no help in advising her how she may do that. I contacted the car dealer who said a new decal could be ordered for $ 35.00 however it was not necessary that the car have that decal, it was not legally required. Further explaining when cars no longer have this sticker all the smog mechanic has to do is inspect the car for alterations. If everything was there and it otherwise passed the smog test a smog certificate could and should be issued. We had no choice but to order that new decal because. My daughter had only 30 days to take the car back to the testing mechanic or she would have had to pay another inspection fee of $ 65.00.
I feel this shop was unprofessional and sneaky. If the mechanic was not going to issue a certificate because there was not a decal why didn’t he tell her that before performing the test? The reason is she would have taken it to another shop who knows the law and she would not have been required to purchase the decal and his shop would have lost the business. I would not recommend this shop. The shop did later issue the certificate once she purchased the decal and put it on the car. Beware! Go somewhere else.

Walked in without an appointment, still was able to take care of me within the hour! Really friendly staff and gave me a discount for being a return customer! So my truck failed, actually fixed the problem for under $ 35 bucks and passed it on his lunch hour. That means a lot and would highly recommend to anybody!

Called, got appointment same day. They saw me at exactly the allotted time. Went fine. Brought another car in a month later, same experience. Will go back.

Boom! Walked in… nothing available… come back in one hour… done…car done… easy peasy lemon squeezey.
All nice people as well. I will be back.

When I received that dreaded piece of mail from DMV, my first thought was «oh great, I have to get a smog check.» The last couple places my husband took our vehicles to were not worth returning to. So, I did a little Google search and didn’t find many options. I wanted real feedback, so I turned to Facebook and asked a local group for recommendations, Brentwood Smog Express was one of them. I decided to give them a try. I also might add that in doing my Google research Brentwood Smog Express looked to be the most legit business as far as smog operations go.
So here’s my review…
This place is awesome! Great customer service all around! I called on Wednesday and made an appointment for the very next day at 9am. The gentleman I spoke with was very friendly. I arrived at my appointment right at 9 and was greeted by Corrine, the nicest gal you’ll ever meet. She even gave me the current coupon promotion without me having to ask. As I waited, I watched her interact with 4 other customers with the same friendly demeanor, it was very refreshing to see. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Needless to say, my vehicle passed and Corrine electronically sent the certification to DMV. This was by far the easiest/​best smog experience I’ve ever had. I will be returning for all my future smog needs. I most definitely recommend them!

I went in around 10am. I was not able to get in at that time. They had an opening at 2:00pm which fit into my schedule. Arrived at 1:50 and was out in 25 minutes flat. Very good service over a above in my book

Ive been here with three of my cars. Always had an appointment and always had a coupon from the local paper/​coupon book. waiting room is just a couple of chairs and water bottle. The lady behind the counter is nice and willing to chat. The phone rings pretty often with people looking for same day appointments which are slim. I never really talk to the tester (Mike) he is always moving on to the next car and I am always in at my scheduled time. I believe it is a test only station, so if you are looking to get work done when you dont pass you’ll have to bring it somewhere else.

I’ve recently used this shop for the 2^nd time. Both times I haven’t had any problems with the place. The one drawback is that they are on a tight schedule… local business owner doing the work himself. So, I wasn’t able to get in right away. Had to wait about 4 days making an appointment. No big deal just have to be ahead of the game, and not try to wait till the last minute when your registration is due.
Got in… got passed… and got out. That’s what I’m talking about.

I came this location for two reasons it was close and they offered a 1 free re-​smog. The location is easy to find if you know where Big O Tires is — simply turn in and they are the building at the end and there is plenty of parking. But. .. the lot is dingy, the inside bland/​grey and a bit dirty and overall not a very inviting place to wait while your car smogs.
The first time I came in the owner/​manager was not a particularly friendly, nice guy and would not have me coming back again. When my didn’t smog due to a funky problem with my VW and a broken dipstick I went and had some repairs done. He gave me a list of local mechanics but wasn’t informative or anything.
I returned in a few weeks and another man went to work on my car, he was fairly unfriendly as well and told me that my computer would not link with theirs. He told me to go to an authorized mechanic. I did. .. I went to MICON AUTOMOTIVE and they told me the guy just didn’t try hard enough and that Jetta’s can be a bit tricky but NOTHING was wrong with my car.
So my mother then brought the car back to resmog with this information and the guy again wasn’t friendly to them and tried it seemed like to make my car fail by trying to fiddle with a weird door problem I had to get fixed.
It passed.
I would NOT come back. I would NOT recommed anyone else based on the unfriendliness, lack of knowledge by one of the technitions, apparently not going the extra mile to help and dingy location.
One positive: Both of the receptionist were friendly each time I called to schedule an appoint and in person they were pleasant. They were the only positive things about my experience.
