Before we go any further, let’s talk about the lunch rush. It’s brutal! If you’re going at peak lunch time you’ll be waiting a while and will surely not have anywhere to sit inside as there are only a handful of seats. Between the shipyard, other local businesses and ferry waiters it gets crowded. Onto the food, it’s good. I wouldn’t wait 30 minutes in line if I had a car and could go elsewhere but if you can manage to come before/after the rush, definitely do! The poke bowl was yummy although it was mostly rice. I was hoping for another rice option but they only have plain, white rice. Okay. Tempura green beans are perfection. We paid nearly $ 30 for lunch. A little on the high side but we’ll be back from time to time. Side note: they do have a grab and go section with sushi if you are in a hurry.

This little place is a gem! Some of the best, melt in your mouth sushi I’ve ever had. The service was pretty quick for a walk-in take out, and they were friendly. The seaweed salad was a little small, but the salmon nigiri was near perfection. Great quality, low price. Excellent.

I heard about this place from a friend, and because it’s in downtown Bremerton next to the ferry, I was honestly a bit skeptical. But oh my goodness this place is awesome! Their sushi is very decently priced, and surprisingly delicious! Their customer service every time I come in is always superb, and they really make you feel welcome. Their hours are a bit odd, but they really don’t interfere with whenever I want to come in for a bite, so it’s not really a problem for me. 10⁄10 will always visit again!

Love this place, it is a great«mom and pop» sushi restaurant. Plus they are from Okinawa!

Had the California roll and spicy tuna! Both great rolls and nice sized. Perfect spot to grab something while waiting for ferry. We will definitely stop here when ever passing through.

Small place, quick service(Wednesday mid-day), very nice prices($ 20 for two). Rolls tasty but not outstanding(based on 1 visit). If we ever look for food in Bremerton, we’ll probably stop by again.

Conveniently located near Bremerton Terminal Ferry on the corner of 1st St and Washington Beach Ave. In my opinion, Ichizen and Happy Teriyaki & Sushi(less than a mile away) are probably the top 2 for me in the Bremerton area Ichizen is a very small restaurant with a total of 11 seats. Not the best for dine-in but fantastic for quick grab n’ go. The sushi is hand made fresh everyday and you can taste it too My girlfriend and I decided to order their medium size dine platter dish($ 29.95) which we saw them make in front of us, piece by piece. Dining in was alright, was quite warm. I didn’t sweat while eating so that’s good. The platter dish came with a total of 40 pieces of sushi. Yes I counted them the platter came with California rolls, tuna roll, cucumber roll, scallop roll, shrimp nigiri, salmon nigiri, albacore nigiri, tuna nigiri and my two favorites, eel nigiri and smoked salmon roll. Overall, this place is humbly awesome! Customer service/courtesy is on point. Water is self served which is located in the back with pitchers and there’s also a large selection of fresh sushi for grab n’ go. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.

Not a ton of options, but what they do have is fresh and good! A pleasant surprise, for sure. The ahi poki was very filling — fish over rice mixed with seaweed. At 12.95 for a big bowl I consider the price mid-range for lunch in this area, but plenty big enough to satisfy my appetite. It is great to have a good sushi place right downtown and close to the ferry! It is a very small restaurant with only a few tables, so I imagine it may get crowded at times…

Holly crap, that was the best sushi and ramen I have had in a long time. I took a little long to get the food out but it was worth it. Price is not bad in comparison to other sushi places in the area. Will definitively come back for more.

Definitely as real as it gets when it comes to authentic sushi in Bremerton, High quality, fresh ingredients, your food made to order, ultra friendly clientele, I really like stopping by this place for lunch. I’m especially a fan of their Rainbow rolls, most notably the shrimp and the tuna. A great spot for sushi in downtown Bremerton. My ONLY small ‘complaint’ is that I wish there were more drink options to wash my sushi down. The Ramune is great, but that’s only one drink, and I can down one in a second. Other than that though, the food itself is fantastic.

Stopped by for lunch based on Unilocal reviews. Service is terrific. Nice café tables out front which I enjoyed on this beautiful sunny day. Do not miss the Ahii Tuna poke! The tuna was so fresh. Seaweed salad and dressing were perfect. It’s a generous size – enough to share, especially for lunch.

Will definitely come here again. My husband and I both ordered the ramen and we shared the cream cheese salmon roll. The ramen was perfect the noodles they use are amazing. The sushi roll was very fresh and creamy.

This is a fast, stop-on-the-go, little sushi place. The fish quality here was spot on, better than almost anything I’d ever had. It’s just about right across the street from the Ferry terminal, so it’s convenient if you just made the trip and are looking for some good food. I ordered the ahi poke donburi and OHMYGOD it was basically perfect. The seasoning, the very light dressing, my only complaint is that my rice was not sticky enough to easily eat with chopsticks. My boyfriend’s rice was though, so maybe I just got a weird bowl. The restaurant has seating for about 16 people total; a couple high tops, and a long bar that runs along the windows. Customer turnover is very fast — it took 12 minutes from walking in to getting our food and finishing. The women working there were so pleasant, very nice ladies! I’m really upset that I didn’t find Ichizen until my last day in Bremerton. I would have gone every day if only I’d known. Until next time, I’ll be dreaming of this place.

Pretty darn delicious sushi. We eat family style and we get a bit of this, some of that and we sat in the window on a nice warm day. The ladies behind the counter were just a joy. The price of the sushi was reasonable and my son who is the pickiest eater in the entire world, finished his soft shell crab, tempura, fish eggs and even nibbled off my nigiri. It was the perfect lunch to start off a wonderful day.

Dropped in for lunch with a party of three. Called ahead for two sushi platters and three orders of miso soup ready at 13:00. The meal was excellent and the conversation betwen three friends was worth it. Ichizen is by far one of the best sushi resturants in the Puget sound area. Customer service and satisfaction ranks a 5. The only problem I see is that Ichizen is small for dining in: three tables and a counter with room for six more people. A majority of their lunch business is carry out and they have a great reputation with the locals.

Stopped in for lunch today and it wasn’t bad. Like everyone else says, there are two Japanese ladies that work in the back. The service is not quick but the food is great. Expect to sit and wait, watch the people traffic from the ferry. It is worth it. I had the yakisoba combo, a rainbow roll, and the pot of green tea. Plenty of food for a solo diner. I’d come back here and try so of the other rolls. Prices weren’t bad and food quality was good.

DELICIOUS sushi! My friends and I went there for a girls’ night out. The service is great, the two ladies that were there are just so sweet and generous. The prices are amazing. The space is quite small but very cute and comfortable. It takes a while to get your food if you order sushi but it is perfect and totally worth the wait. They close pretty early so it’s not a late night hang out spot. But it’s worth going for super awesome food! Not just sushi. Their Pot stickers are great!

Cheap, delicious, satifying, authentic. Ichizen is just so good! What sucks is that there are only two ladies working at all times, so it does take a little while to get your rolls. Also, since it is downtown by the ferry, it’s hard to find parking. Also, it is a pretty small place, so sometimes there may not be seats! Other than that, this joint is just perfect!

Authentic, delicious sushi and polite workers: D I took away one star because once 4 oclock hits on a weekday, they run out of fish within two hours, are jam packed with order and that means about an hour wait for you. Which i understand, the place is delicious and such a good price.

Really great & unassuming spot for sushi. The ladies working are always friendly & helpful. It’s more of a self-serve kind of place so don’t expect full-service. Their menu has nigiri, several rolls(basic & special, such as rainbow roll), & bento boxes. They even have several hot dishes like katsu curry bowls. Their prices are a huge draw; most if not all dishes are under $ 10 so you can get plenty of food for two under $ 20! Overall, great prices, quality sushi & food, & friendly people. Nice to sit & watch the ferry traffic.
