Came to Branson, of course, for a time share thing lol. This was one of the options of the group for our dining voucher and I knew this would be our choice since I always wanted to do hibachi and I love sushi. My BF and I were not disappointed! Martin was our hibachi chef and while young he was very good, friendly and entertaining. Everything we expected it to be. We got the California earthquake roll and it was delish! The BF and I split the Branson Marina which is all seafood. The waitress was nice enough to tell us they we could«add a plate» for $ 6. What that means is I could get the soup and salad too and we split the entrée. Totally worth it! I have no idea how one person could eat that much food! The house soup is nothing to write home about as it’s just chicken broth with some veggies but since I don’t like miso soup it worked for me. The ginger dressing was yummy. The calamari in our entrée was spectacular! It came out whole and Martin cut it on the griddle! It was neither chewy or rubbery. Our table companions were delightful and friendly and had just arrived like we did. Now regarding another review on here about the 17% gratuity, I see where you are coming from but I’d say this is a language barrier. There should have been an «also» at the beginning of the last sentence. We were also a party of 2 not 6 and were added the gratuity so if you have a voucher expect the tip to be added automatically. In our case they shorted themselves as I would have tipped more just because it was such a great experience.

We love hibachi grills and have been wanting to try the Shoguns back home, but we haven’t had the chance. Came to Branson for vacation & decided to try it… the steak didn’t have a great flavor, chicken was good, fried rice, which I love, had no flavor. I was a little disappointed, and will try the one back home. I hope they all aren’t this way.

I came to Branson for a timeshare visit. They have us a 30.00 voucher and we were able to choose any location on a list. We chose Shogun. Our visit started off bad. When we walked in the waiter was nice and friendly. He sat us at the sushi bar. The manager was to our left doing paperwork at the end of the bar. I asked our waiter if there were happy hour specials. He went to ask the manager and he basically shooed him away and said no. Ok fine. We order anyway. I ordered a Vegas roll and miso soup. The waiter tells me that miso soup is included with sushi orders. Great! Then after he puts in the order he says the manager said the soup is not included with the sushi I ordered. So I said fine. The miso is 2.00. Give me the miso. We order and eat our food. We get the bill. It’s 40.00 I place the voucher that has been sitting there the entire time in. And I place my debit card. When the bill comes back the waiter has added 17% gratuity on his own. Like wrote it in and then processed my card with this tip included. Not that I wouldn’t have tipped him but why would he write it in on his own. So I asked why and he said its policy and the sign at the door states that if you use the voucher they add 17%. Well I go to the door to see and it’s for groups on 6 or more where they automatically add 17% gratuity to the person who uses the vouchers bill. I was there with my mother. That is a party of two. I don’t know why this was done to us. But I know wont I won’t be back. And since I don’t like Branson, that’s a promise!

Shogun is hands down the best place to go for sushi cost. The sushi is fresh and they have a hibachi grill as well, great entertainment while the chefs cook. They have the yummiest fried rice in the entire town. The dinner comes with miso soup and a little side of cucumber salad. Terry is the owner and he is one of the nicest guys you can meet.

I can’t say enough about this place. They give a great show if you go to the BBQ side, nice quiet atmosphere if you go over to the menu side… I love coming here!

We had a great time, good food and service was great! Everyone in our large party of 10 enjoyed their meal, drinks and the show. Loved that you could sit comfortably around the table and still communicate with friends at the other end. Our chef cooked everything to perfection(my 12 year old did mention he shouldn’t focus so much on our little friend who was super embarrassed; that she would have been as uncomfortable). Other than that we really had a great time. My steak and shrimp was $ 23. Daughters chicken was $ 14. My husbands spicy tuna was the best he’s ever had. for 4 of us drinks, food and sushi $ 125. This is one of our favorite Branson restaurants but tonight I was not impressed at all. The service was less than average, the hibachi chef was less than entertaining & didn’t do well on the portions for each one at our table. The waitress got the order wrong on mine & sent chicken instead of steak. The chef caught it after we corrected him. When he cooked the chicken(even after leaving an order of chicken on the tray to not cook) he decided he still had too much chicken & put the remaining cooked chicken back on the same tray as the uncooked meat… Big NONO! We are very disappointed with our visit. The worst part is we had another party with us & we bragged how good this place was …

I think we had the same waitress as T.T. We were so appalled at Amanda’s behavior that we spoke to a manager(which we NEVER do). She was rude to every single person at our full hibachi table. I was giving her my order when she put up her hand with an eye roll and said«Wait a minute! Now what do you want?» When she brought out the soups/salads, she literally threw them down in the middle of us, they spilled out everywhere, and we had to reach over & get our own. My husband asked her for a small bowl of dressing to put on his rice & she gave him a nasty look then looked down at his salad bowl and said, «Are you done?» We never got the bowl of dressing. One guest asked her to please pass him the soy sauce which he couldn’t reach. She flattened her palm & smacked the soy so that it shot across the table at him. When she brought us the ticket, she was as sweet as pie! Marvin was our chef & he was fabulous! He was a good cook, was funny, & attentive. He even refilled our drinks after he cooked for us because Amanda disappeared. The food was delicious & everyone else in the restaurant was very friendly & cheerful. Definitely eat here but make sure you don’t get our waitress.

It pains me to give poor reviews, but others need to know. We didn’t eat at the hibachi but instead sat at a table. Had a large group, but the restaurant was fairly empty so service should not have been a challenge. Food was very good. The service was very poor. Two orders were wrong. Water glasses were empty throughout most of the meal. When I signaled to get the waitresses attention she said, «what»? A little blunt and would have appreciated a, «may I help you»? Bathroom floors were sticky, dirty walls and switches. Once again, though, the food was very well done. Fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. We just need to improve the service and this place will move up a star or two.

Sushi is great: food is delicious: service is great. But the bathrooms are deplorable! Feet stuck to the floor. Pee all around the toilets in a puddle. Come on Shogun give the girls their own bathroom and clean them up!!!

My drink was EXCELLENT but the food was only fair. I had scallops & they were very gritty & unfortunately burnt. The fried rice was burnt as well. You could actually smell the burnt food & see black char. To top it off we had to pay a 17% gratuity, not just on our dinners but the tax as well. Who does that?! We are 20−30% tippers, but not when I feel taken advantage of.

I stopped in for lunch on the advise of a representative from my timeshare, along with a 10% discount coupon. I decided to eat at the grill, as I enjoy the show the Hibachi chefs put on. I ordered scallops, with a side of shrimp, and extra vegetables instead of fried rice. Salad was included with the meal. I was not disappointed in any respect. Roncho(I think I have the name right!) gave me and the two other ladies at the grill the full show, and cooked everything to perfection. The serving of seafood was large enough that I was able to take almost half back to my timeshare with me, which made the price quite reasonable. I will definitely eat here again the next time I come to Branson.

Not to be confused with the other Shogun. This place just keeps getting better over the years. The sushi is awesome, and this is coming from someone who has eaten fish straight from a chef’s cutting board(after just being caught). The Flying avocado and sea breeze are our favorite and the new mango specialty roll is perfect if you like a little spice. Over the years the staple has been the heart attack roll, and I promise… If it was possible to have have heart attack from too much consumption, well… you can rest assured it won’t happen, but it is delicious. BTW the Hibachi isn’t too shabby either.

Okay food but good sushi. Took the family here while on vacation for a week. The wife and I are vegetarian and requested fried rice with no egg and got the veggie hibachi. They separated everything and did not get at egg or meat grease on our food. Very well done. Our sushi was a specific request not on the menu but they did an excellent job. A bit pricey but worth it. Good for vegetarians!

Solid sushi, but not great. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I think that would be more accurate. It didn’t impress me, but it also didn’t disappoint me.

We went to Shogun on 2÷28÷14 to celebrate my grandson’s birthday. My husband and I started with some sushi, which was excellent. The kids(9 and 12) were thoroughly entertained by the chef who deftly managed the hibachi grill. The 9 year old(the birthday boy), doesn’t like vegetables, but after watching our chef cook, enthusiastically enjoyed his hibachi chicken & vegetables. There is an additional«birthday package» available, I think it was $ 7. It included a dessert, a photo, and an enjoyable song from the staff. The dessert was a large slice of cheesecake, decorated with a «Happy Birthday» stencil in powdered sugar. The photo was taken, printed, and mounted in a standard frame. The song from the staff was in Japanese, which thrilled my grandson. It was a memorable evening that we all enjoyed. The service was excellent, the sushi was wonderful, and the steak in our hibachi entrees was flavorful and tender.
