Brake Stop provides same day service at dealer levels without dealer costs. Our services Is as simple as an oil change, brakes, 100K service, or even exchanging an engine or transmission. Carl recognized the need for a service center for today newer cars. The service and repair industry has change dramatically in the last 5 years. With cars lasting allot longer and becoming more computerized it creates a need for sophisticated service centers.

Brake Stop does alot more than just brakes, We are a full service repair facility including tires. No job is too big or too small.

I cant tell how disappointed i was with the substandard work and lack of communication from the Brake Stop mechanics My wife brought in her Suburban for a major tune-​up, belt change, and to determine the location of an oil leak. Unbeknownst to us the engine was completely damaged and needed to be replaced since my wife had been driving the vehicke with no oil in it. The manager stated we needed the seals replaced to fix the problem. Any competent mechanic with a conscious would have told us the engine is beyone repair and the replacement of the seals would not help at all. Instead they replaced the seals and then told my wife while she was paying the bill the engine needed to be replaced. The car had to be towed from the shop where it was ultimately sold for scrap. This is not the place to take your car for repairs.!!

These guys helped me out in a pinch. I live in Santa Rosa and work in Stockton. I was in Brentwood when my fuel pump went out. The other shops in town were booked up. These guys realized that I was in need and fit me in. They had my Tahoe running by the end of the day. Their customer service is good.
I’m giving them 4 stars vs 5, because when they installed the new fuel pump they didn’t correctly reinstall the fuel lines and it was leaking. I called them and let them know. They took it back in and fixed the problem with no issues. I feel they should have known better when they put everything back together. And that’s why they are getting 4 stars.

I towed my truck to Brentwood Brake Shop after another local mechanic tried and failed to fix my brakes. Three locals told me this was a reliable trustworthy shop. I felt vulnerable bringing in a truck because I am a lady and my truck was being towed, not driven. I worried that a shop would take advantage of this.
When I arrived at Brentwood Brake Stop, it was not what I was expecting. I was quoted an very good price for the work. At that price, I was expecting a greasy garage shop. However, Brentwood Brake Stop is very modern, clean and well lit. The employees are top notch professional.
On the phone I was quoted $ 139 for the work. After an initial assessment of my truck, they said that I may have to pay $ 200 because there was additional damage.
In the end, the truck was ready in two hours, which was half of the quoted time frame! They were able to salvage my parts! The complete job was at the ORIGINAL $ 139 price, even though I approved the charges up to $ 200.
It is not easy to earn my trust. THIS SHOP EARNED MY TRUST! They are super professional. They know what they are doing. This is my new go-​to shop!

This place needs a below zero as in freezing their all truly cold no stars for them please do not go there as u will be as is too!!! Owners own words to my mom and I“If I take care of my customers I will go broke” well «I told him if u dont take care of your customers you will go broke duh to him“Last words to me «Done deal» I’ve been a business woman my whole life I know why I’m successful my clients are first!!! Please stick with the honest Bus. People from here aka Bwood obviously he’s not from our lil city and his name is him now! Monkey Wrenches is right across the street aka the best mechanic/​tech shop in Brentwood an honest owner!!! Buy a car from anyone but him!!! Wow he named it right break stop just forgot the «you“at the end!!!

Had a coupon for brakes and needed an oil change. Called ahead of time (the day before) to let them know I was coming because I had a small window of time to have the service completed. They did a great job of getting my car in and out in the right amount of time and within my budget. We will be going back! Thanks guys!

The guys there are friendly and curteous and the owner of this place is straight forward with his prices and service to your car. It’s hard to find mechanics with integrity these days. Dropped my car off for a 60k service and a few other concerns.
I was aware that a 60k mile service for my Accord was listed for approximately 2 shop hours. When I asked them why they were billing me for 3, they didn’t have much of an explanation other than «Well, it covers a lot of stuff …»
They discovered I needed a new starter, and tried to quote $ 500+ dollars. I refused that price, but said to go ahead with the other extras they found, including a brake pad resurfacing.
When I arrived they didn’t do the things that I authorized and also failed to mention that the alignment was off on the car as well. When I asked about this the mechanic got defensive and continued to interrupt me. He said I was «such an expert» that I didn’t want to listen to them. Apparently because I’m slightly knowledgeable about my car and what service should cost, that makes me an expert. Right. That doesn’t give them a right to be rude when I ask them to justify their charges. I wish I would have gotten the guy’s name to it could be up here for all to see.
Overpriced, rude, and shortsighted customer service. Unilocal usually has given me good recommendations. I’m surprised this place has such a good review at this time. (4.5 stars). Not impressed.

My boyfriend took his car here after I checked the Unilocal reviews on this place which seemed fairly good. I think this is the first time Unilocal reviews every did us wrong.
First off the staff was not very friendly. The service was very expensive for routine maintenance which they only inspected everything but performed no minor repairs. The 3 issues my boyfriend listed specifically were not addressed, commented on or repaired. A staff member repeatedly interrupted us and refused to let either of us express our concerns with the quality of service. It’s important to listen to what the paying customer wants and not interrupt people repeatedly with a lack of respect for what others have to say. He rolled his eyes when I asked him to let us finish a sentence.
I’d skip this one. The Auto Doctor is a few doors down with much better service.

I have done some business with them for oil changes but friday my poor car was leaking something awful so I took it in at 8:30am. Carl told me it would be $ 95 for diagnostic and about an hour to see what was leaking and from where. He took me to the back and showed me all the leaks my car had (transmission, oil, power steering) and then went to work on an estimate. I really appreciate the fact that i wasn’t treated like some stupid chick and overcharged for something i did not need. He gave me his suggestion and what he would do on his own vehicle and i trusted he steered me correctly.
The time for the repair took longer then expected (which i hate but still appreciate teh fact the did not return my car still leaking) and Carl helped out with a rental car since me and my boyfriend are a 1 car family =)
I will for sure be taking my car to them again for any other needs and glad a place like this exists in Brentwood.
Update 9⁄6 so check engine light came on monday 9⁄3 and had to take in again on 9⁄4 and there was another part leaking which i was charged for the diagnostic. Today my engine turns off when i try to reverse out of a parking spot three times. I have to take the car elsewhere because it has spent more time at the shop and it still comes back broken. Its a shame because i really liked that shop.

This is one of the best places I’ve ever had work done on my car, hands down. Not only are they friendly and honest they do exceptional work. If you bring in your own parts, they will still fix your car with the parts you bring in and only charge you for labor. They go OUT of their way to be helpful and to save you the most money without doing a shotty job. I highly recommend this Service station to anyone who needs work done on their car. They are fair in their pricing, on time and friendly. Truly good service, my husband and I are very pleased and will return –every– time we need something fixed on our car.

There was a coupon in my mail from this shop, so I came in for an alignment on my SUV. I called ahead to find out the best time to stop by, and since it was mid Saturday, they said 3. It took 45min for them to finish other vehicles to get to mine, which I guess it how it goes at these places.
All in all, they did a good job. The print out of the before and after measurements was new to me and very slick! Glad I stopped by because my vehicle needed it. I will probably choose this location again for services I can’t or won’t do myself.

Well it was about time to replace my rear brake pads, there were grinding a bit since yesterday. Both my rotors needed replacing. They were heat damaged. I guess I should remove some weight from my van… I have run across this condition before doing research, so I knew what it was instantly when they informed me, viewed my rotors. I watched they mechanic the entire process. I have had several bad brake jobs in the past!!! The only thing that I would have them do different is turn over the hub caps over… Every single mechanic has laid them on the outside. I haven’t got foggiest idea why mechanics do this, it makes no sense to me??? Plus it scratches the shit out of the cap. Fortunately he did not throw the lug nuts in the cap and slide the hup under the van. They did everything correct. Greasing the pads on the end where they slide, Clean the entire assembly, Use a torque wrench instead of the powerful air gun that strips bolts. Carl & Nick run a fantastic shop, easy going, friendly & fair priced. In and out in 3 hours, they had to order parts twice due to the rotors. One of the best experiences that I have ever had. I will go there in a heartbeat. Use there coupon on there website!

Let’s face it: It’s hard to find a trusting mechanic these days. Especially since I am a female I always assume they are going to mislead me. Since I know a little about cars, I wasn’t surprised at all when they told me what was wrong with my car.
I have brought my car here twice. Once, when I first purchased it to have all over all inspection and second when I started to notice the front brakes weaken. These guys say true to their word. I had some old work taken a look at as well, and since it had been within the 6 month warranty I was able to get another alignment & my belts tightened all free of charge!
I do not feel like their prices are over the top, or too much to ask, I understand they need to make their money as well.
The customer service is great and they really take the time to listen to find out whats wrong.
This place is the shop to take your car to in the Brentwood/​Oakley area :)

This is the long and the short of it. I was quoted $ 100.00 more for my brakes somewhere else. These are not times to throw good money out for no reason.
I looked around for a local place to do my brakes. Called with a coupon in hand… had everything done within 3 hours. Everything is working just great and Carl was straight up about the whole job.

These guys know what they are doing and are going to be straight up with you. I came to them to figure out what was causing my check engine light to come on. They explained that the diagnostic would cost $ 95 (one hour of labor), and if repairs were necessary, they would credit me the $ 95.
It turned out that I needed a new catalytic converter (ouch). The people there spent 30 minutes looking for a CA approved converter (which for my car, isn’t an easy feat). They quickly picked up the part and installed it.
Now, my check engine light is gone and my car passed smog. I am definitely coming back when I can afford to do more work on my car.
