My dumb and impatient self decided to cut her own hair last night. TERRIBLE IDEA. I went today and even thought it’s only my second time there, Jung immediately recognized me! She asked me how work is (how did she still remember where I work) and told me my hair is a lot healthier than last time (how does she remember!!!)
Before cutting my hair, she told me what she was going to do and what would suit me best. Unlike the other Asian places, I LOVE that she tells me what she’s going and waits until she knows exactly what I want. While fixing my hair, she laughed and told me it’s even hard for her sometimes to cut hair. She told me what scissors I should use because I have frizzy/​half curly hair and gave me good tips as usual.
I complimented her hair color and she said «yeah you did chocolate brown last time!» (What theeee this lady is amazing)
Anyways, I’ve only been here two times but I feel like Jung knows me very well. I recommend 100 000% :)

I’m a bit late writing this review but I want to make sure I give sunny some praise. I came in to get the Korean magic straight done on my hair. I’ve previously gone to other Korean salons and while i loved the results it was a bit awkward because English was never spoken and I would sit there for 6 hours in silence. Well that wasn’t the case here. This salons clientele is mostly Korean but I felt super comfortable and the staff went out of their way to make me feel at ease. Now back to sunny. She is amazing and genuinely wants the best for you and your hair. She gives great Input on haircuts and styles that would look good on you. It pretty refreshing how honest she is even if it means she discourages you from getting more services and spending more money and affecting her bottom line. She really wants her clients to look good. I was there for 6 hours and they just flew by because she was so engaging yet professional. We are slowly working on rebuilding my severely damaged hair and I’m lucky this genius is helping me. I highly recommend her and the salon.

I got my hair done by Jung Kim and I definitely love it! I have stubborn black Asian hair, which is apparently one of the most difficult hair to lighten. I wanted to get blue hair so my hair had to be fairly lightened. So Mrs. Kim suggested that I have two sessions with her so that my hair don’t get too processed in one day, which I gladly agreed to. The picture with teal color is the first session and the blue is the second. I definitely recommend Mrs. Kim! Her first priority is your hair health, she will do all she can to keep your hair healthy and achieve the look you want.
Everyone is really nice and generous at Studio 21!
The service cost $ 200 and I gave $ 40 tip.
I had two bleaching and two coloring session, scalp treatment, hair treatment, cut\trim, oiled and styled.

Stylist Sunny’s client since 2000! I was to introduced to Sunny by the owner of the salon she previously worked in LA, after another stylist butchered by hair. Since then, she’s been my trusting stylist & more. It’s quite obvious she’s great with hair, but I truly appreciate her honesty. She’ll listen to you & if she feels what you’re asking for won’t quite workout on you, she won’t hesitate to share her opinion. But if you still decide to go with it, she’ll create what you want. I love everything she does-​especially her haircuts & high-​lights (PERFECTION!!!). She takes her time with your hair & you definitely feel you’re taken care of. Trust me! Why else would I have been going to her for 15 years?! I’ve introduced my friends to her, and they’ve been her client since day one. (She’s that good :).) And as a bonus, there’s never a dull, awkward moment with her on that chair– she’s so fun to talk to!

Jung Kim is my hairsylist and she is awesome! my hair always done well and I love it. She knows what kind of hair style will fit on you well. I always went with my brother and I recommended to other people too! I really recommend this place!

Sunny is THE BEST! for years I went to different salons not finding the right hair stylist until I was introduced to sunny! She does the best color in me and her recommendations are always on point with my hair. And if I ask her just to trim just a little bit of my hair since I like keeping my hair long she does exactly that! From experience when I asked others to just trim just a certain amount I would always get more cut off than asked.
Sunny does the best layering for my long hair and always love getting my hair cut from her!

SUNNY IS AMAZING! My 3 picky daughters, 17, 14 and 10 years old love her and is the first hairstylist they have been loyal to since we found her based on a friends recommendation. She’s is patient, funny and always makes sure you are happy with your haircut. My 10 yr old gets perms from Sunny… it’s always fabulous!!! My 3 daughters have finally found a hairstylist they can trust. Sunny provides great haircuts & beautiful perms that won’t damage your hair!

I’ve been going to Jung before she opened Studio 21. I lived in OC area for over 4 years and I went through several hair stylelists. Then I found Jung. She knows exactly what to do with my semi-​curly always bushy hair. My hair has a spiral point in the front which makes styling very difficult, but Jung really knows how to calm and tame that beast I call the «Abyss.»
Also boys and girls… my wife got me a scalp treatment and my world changed. I am addicted to that cool tingly feeling on my scalp. (Don’t judge me.) It’s so refreshing and clean!
Girls, do this for clean healthy roots and to keep your scalp clean! I love smelling my wife’s hair/​scalp. (Again, don’t judge!)
Guys, do this because it will change your life. Just shut up, man up, and clean that dirty stanky scalp!

It is awesome to find hair stylist extraordinaire Sunny residing at Studio 21 in Brea. She truly is a gem when it comes to taking care of my family’s hair care needs. We all know how difficult it is to provide for the needs of a 11 year old pre-​adolescent girl who thinks she is the family princess, 12 year old boy who wants a hair cut that doesn’t look like his dad’s, wife who thinks and acts like a Diva.
My entire family had been mesmerized by her styling for almost 20 years, and we are her faithful, loyal followers. Thank goodness she is only 15 minutes from where we live now, and we can get our Keratene straight, her fantastic coloring for my daughter and me, and cool haircuts for my husband and son!

First time at Studio 21. Decided to come here because of all the great reviews Sunny got. I had long hair and wanted to get it cut short for the first time. I got about 6 inches of my hair cut off and was very happy with the results! Sunny did such an amazing job and I got the exact haircut I wanted. I will definitely be coming back!

Jung is an amazing stylist, and I can’t wait to visit her again next time. She’s patient, takes time to educate you about your hair, and is intuitive on the style or look that you want. I love my blue-​black hair, with a classy and timeless mid length cut. I look 10 times better now than when I first entered the salon. Thank you Jung! :)

Sunny is the best stylist I know. Honest fact, she knows hair. She knows exactly what to do with different kinds of hair. I brought many friends with all sorts of hair and sunny knew exactly what to do.
Tell her what you want and she got you. No worries.

I hardly ever write reviews but I wanted to take time to mention how great my experience was. Seriously Jung Kim is the BEST! Best hair cut ever had! Very friendly environment. HIGHLY recommended!

I’ve been going to Ms. Sunny since 2009, and there was not a single time I was disliking the hair she did.
I usually get a volume magic and it takes 4 – 5 hours approximately but it is so worth of time.
She cuts and layers my hair in a way I don’t need to iron or is a dryer to do my hair in the busy mornings.
People always asked me where I did my hair and I am so happy I know Ms. Sunny as a hair stylist!
She makes your hair undamaged and gives a beautiful perms! Everyone who wants to change their boring hair styles should try Ms. Sunny. She will make your hair so gorgeous.

Loved my haircut by Sunny. I would have given 5 stars on that alone, but I did not like my ombré. I showed 3 photo examples through text and in the salon and consulted that it was possible. I also stressed no orange hair. Sunny was agreeable. In the end I paid $ 180 for the ombré plus tip, had extremely orange and splotchy ombré and then went somewhere else and paid $ 130 to dye over the orange hair. For reference, see photo in album. I couldn’t bring myself to return and have them fix it out of fear that it would come out worse. Instead I went to a salon I’ve trusted from previous experiences. And I didn’t ask for a refund because I believe people still need to make money for the work they do. I guess we all make mistakes.
Sunny does great haircuts.
I’ll stick with Aveda for my coloring.

I am a very picky when it comes to service. I want it all. Fair price, good manners, nice environment and people who know what they’re doing. I got all of that here and have never been happier with my hair. Sunny is pleasant and professional and did exactly what I wanted.

I’ve always wanted to go platinum but with asian hair it’s hard to achieve. Sunny and the staffs were really sweet. They really took time to make sure you came for what you wanted. I really love the result~ definitely will come back

I love this place because the service is awesome to start with. These hair stylists use super nice hair products that won’t damage your hair as much as other hair salons. I am highly recommending this place, i am never dissatisfied on how my hair becomes after my root touchup or color touchup. I get my hair done from Sunny, shes been touching my hair ever since ive gotten blonde hair.
