I waited for over an hour and a half for food, never ended up receiving it as we had to leave. Owner is very hostile. Food was pretty good in the past, not sure what happened…

This is an up north bar and it lives up to that expectation. The food was fine. We had hamburgers. The service fine. The atmosphere was up north bar. OK beer selection. This is not the kind of place we normally pick but someone we were with likes it. So do not take the 3 stars as a bad thing. Just not what will get higher from me.

Food is pretty average but being up north there is not a lot of decent food options at a reasonable price so my family has been here several times. However, our visit the other week will be our last. First, let me say that our waitress was wonderful and tried so hard to make the awful situation better! However, her service did not make up for the 2 and a half hour wait for food. I am not joking it took that long for our group of 7 to get hamburgers. Now I understand that restaurants can get busy and sometimes it can take awhile for food but no one informed us that we would have a long wait when we sat down and we were constantly told it would only be 20 more minutes. There were even people that were busing their own tables because the place was so behind on everything! When trying to speak with the manager about how it could possibly take so long he responded in a rude tone that they were behind. Our waitress offered us free drinks for the inconvenience only to charge us for them in the end because the manager would not let her comp them. After 2 and a half hours with still no food I left without dinner. I completely understand that sometimes restaurants are understaffed but really 2 and a half hours for food plus an extremely rude manager is not forgivable. Do NOT eat here!

Food is extremely average for the price. A ceaser wrap is 13 dollars with chicken– seriously? When my boyfriend and I were there the bartender only payed attention to the«regulars» and had no time for«city folk». We will most likey just go back for the outdoor patio games but this is the second time we have been disappointed with the food. We ordered the expensive ceaser wrap and got a Cobb wrap instead but we notice until we got home– just not good. Don’t expect much.

Food is ok. Drinks are overpriced and not very cold. The waitresses only care about their regulars and their needs. Not a good place for vacationers or out-of-towners.

Had a surprisingly bad meal… On the night we were there, one of the evening specials was«broiled scallops». What I received was — to say the least — a shock… When the plate came I received four actual seashell halves on the plate — which were attractive to the eye but not edible. Then, placed on top of each shell was one single scallop — each smaller than my thumbnail! All were overlooked and terrible. Needless to say I went home quite hungry from that meal because there literally was so little food to eat. I should have immediately sent it back but just wasn’t thinking… Never again.

For the area this is a great place. It’s been open for about 4 years and the place is pretty large. Different sections they’ve got a front restaurant part, bar restaurant, bar and patio bar outside. The patio bar has music late on Thursdays — Saturday. I’ve tried a few items on the menu. Burgers make sure you emphasize how you want it cooked. Seems to be problem with medium, medium rare and medium well. Waitstaff has always been friendly and helpful.

Love this place! We travel to Breezy Point 2 or 3 times a year from Texas to vacation in Minnesota. When there, we ALWAYS go to Billy’s. It has a great bar atmosphere, but it is also family-friendly. The food is great here as well. I definitely recommend it.

Located between Pequot and Breezy this bar and burger joint next to the local ice arena is a great place to fill up when you are in lake country. The décor is more tourist cabin chic than dive bar which is a fine line that is drawn based on how many taxidermies on the wall were shot by regular customers. The drinks are cold and wet but don’t expect to discover a new craft beer or fancy wine to impress your date, instead impress her with how much you can get for a $ 1 during the amazing happy hours or win her some meat in the weekly raffles. The highlight of the menu is definitely the burgers, they have a creative selection which are made fresh and cooked to order(thank god you can still get a medium burger somewhere.) My recommendation is the«Olive Burger»(topped with green olives and cream cheese) or the«Big & Brash»(topped with ham, bacon, fried onions, jalapeños, and hot sauce.) The rest of the menu is pretty average, but if you go to a bar to order a pasta or prime rib dinner you are setting yourself up for disappointment. During the summer this place can get busy with«Weekenders» and the service can be a bit slow but you are Up North where things shouldn’t be rushed, so have another beer, relax, and enjoy. TIPS: During select weekends in the summer for a small fee you can enjoy dinner and a show as they have a Wild West Stunt Show which rumor has it is really good!

This has to be considered a lakes area go-to spot. It is very popular with locals and weekenders alike. The happy hours are very enticing but the food itself should be the main draw. Have eaten there several times and never disappointed. 2-for-1 drinks on Friday nights doesn’t hurt. Ribs, prime rib, and wraps all score high marks. But Billy’s — come on – add a Friday night fish fry. Not one of those boring all you can eat affairs. Do it up right. Good pollock, decent batter, fries, and cole slaw. If you add the fish fry, I will be a Friday night regular for life.
