McGhee’s Miniaturers is St. Louis is only dollhouse in miniatures store and studio. We specialize in every aspect of the dollhouse building, interior designing, furnishing, and accossorising. McGhees has an open studio in which all customers are invited to work on their houses under our one on one guidance. Mcgees encourages children as young as two years old participate in the building of their dollhouse.

History

Established in 2009.

McGhee’s Miniaturers started out in Crestwood Mall, as a part of the ArtSpace program. After initial success at Crestwood, McGhees moved to their current location in the heart of Brentwood. Barbara McGhee, the owner of McGhee’s Miniaturers, strive daily to bring back dollhouses as a beloved hobby. Mcgees efforts have not gone unnoticed. The business continues to grow, and children both old and young are learning the joys of owning and building a dollhouse.

Barbara McGhee holds a bachelors of science degree in computer science/​software engineering. After several years of working in corporate America, including leading a team in development, documenting, and testing and artificial intelligence system. Looking for something more, Barbara heard about the project going on at Crestwood Mall known as ArtSpace. Three months after applying for a storefront in Crestwood, Barbara got the news that she would become a new business owner. Despite the fact that she had no retail experience and no education on how to start and run a business, Barbara dove right in. Living by the motto, «Every mighty oak once started out as a nut that stood it’s ground, ” Barbara’s Irish determination as well as her love of miniatures has made Mcgees what it is today.
