Honored Occasions

I am a wedding coordinator and worked with Ryan who was the DJ and emcee on a wedding this past weekend. He was so nice and accommodating. He was on top of the timeline and was really easy to work with. A coordinator’s dream! He got the party going with great mixes of songs, appropriate and fun for a wedding. He also has a great announcing voice! Also, the lighting he set up really set the mood for the venue. I highly recommend him!

We did so much research and sent out so many emails trying to find the perfect DJ for our September wedding. Honored Occasions was such a blessing to find! Martin was our DJ and he did a fantastic job from the start of the planning process through the end of the wedding reception. Martin really focused on what we wanted for our reception, how we imagined things, and how to personalize it for us. He worked with us on every detail and then executed everything perfectly. He did everything exactly as we asked him to and it was perfect!

We found honored occasions through our wedding vendor and it was the best decision we made! Steve was our dj and our special day went off without a hitch. He met with us a few times before our wedding to make sure everything was perfect and responded quickly to my countless emails. Also they provided our photo booth which was a huge hit and the attendant was so helpful she even helped carry my dress! I highly recommend Steve if you are looking for a great dj to help make your day unforgettable.

We just got married a couple weeks ago and had the privilege of having Steve DJ at our wedding. He was recommended to us by a close friend back when we got engaged. He was the first DJ we were meeting with and he was also our last. We knew from to moment our first meeting was over that it was the perfect match for our wedding. He just seemed to get the vibe we were going for right from the start. Steve kept in contact with me through out my entire engagement. I met with him a couple times to go over songs, the timeline, and he seriously made everything about the DJ planning part so simple!
I knew from the time I got engaged that one of the main things I wanted for my wedding was a great DJ that was able to keep the dance floor full, play songs that worked for every wedding situation, and someone that I felt comfortable with. And I can honestly say with 100% satisfaction that Steve was all of that. He knew just when to play slower songs and just when it was time to switch it up. My wedding was a BLAST and I owe a lot of that to Steve and the company. The dance floor was packed the entire time and everyone at the wedding told me multiple times how much fun they had and how we had the BEST DJ!
This is the first review I have ever wrote and its only because I feel Steve needs the highest praise! I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a DJ. If I ever need a DJ again I will for sure be calling Honored Occasions and talking with Steve.

Steve was amazing! We had a hard time finding a DJ since they play such a pivotal role is the flow of your wedding. Since he’s worked at the Center Club before he was familiar with the venue so that was a relief. He understood we wanted a tasteful and relaxed setting but also we wanted the dance floor to come alive! Played all our favorite jams! He also supplied our uplighting which also set the mood perfectly. Thanks again Steve!

My wife and I could not have been more please with Steve and Honored Occasions for our wedding! Steve is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet! He’s is extremely professional and personal, but his best quality is that he LISTENS TO THE CLIENT! My wife and I had a very complete and detailed list of songs we wanted played during the wedding reception. We broke it down into songs for seating, music during dinner service, late night, etc… We went over everything with him, and explained the feel that we wanted the wedding to have. He gave us his input and suggestions, but never just dismissed what we wanted. He tailored everything he did that night to our specific needs and desires. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Steve kept everyone engaged, read the mood of the crowd, and kept everyone having a great time all night long! If you choose Steve and Honored Occasions you will not be disappointed!

How could you not love Steve and the job that he does — he is truly wonderful and so much fun to have at a wedding and I can imagine any event. His energy, and attention to what you want and vision is superb. He did my sisters wedding. my wedding, and is soon to do another close family friends wedding! HE ROCKS — so thrilled with his professionalism, personality and overall awesome experience!

We LOVED Steve @ Honored Occasions! He provided «full service production» & he did a fantastic job. He is a talented entertainer & he knows what music to play for soft background mood setting, and what to play to keep the party rolling! It was important to us that our guests have FUN & they did — the dance floor was packed all night. We had 240 guests and he orchestrated the wedding & reception beautifully. He had great suggestions on music selections — both traditional and current. He was professional & personable on the mic and everyone had a great time! He also did the sound set up for the outdoor ceremony, and it was perfect. He did all of the lighting for the venue (indoor & outdoor) and we were amazed at how it transformed the setting. He was awesome from the first meeting to the last dance. he came highly recommended to us & we were honestly thrilled with him. We absolutely recommend you hire him!

Honored Occasions and Steve were wonderful to work with while planning our wedding. They provided personalized service at a great price. We got so many compliments on our lighting and DJ at our wedding. Steve made sure our «play» and «do not play» list was honored. Our reception went from 5:00 pm until 12:30 am and he kept the party going until he last song. I would recommend Steve and Honored Occasions without hesitation to anyone for their next event.

Steve did an amazing job at our wedding reception at the Balboa Bay Club. He was very organized, professional and our guests had a blast. He played what was on our song play list and was very personable and engaging with our guests. He is more expensive than some other DJ’s in the area but he was totally worth it. He also did our backlighting and it was beautiful. Thank you Steve for being a class act!

Steve was absolutely fantastic at our wedding! While planning the wedding, my mother and I had been disagreeing about whether to have a DJ or a live band. We ended up going the DJ direction with Honored Ocassions and were incredibly happy with the results. Steve was an excellent announcer and brought lots of energy and excitement when my bridal party and my groom and I made our grand entrance. During dinner he kept everything very classy and elegant. Later on, after dinner, he had the arduous task of combining American/​Latin/​European music to keep everyone both young and old happy! I am happy to say he nailed it and kept the energy flowing the whole night. Steve showed an incredible amount of professionalism, but at the same time, looked like he was having a good time too!

We had Steve DJ and emcee our July 3^rd wedding. He was not just a great DJ, choosing the most appropriate music for the moment and the crowd, but an engaging emcee, making smooth transitions amongst the reception events. We absolutely loved how connected he was to our guests and how much he paid attention to us and our needs. He worked closely with the live band we hired to play our ceremony and first dance and was nothing but professional when interacting with all of our vendors. My husband and I danced until the very last song– truly a testament to his amazing skill level!

My son was getting married and I wanted him and his wife to have the most awesome wedding ever. We hired Justin to be our DJ, and weeks later I am still hearing from people that this was the best wedding they had ever been to! Justin had people on the dance floor the whole entire time the reception was going. My daughter had a wedding five years ago in this same venue and we wanted my son’s to be just as incredible. His turned out better, only because Justin was so way better than the DJ we had at my daughter’s wedding. The DJ can make or break a wedding. We were recently at one and hardly anyone danced the whole evening. A DJ can make or break your event. Justin definitely made ours the best!!! It is so awesome to hear from people that your wedding was the best they had ever been to!

Steve came highly recommended to me through a client. She was right! My husband and I feel Steve and his dj’s level of professionalism was top notch. I can’t say enough good things, they made a real difference at our reception and kept everything moving all night. Would recommend without hesitation.

My wife and I used Honored Occasions for our wedding a few weeks ago. We were lucky to secure Steve as our DJ and he did a wonderful job during our reception. Our wedding was classic and elegant and we wanted a DJ who could ensure the reception stayed that way. Honored Occasions is such a dynamic company. Steve is a HIGHLY respected individual in many many industries. He has some of the best DJs around plus amazing lighting and production items that you cannot do without if you want the best event. HOWEVER, by far the strength of Honored Occasions are the people who work there. Their team is amazing and your guests will be blown away at how much fun they have!

Honored occasions was the best choice we made for our wedding. Our DJ Justin was amazing. He knew exactly what to play and when. Our guests had a blast and we received nothing but compliments about Justin. Everyone told us over and over that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and a huge part of that was due to our DJ Justin. Justin was professional and very much in charge. He kept us right on track the whole night and even brought us breath mints after dinner when it was time for us to make our rounds with our guests. It was small things like that, that amazed me even more. Justin even seemed to enjoy himself all night and showed us and our guest a few moves. You can’t go wrong with honored occasions and Justin.

Honored Occasions did an amazing job for our wedding. Martin was our DJ and we loved him! He was extremely professional, respectful, reliable and just a great person to do business with. He went out of his way to meet with us beforehand and really worked hard to understand what we wanted for our special day. He was great at offering suggestions and really helped us figure out what we wanted for music, announcements, order of events, etc. On the day of, he really got our guests dancing with perfect choices of music and even joined them on the dance floor to teach them a few dances. Many of guests commented afterward that they loved our DJ and thought he did a phenomenal job of keeping the fun going and the feet dancing. I would highly recommend Martin /​Honored Occasions. JUSTIN IS THE BEST DJ EVER!!!
Honored Occasions provided the lighting and DJ for our wedding. They matched the lights to our wedding color perfectly. Steve was very friendly, accommodating, and experienced. He introduced us to our DJ, Justin, and we immediately knew Honored Occasions was the one for us. Justin took the time to get to know us and what kind of music we like. The songs he chose to play on our wedding day were perfect! He was so energetic throughout the entire night and everyone had fun. Justin got all the guests on the dance floor with him to dance to Thriller and Gangnam Style. Our friends and family of all ages absolutely loved our DJ!

Steve is fantastic! Honored Occasions provided lighting (dance floor wash, initial monogram, up-​lighting) and a photo booth. Everything was great.
I highly recommend adding the photo booth rental to your package. Guests loved it! You also get a USB with all the photos which is awesome.
They were friendly, professional and on-​time.
