Breckenridge Outfitters Orvis

When we travel we always try a new adventure. This trip we went fly fishing with Breckenridge Outfitters. We had an amazing time and learned a lot. If you are interested in fly fishing I highly recommend this outfitter.

I went on a half day guided trip with a large group and had a blast. My guide (Chip) was very patient with me, no matter how many times I lost my fly or tangled up my line. The location they took us was gorgeous and we had the area to ourselves. I’m definitely going to try and take this up as a hobby now back on Oregon.

Our experience with the crew at Breckenridge Outfitters was incredible. We had a big group of 10 and the Breck team handled every detail flawlessly. From the very beginning of the morning to the end of the trip, they were respectful, patient, courteous and incredibly helpful.
My particular guide, Chip, was incredible. He was very generous in sharing his knowledge about fly fishing. He made it clear from the very start that there were no stupid questions, making it easy for a city-​slicker like me to engage. When he was in the water, it was clear he was doing what he loved. He was fun to be around. He was always checking to make sure we were having a good experience.
If you’re looking for an outfitter for a fly fishing trip, stop looking. This place is as good as it gets. Seriously, these guys are good.

Rude staff! Went in for simple tackle purchase so we could fish with our kids. No one helped us for 10 min while the employees chatted amongst themselves. When we learned they were out of hooks, the man with dark hair and beard said they had them available just not stocked and to come back early the next morning. The unopened boxes of hooks were just sitting there but they wouldn’t open them?!? No one else was in the store! We did come back the next morning when the man suggested and he wouldn’t open the boxes again saying he was busy with trips… Rude rude rude! Not going back again and wouldn’t recommend!

On my most recent visit I used a guide from Breckenridge Outfitters and I also went to the shop a couple of different times.
I experienced the utmost professionalism from the guide and the salesmen associated with Breckenridge Outfitters. That is what stuck out to me most which would cause me to choose them again in the future.
The guide service is really reasonable from a cost standpoint. They also seem to be very accommodating so be sure to call on the phone if the website doesn’t give you the options you need. I used only a wade and walk which was great cause it helped me to get to a great fishing location without having to do all the research myself. We started catching fish almost immediately and it gave me a location to return to the rest of the week. My guide who also works in the shop was very knowledgeable of the area and was full of advice regarding techniques as well as tricks of the trade.
The shop has just been expanded and has some really nice gear including Orvis, Fishpond, and Simms. Lots of flies, waders, accessories, and of course some nice fishing clothing. The staff are very helpful and made sure I found the items I needed.
They have some rentals including waders or nets if you don’t want to carry all that gear on a plane. They also can set you up with a temporary fishing license.

These guys are Gentlemen and Scholars — if you never fly fished and ever wanted to try — you cant go wrong with B.O.O. They know their stuff here, and worked with our schedule. Special thanks to Shane who seemingly walked me thru literally catching a fish step by step like tech support, and took care of the all little technical aspects so all we did was just fish.

Very help full and informative help me remember how to tie knots and different styles that was slacking or had forgotten. Great advice on flies not just this is good but why and how the hatch is working showing his own fly box that he takes on the water this was a selection of flys proven by his fly box i’m not the type of guy to take a guide in my own backyard but if I would …

These people are not outfitters. they are fly fishing guides. the young man with dark hair and a beard is great for insulting prospects and acting like he is Mr know it all. I heard him call an old man «hero» who was hard of hearing… mountain angler is far better and will not insult u. Don’t waste your money with disrespectful jerks

Unfortunately, I did not get to go with one of the guides, next year for sure. But, the folks in the store are so nice and so helpful on fly selection, I had to give them 5 stars. The earned it from me.

My boyfriend and I had a great time with the folks from Breckenridge Outfitters. Ned and Jeff greeted us after we had called in the day before for a reservation. It just started snowing, and rather chilly. They got us suited up with waders and shoes and then off we went. They were super nice, called us by our first name, and definitely made the effort. They were reasonably priced and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone.
