Econo Air

I’m a big fan! We had Econo Air come in nine years ago and install our heating and air system. We haven’t done a thing since (shame on us) but had them out to do their 26 point inspection. Not only Mallory super helpful to book the appointment and see what specials they had running we could take advantage of she was very professional and curtious.
George came out today and he was amazing! He wore booties on his shoes inside the house, was super clean, explained everything and did a great job with the inspection and helped us get the parts we needed to ensure they system doesn’t break down during the extremely hot summer expected in front of us.
I would highly recommend Econo Air to anyone looking for a full system and/​or service. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Econo Air!

I agree with all of the previous reviews that were written especially with John W. «Their customer service is horrendous. Making a simple appointment can become an excruciating exercise in futility and if successful, there is a good chance no sales representative will even show up to your house. Stay away from this company at all costs.» The Operations Manager Keith said he doesn’t understand why I would want to do business with such a horrible company. I agreed and canceled the difficult to get appointment and will call someone else. It took 5 phone calls and 6 hours just to get a list of their services faxed to me.

We had our heater inspected by Noah today. He did an excellent job explaining what we needed to fix in our heater and provided us with different alternatives that we could do to fix our heating system. He did a very thorough job and even showed us a video of it. Highly recommend Econo Air!

PRE-​SALES
I found Econo Air through Costco. It’s worth pointing out that to be an exclusive supplier for heating and cooling for Costco means you have to do a lot of things right. I told them my electric bill was ridiculously high so I wanted to get a more efficient system. A representative came to my house, checked out my existing system and asked me how long I realistically planned on living there. He made it clear that if I was selling or moving out in a few years, it may not be worth upgrading, unless you take into account the appreciation of the house by installing the system. He wasn’t pushy at all and really tried to understand my needs and objective.
I wasn’t planning on moving or selling soon and decided this was a big investment so I didn’t want to go cheap and wanted it done right. I wanted them to replace all of our old ducting which were made of asbestos and decided to go with a new Lennox XC14 condenser unit, a Lennox furnace and an Economiser (whole house fan). There were two reasons I upgraded my system, 1. Safety (to get rid of my old asbestos ducting) and 2. To reduce my electric bill from usage of the AC.
INSTALLATION
Econo Air was very flexible with the date and time of my installation. I have a crazy schedule so this was very important to me. The day of, an army of about 10 very polite and skilled men showed up to install the system. They were very professional, stayed out of our way and did a stellar job of the installation and clean up. My attic was left CLEANER and in better condition than before the installation! They even installed a platform for me to easily walk on and change the filter!
EXPERIENCE WITH THE SYSTEM
I’ve waited one year to write this review. I had the system installed 12 months ago and my family and I absolutely love it!
When I first agreed to purchase the system, I remember asking the guy, how much do you think this will reduce my electric bill. He said «probably by about half.» I thought he was insane and exaggerating. The night of the installation, a warm night mind you, I turned on the Economiser (whole house fan) and I was shocked. As promised, this fan instantly started sucking in cold air from the outside of the house and bring it into the house to cool everything down. This was an evening where I normally would’ve turned on the AC but the Economiser (whole house fan) cooled the house just as fast as the AC and for pennies versus dollars!
One month later, when I saw my electric bill, I realized the sales guy was pretty spot on with his estimate. By running the Economiser instead of the AC all month, my electric bill dropped drastically! To this day, I get compliments from friends and family who visit in the Summer on how cool and comfortable the house is.
MAINTENANCE
Today, one year after installation, I had our first routine maintenance done. The guy arrived on time as promised, thoroughly cleaned and inspected everything and was on his way in an hour and a half, all for less than a hundred bucks!
I would highly recommend this company and am really baffled by the negative reviews, especially since one lady who wrote a negative review is from North Carolina and a guy who wrote a similar review is from San Francisco. Econo Air only operates in Southern California!

I got a call from a very pleasant lady asking if I needed to have my furnace serviced which I did, and I said yes, MISTAKE NUMBER 1!
Today, the day of my appointment, Travis shows up looking very neat and clean. He takes about 45 minutes to look at both furnaces, takes a lot pictures, hu-​humms a lot and tells me that my problem is the ducting and it probably needs to be replaced!!! I tell that I have NO intention of spending thousands of dollars on that and that the reason he’s here is to SERVICE my units which WORK PERFECTLY WELL, after some more back and forth I ask if he’s going to do what he came here to do, MISTAKE NUMBER 2. He goes upstairs and NOT TEN MINUTES LATER, he’s done «SERVICING» the upstairs unit and is ready to proceed with the one downstairs. I go to the garage in the middle of the service and he’s just standing there, he pulls out this little brush when I come in and starts brushing and pretend coughing, for my benefit I guess, and when I ask when is he going to clean all the dirt he photographed and is STILL THERE he tells that’s NOT part of the job!!!
THESE GUYS HAVE TO BE ON COMMISSION, THE MORE THEY CAN SELL/​CHARGE, THE MORE THEY MAKE! STAY AWAY! IF THEY CALL OFFERING ANYTHING HANG UP!

Have you ever been sittin there, minding your own business and all of the sudden remember something you didn’t do, or could have done better. Well, today is one of those days. Quite a while ago I had some A.C. problems and really didn’t know who to call. I won’t bore you with the entire selection process but the end result was a call to Econo Air. Now, it was a while ago, so as the minutia escapes my memory I can say I remember it was a much nicer experience than I have had with other companies… that memory being having to wait all day only for them to show up late to a 5 hour windowed appointment, spending hours walking back and fourth, asking questions like ‘did I change my filter??’ (Your answer to which should be… «No, I didn’t. Does that mean you can’t fix it?»)… and then ultimately charging me 100’s of dollars but still having to schedule another appointment because they could not resolve the problem. Now with Econo Air, Chad L. was in contact with me even before he showed up, keeping me informed of his estimated arrival time. Which was very nice as I was able to handle a few errands with no fear of a «knock an dash» like cable companies and the like. Long story short (too late) Chad L. shows up right when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, fixed the problem and all was well. In my dealing with Chad L. and Econo Air, not once did I get the feeling I was being cheated, wronged or defrauded… you know the move technician steps away makes a call then all of the sudden it’s 300 dollars more… Anyway, I digress. I just now had a recollection of this experience and I thought to myself I really didn’t do Econo Air and especially Chad L. any justice by not writing a review. So, I apologize you had to wait a time with patience for this review. I wish my name was Wadsworth, Hemingway, or dare I say Shakespeare so I could have written a review worthy of the service I received… Unfortunately, all I have are 5 stars and these few meager words.
Needless to say, I highly recommend!

Mike (CEO) came over and was very professional. He explained in detail what the job consisted of, as well as answering all our questions. Mike came the day of the install and walked Fernando & crew what needed to be done. Very satisfied with the install of a new heater and AC unit. Fernando (foreman) and his crew were on time, professional, and showed pride in their work. Fernando and his crew came and took care of the installation and cleaned up very nicely. We had checked on line about all the contracting companies and felt that Econo Air would be the best company to do the work. Very happy we chose Econo Air. I would highly recommend Econo Air.

WOW !!! You can read the reviews here and form your own opinion… So one more bad review won’t really do much but here it goes…
Odd thing to notice if considering this company… it appears that all the good reviews are very recent (late half of 2015) which seems to me that either this company has suddenly changed and is much better :) or they are fake reviews.

Simple story;
They took my family for about 9K to install a ductless system with 2 fan units.
From the beginning they did work correctly and then started leaking.
They came out once a month for what seems like years.
****NEVER FIXING THE UNITS!******
Finally one of their own employees said the installation was done incorrectly and noted in in writing. Once he went out to the car and spoke with his manager and returned he grabbed the paper and ripped it up.
They never fixed it…
.Went elsewhere and paid but got it fixed, the first time they came out…

Thank you Mike (CEO), Monique, and team for the awesome job with the cooling/​heating unit installation! We are very pleased with the team’s professionalism and timeliness. Thumbs up!
Also, thank you Chad and J for the gas line repair. I appreciate your promptness in resolving the issues. Hopefully, I won’t hear back from SoCal Gas. No news is good news. :)

Air Conditioning broke and Econo Air was out and fixed it with no problem. Great service!

Our air conditioner decided to stop working and we were miserable! It was late when we called econo air to schedule an appointment, but they came the following day right on time. It took the technician Chris about 15 minutes to figure out the problem and fix it. We have been with Econo Air for a few years now and are completely satisfied with the quality of service. We can once again live comfortably. Thank you econo air!

I don’t usually write reviews but I am SO disappointed by Econo Air. I called them to take a look at our a/​c because I noticed the closet the unit in was damp. I waited hours for Steve to arrive and he said our unit was very old and recommended replacing it and left 4 options of very high prices ranging from $ 1,500-$ 6k. I told him we couldn’t afford any of those options right now but just needed to fix of whatever was dripping. He cleared a pipe and replaced and old air filter that I didn’t even know had been left in there (I had only been changing the exterior one) and said that’s what was causing the dripping. After he left a few weeks later I noticed the drip was back. I called Econo air and they sent Steve back out, this time he had someone with him that he was training. He ran the a/​c for 2 mins and said he didn’t see a drip anywhere but said he would have to charge me $ 69 again just for coming back. He offered to «do something» for the money so he then replaced the elbow on a pipe and put some tape around another piece, they were working for 15 mins and then they left. It was so hot today, we ran the air for my 2 year old daughters nap time and when I looked in the closet the entire closet was soaked! Turns out the leak had nothing to do with the pipe he replaced, he would have known that if he had just took the time to run the a/​c a little longer. After 2 service appointments and paying him twice, the leak was a hundred times worse. Steve was very friendly and personable but he did absolutely nothing to improve our situation yet still took our money. Very disappointing.

All of a sudden our air conditioner stopped blowing cold air … my place was 85°. Paul showed up the next day and figured out the problem pretty quick. I highly recommend this company. This was the only company that didn’t tell me I had to wait for a couple of days and I called so many places! Call them if you have a problem!

Brandon was very helpful in helping us diagnose our air conditioning repair needs.
Very polite and Econo Air was able to schedule an appointment the day after I called.

EconoAir came out today… Travis did a great job in explaining all the details about keeping up with our maintenance of our unit.

We had a evaporator coil issue in our old system (~30 years) and Brandon came by to look at our system. We were initially given an arrival time frame of 3 – 6. Brandon updated us day of and was here by 5.
While at our house Brandon explained to us very clearly the issue and took time to teach me more about ac than I ever bothered to learn.
Although long term we will need to replace our aging unit, Brandon performed a quick fix, which is what we needed to get back up and running. We will definitely have econo air out when we are ready to replace our unit.

This company is great. Jose, the the HVAC technician help us identify many issue that our system was having. They company also had a filter on hand to replace our old one!

Econo air trashes people’s property. When you get a new a/​c, they leave pamphlets on your neighbors door which becomes a liability for burglaries and becomes trash either on your door, or flying in the wind in your yard.
When I arrived home and saw what happened on a Friday afternoon, I promptly called them. Their female receptionist wasn’t helpful, didn’t bother to take down my address or phone number — thus ignoring this issue. I since then decided to post this review to keep others from their lousy customer service.
Come pick up your trash from my property!

FRAUD! Our AC was blowing hot air. The Econo Air technician came and diagnosed several problems for $ 1790. I told them «no thanks» and of course I had to pay the $ 69 diagnostic fee.
Then I called Cool Air Technologies, a family owned & operated business in Anaheim– they had it fixed in 25 min. for $ 275. The capacitor needed to be replaced.
Do not use these criminals!
