Quality Inn & Conference Center

Me and my wife went on a weekend trip to Vermont stayed here for two nights the manager and all the staff are really nice and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Weekend breakfast was as advertised for the price of the room it’s a very good deal. We will be staying there next time we are in the area very recommended.

Let’s start with the good — staff are very nice, location is convenient to highway. Breakfast has a wide selection. The price was great.
Now the rest: The hotel itself was cold, even though it was April the temp outside was low and the heat probably should have been on.
Our room had heat and AC, but when we turned it on there was a rattling noise. TV reception not great.
Despite those things it wasn’t a bad stay, and it appeared they were in the midst of some updating. I would give them another shot.

Brattleboro, VT. Check-​in is 3pm. Check-​out is 11am. We were running late and they gave us an extra 30 minutes. The beds were clean, but the bathtub had hair in it. The bathroom fan did not work. The heater/​air conditioner did not work. Hot breakfast was better than most places. Had ham, sausage, eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins, juice, coffee, tea. There is an inside pool and fitness room. We did not go in there. The 2 queen bed rooms had a fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer. There was also soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in the room. We were exhausted when we checked in and did not notice the dirty bathtub until morning. The room and beds were clean other than the bathtub. This room was $ 59 for 3 people with the professional diver discount. They gave it to us for $ 49 because they quoted us the wrong price when we called. I would stay again, but would check the room carefully before taking it because of the amenities and the wonderful breakfast.

HORRIBLE, our first room was disgusting! It hadn’t been cleaned, so we were switching rooms and our second room smelled and our blankets smelled like wet dog. Even we went to breakfast it was 40 degrees inside the hallways, lobby and dining area. Our children couldn’t eat because they were shivering so badly. We left the hotel and came back for bedtime and there was a HEAVILY intoxicated woman stumbling up and down our halls screaming profanity and breaking dishes from the lobby, cursing my boyfriend out, leaving my kids in fear. It took the attendant about 3 hours to call the police. It was insane. Terrible place to stay… Never again.

This by far was the worst experience I have ever had at a Quality Inn. It started from the time I checked in.
Prior to booking I called the location and asked if I could pay cash for my stay and was told that that was not a problem.
Upon arrival, the front desk clerk kept saying I needed to give a $ 200.00 cash deposit, that if I pay cash, I cannot secure the stay with a credit card, finally after 20 minutes the clerk called someone who told her I could pay cash and leave a credit card for deposit. All along customers kept coming up complaining about their heat not working.
Well when I got to my room, it was freezing, however the heat in my room worked.
The halls however were also freezing, no heat in them at all!
The next morning I went downstairs to the hot breakfast. At this time I asked the front desk clerk if she could move me to a room downstairs, and she said no problem, the keys would be waiting for me at the front desk. Upon getting to the breakfast area, again the room was freezing (I mean it was actually beyond just cold). The noticeably powdered else were sparse and cold! There was 3 strips of bacon. Note I was there at 6:30. There was about 6 mini danishes and 3 mini muffins partially covered in plastic wrap. There was only a cup of milk in the pitcher, the Orange juice machine was broken so they had a pitcher with about a glass of apple juice and another with about 1 ½ glasses of cranberry juice. I do not know if the milk or juice was cold or warm as I dared not try the milk. The cereal containers were all empty but had not been cleaned since last use. On a posetive note, I believe the coffee was warm and the waffle iron appeared to be working. I left and bought breakfast elsewhere.
Upon arriving that afternoon, I was told they didn’t have a room for me downstairs! The morning clerk never left any keys, however I noticed aa note on the counter with my room number on it, they apparently just gave the room to someone else. Once I got to my room, it took 45 minutes get bearable as the maid shut off the heat. I noticed the maids all wearing winter coats, this should have warned me.
We decided to walk down to the pool. Thankfully I didn’t plan on using the pool. The water was disgusting, the bathrooms were in total disrepair, however it looked like they might be renovating the locker area, but it seems to be taking a long time as the area looked like no one had been there for quite a while. One main reason I would not use the pool is there is no way to get back to my room without possibly getting frozen in place from being wet.
The next morning I skipped the breakfast and just checked out. I did however see a few customers complaining about the heat.
On a positive note, the WIFI was working and the room was clean.

One star is a generous rating for this Inn. If you have ever stayed in Quality Inns before, then this Independently owned Inn would be 90% below your expectations. I booked two rooms at the Brattleboro Quality inn for three nights for myself and my son and his wife. First of all, If you like any random person off the street being able to walk into your hotel without a key, then this is the place for you. Also, if you are a solo female traveler as I was, get ready to have your room sold to someone else and be traumatized by being awakened in the middle of the night by a complete stranger entering your room. Now let’s talk about the renovations, which I am assuming were completed sometime during the Carter administration. As soon as we entered the building we noticed peeling paint, water damage, and an odor that smelled like your grandmother’s water-​logged basement. And beware of the hanging crown molding that could possibly impale you while sleeping. The pool looked green and toxic. Also, If you expect to get the advertised microwave, coffee maker, and free WiFi in your room, they will be there, but don’t expect them to work. Three requests for replacements fell on deaf ears. There was no need to go out for the Fourth of July, I just watched the microwave fireworks explode in my room. Needing a drink after this experience, I went to the advertised bar in the lobby only to find it permanently closed. Last but not least, after 3 requests for dysfunctional key replacements, the confused staff called my son’s room 3 times, late at night, just to confirm the spelling of his name. So do yourself a favor and check out the other options of where to stay while exploring beautiful southern Vermont.

Horrible. There is no security, every door is either not locked or door knob is broken. The hall ways are filthy, the room smells musty and the pools are not useable. Outside pool has caution tape around it and is half filled. Inside pool looks green. Nasty! Will never stay at a Quality Inn again. I see no quality from this place

Dear God in heaven, if I could give this hotel zero stars, I would.
I booked a room at this hotel for the tough mudder ⁵⁄₃₁. It was reasonably priced but a hike from MT. Snow, but I felt I could handle it.
Man, have I never been more wrong. Upon arriving, the front door to main lobby was smashed in. We did check in speedy fashion, only because the girl working the desk didnt ask for ID or anything. I gave her my name only and she handed me a key. I could’ve been Joe Shmoe the car salesman… it didnt matter.
We got to our room, which looked like the setting for the latest Stephen King movie. The ceiling had some unidentified substance leaking from it, the window was wide open (it was 44 degrees out) and there were holes in the screen.
The bathroom had a dull light bulb giving this awful haze and the bathtub had mold.
We went to the bar to get a drink where the poor elderly woman was working. A crowd had formed at this point and I watched said employee/​homeowner make a margarita with vodka and grenadine. She handed it to a customer who immediately complained because there were flies in it. She made a second margarita the same way.
Several gentleman came in and asked for the beer they had on tap, while sitting there, all the taps were out. So no working beer taps and bartender didnt know how to make a drink.
One gentleman paid for his beer (a bottle of bud light, which oddly enough, they did have) but alas, there was no money in the cash register. Lucky for customer, Ms. Bartenders husband was there and was able to make $ 8 in change from his own wallet.
Another customer wanted to reheat her leftovers, however the microwave in the kitchen didnt work.
The pool looked like it had been peed in forever and had started forming some sort of jelly-​like consistency to it.
Needless to say, we checked out 2 hours after checking in and found another place to stay.
How this place hasnt been condemned is beyond me. I dont care how affordable it is, the people under the stairs, who look like Chernobyl survivors, have no idea how to run a business.
God have mercy on your souls

I only write reviews if a hotel was exceptional or terrible — this one is exceptionally terrible.
If you consider staying there you might ask that they
— empty the previous guests’ trash from your room’s trash can
— remove the previous guests’ hair from all over the bathroom and bed
— not lose your reservation and make you wait for 45 minutes until checking you in, while being rude and insulting
— learn that it is common practice to be able to order a taxi for your guests
— vacuum the hallway floor which has not happened in a long long time
— install sockets so one can charge electronic devices
If, that is.
My recommendation is — just don’t even consider this hotel.

I stayed in Brattleboro for a night before embarking on some hiking the following day. Surprised that the Quality Inn had some low rates for rooms, I decided to book a room. Parking was a bit scarce, but it was a Saturday during the early fall, so I figured folks were enjoying some time enjoying New England. My room was set off in a corner of the hotel, so it was quiet, far away from the Japanese restaurant that was at the other end of the hotel.
The room itself was reasonably clean, but it could have used an update, particularly with the room’s moulding and also in the bathroom. I’m not terribly picky, but I felt that this would be something that the hotel could improve on.
Breakfast choices were scarce for the hotel itself. I didn’t see any fruit put out, seemed like trays were put out for hot food items, but I didn’t see any hot breakfast foods, just didn’t seem well run. Then again, I tend to go to hotels for a roof over my head for a night, not necessarily the breakfast.
There is also an indoor pool, but I arrived too late to use the pool or exercise room. There’s also a foosball table in the front lobby as well.
In the end, the Quality Inn is an OK place, but don’t expect a lot if you stay here.

Most recent stay March 28^th for one night. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, wet wash cloth in tub with P-​Hair all over it, suction cup tooth brush stuck to the mirror, I guess the maid missed that? Large water or smoke stain on ceiling of room near window the fridge made so much noise I needed to turn it off to sleep. The worst part was my nonsmoking room had a stench of cigarettes so bad that I was choking at times. It seemed the vents were helping people share their cigarettes.

Unfortunately this was the last room available so complaining wasn’t going to do much good.
On a positive note they have a good breakfast buffet.

I was trying to find transportation services to Boston, MA and was running into a bit of trouble. I wasn’t even a guest of Quality Inn and Leann allowed me the courtesy of using the phone to try to make arrangements. While I was running into a brick wall on the phone, Leann took it upon herself to go online and discovered Greyhound offered such services and at a very affordable rate.
Leann was kind, helpful, understanding and just the sweetest, most darling young woman. She behaved as the ideal of excellence in customer service. Love her!

This is one of the oldest hotels in the area, but it seems completely up to date. It was clean, great breakfast buffet, and nicely appointed. The price was a bit high, but I was there during foliage weekend. The staff was pleasant, and appreciated the cider and fruit. I would recommend to anyone.

A horrible place. The room was so dirty I didn’t want to let my baby crawl around. The air quality was so bad that my husband and I both woke up with sore throats. The pool was so disgusting we didn’t even go in it (and we aren’t normally fussy!). The crown molding in our room was literally falling down.

Two stars for trying. But the hotel has seen better days. Probably their peak was in 1979 and its just been downhill since. Of course the very very cheap price reflects that. There are certainly pros — aforementioned cheap price, restaurant and bar in the hotel, big flat screen tvs in the room, full fridges & microwaves too. Everyone seemed nice. They even let people grill & use the firepit by the outdoor pool.
But, honestly the place gives me the creeps. Everything was dark and reminded me of the shining. My room was towards the back, next to the highway. I actually don’t mind it (I grew up with the MassPike in my backyard), but the back entrance that wasn’t locked facing the highway sort of freaked me out. The room had a really gross chemical smell. Its early summer and there seems to be flying ants coming in through the windows (even before I opened the window to get rid of the chemical smell).
I’m reminded why I shouldn’t take a risk with these super cheap rooms!
