In 2002, Allen Dave decided to change careers from the newspaper industry to the death care industry. He made a very difficult decision to resign as a department manager with 28 years of employment or contractor services with the Houston Chronicle Publishing Company to enroll in mortuary school to allow his personal career to grow. In addition, he owned a wedding event business and a video production company that was sold to finance his education and funeral home vision.

He passed the International Conference of Funeral Service Examine Board the first time and scored high on the Texas Law Exam.

Allen L. Dave, Jr. graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services in 2003 with high honors and received Todd W. Van Beck President’s Award in Funeral Service Management and the Most Impressive Perf
