History
Established in 2004.
Wake Robin Alpacas has been home to a beautiful multi-champion alpaca herd since 2004. Over the years we have added heritage breed chickens, Great Pyrenees dogs, Italian honeybees, and Sebastopol geese to our farm family. Other residents include our beloved Havanese dog, Lachlan, and our hard working barn cats. We planted a vineyard of wine grapes in the spring of 2013, bringing back the wonderful heritage of vineyards in Haralson County from the late 1800’s. The tasting room at Trillium Vineyard will be open soon.
As pharmacists, we decided to name our farm and crias (baby alpacas) for medicinal herbs and wildflowers. Wake Robin is the common name for the trillium, a wildflower that grows in this area. It blooms in the spring; therefore, it «wakes the robins». The wake robin plant has three petals, three leaves, and three sepals. Thus, it is symbolic of the Trinity which heralds our Christian faith.
