Once Upon A Child Brandon

They have EVERYTHING you could ever need for your baby. Books, clothing, toys, shoes, gear, even unused diapers. Selling is fairly easy, you can even call ahead and tell them what you want to sell, and they’ll let you know if it’s in demand right now. I prefer this store to other consignment stores because they pay you on the spot (you get more if you take the store credit).
The aisles are a bit crowded so be mindful if you have a large stroller.
All of the clothing that I’ve seen is in extremely good condition, although some pieces are overpriced for being second-​hand. All-​in-​all, I enjoy shopping and selling here.

I just had the worst experience ever at my local Once Upon a Child store in Brandon. They have lost my business and I will find another consignment shop to use! I have been using them for a very long time and have consigned of lot of things there in today was a disaster. There was at least five or six girls behind the counter not one of them was friendly! They told me it was going to be 3 to 4 hours to go through my stuff which was no problem at all except for that I get all the way back home which is 20 minutes from there and almost immediately I get a phone call that they have already gone through my stuff. I was a little annoyed but got back in the car and turned around and went back to get it. I had taken them to laundry baskets full of toys and books and games and almost brand new condition and one garbage bag full of clothing items. Upon my return there they offer me only $ 25 and I realized that they hadn’t even gone through half of my stuff so now I had to sit there and wait while they went through it. They were discussing my items and one girl told them it was something they needed in stock to take it and the other girl told me that she was the buyer that day and couldn’t take it but I could bring it back another day. Are you kidding me!?! I’m already here why in the world would I load all of my stuff up and bring it back another day just to get a different buyer. They had no clue what was going on in their own store which wouldn’t have been so bad if they were at least friendly about it. Very disappointed and I feel like I don’t even know if I got paid correctly for the stuff that they did buy because it was such a train wreck behind the counter today. Very disappointing experience that has cost them my business and I have lots of mommy friends that I will definitely be spreading the word too!

Nice employees. Good selection of toys. Nice good condition clothes and shoes. I enjoy shopping there.

I love Once Upon A Child ! I wish this store existed when my child was small. I am a Grandma now and get all my extra baby equipment from them, great place for bouncy chairs, walkers, portable cribs and strollers. I also love picking up toys from there… and of course the clothes, gently used and sometimes never worn clothes for the grand babies… Love it!

It’s disappointing to have some items rejected but there are complicated factors that go into why they take things and why they don’t. I try not to take it as a personal insult.
I love shopping here (though some random items are overpriced) and have sold many things to them over the past decade.
The shop can get very crowded and I do wish there was a video playing in the little kid corral so that I could spend more time shopping sans kiddos, but, again, complicated decisions. I just have to suck it up.
I wish they had not gotten rid of their used kid books. That was my favorite!

This place is just absolutely insulting! I took in a box of toys, nice toys mind you. Nothing out of date or tore up, missing parts, etc. And they took 2 of about 20. Are you kidding me? An absolute waste of my time. They didn’t even bother to call and tell me they were finished either. When I was looking around I noticed there was a train table for sale that had rips in the cardboard top but they decided to take that an turn away my nice build a cars! This place is a joke! You can go to TJ Max and Ross and get new toys and brand name clothes for the same price they are selling used items as well as their Melissa and Doug line so don’t waste your time. And, the customer service sucks! Yes, I said it… SUCKS! Save yourself the frustration…

I had a great experience here. Everyone that worked there was very nice & they had all the latest jumparoos & cradle swings & new looking strollers, not to mention the $ 1.00 onsies! That looked like brand new! All the shoes u would want for a baby & lots of toys too. Lots of everything! Not just 1 of each thing more like 5 of each! Lots of their clothes still had the original tags on them too! How could anyone complain about that is beyond me! Must be used to getting things for nothing? I think it’s GREAT!!!

I went in to look for a Rock and Play sleeper for a friend which they sadly did not have. The staff didnt greet us when we walked in and there were only a few other people in the store. They do have a large selection os swings, bouncers, strollers and tons and tons of childrens clothing. They even have a generous selection of premi outfits. The prices arent bad. For the swings, etc. it would be comparable to what you would find on craiglist; maybe a few dollars more. The store overall was clean and well organized. It’s nice if your looking for alot of clothes because they really have a large selection.

The service was nice at check out but some of the employees barrel through the store with out anything close to an «Excuse me.» So over all, I give the customer service a 3. The items that they had were generally of decent quality. However, the prices aren’t really that great. There was a faux leather jacket with a gaping hole in the arm and they still had it priced at 15.00. Some of the toys were obviously dollar tree buys were priced at 2.99. Yes, you can buy a real polo here for around 7.99, about half the price you’d pay the mall, However, I can go down the street to the salvation army and buy a real kids polo for 1.99. If you have a list of clothing that you need this place would be great as t hey have a huge selection and you’ll probably find what you’re looking for, but if your just browsing for a deal try the regular thrift stores or yard sales. They are hit and miss but the prices are better. Overall I give the prices a 2. The store was pretty clean an organized and I’ll give that a 4.

Great place to purchase new or lightly used children’s clothing for a fraction of the price! The also have toys, books, clothes, bedding (and accessories), swings, strollers, etc. I’ve bought so many clothes for my son as well as a breast-​feeding pillow (retails for $ 45, I got it for $ 20!). I constantly see a ton of items behind the register that they just received, they’re always buying used items from people. I stop in here at least once a month. They are a little more pricey that the children’s consignment shop directly across the street (Lil Sprouts) but they have a MUCH larger selection and probably more new clothes with tags still on them. That being said, its also worth stopping in to Lil Sprouts — they have plenty of $ 0.99 onesies that you can’t beat!

Worst consignment shop ever. Don’t waste your time. These people don’t know how to treat customers and they sell faulty furniture that could result in physical harm to your children.
