History
Established in 2010.
The first and only shoe store in an Airstream trailer.
Founded in 2010 by stylist Sarah Ellison Lewis, BOOTLEG Airstream (originally BOOTLEG Austin) officially opened in the spring of 2011. After styling in New York City for more than 10 years, her restless entrepreneurial spirit had the Texas ex-pat craving a more effective outlet. Upon returning to her beloved home state, she gutted and filled a vintage Airstream with fun, unique AND high-fashion shoes … and, in her words, «the people came.» The rest is storied history.
BOOTLEG Airstream: A Fine Footwear Fête, has been featured by The Today Show, the AP Wire, Huffington Post, InStyle, Conde Nast Traveler, Nylon, Racked.com, and a favorite of blogger Jane Aldridge of Sea Of Shoes. BOOTLEG offers customers impeccably-curated, high fashion footwear from all over the world.
Originally on Austin’s famous South Congress Ave, we’ve taken this show on the road.
