Business Owner

Elizabeth and I started the Parrot Hut March 2014 after another bird store closed down in the area. We saw the need for a bird store in the area, we love parrots and have several parrots of our own. The community was in a loss, after the previous store had closed. We are happy to be here and serve our community.

The best place around to get a pet bird! They know so much about birds, and all the birds in the store are extremely friendly and sweet. When you get a bird from them, you also get a complimentary wellness exam at Santa Cruz Animal Clinic, and they promise to pay for any meds if the bird is unwell (my cockatiel that I got from them is in perfect health). Definitely check this place out if you’re in the market for a new feathered friend.

We adopted our African Grey a few months ago from a rescue group. The folks at the parrot hut were our first stop to get everything we needed. They were so helpful and took the time to answer all of our questions. When they found out our Scully was a rescue bird they offered to give us a free nail trim and a wing clip. Wow! We have been going back ever since. They have everything you need and lots more you didn’t know you needed. They also have a huge selection of birds, which all seem very happy and playful. They really care about their birds and it shows. Definitely stop by, even if it is just to see all the bird they have. My 3 kids love going there.

I was interested in checking out a bird to purchase. The «manager» seemed to busy to answer by questions — so I left. This is a Mom/​Pop operation so I guess it is better to stick with the real pet stores like Petsmart.
